We’re not even supposed to fix any at all, regardless of price. There is supposed to be Quality Control from the seller’s side, and for that number of years it was previewed and accepted up to today’s release that was supposed to be handled. Sometimes I don’t give a shit about their pandemic reasons anymore. What they have with their factories is failure of communication, I believe.
I am not making excuses, I’m trying to be realistic and practical. If you think NECA is producing flawless figures check eBay. There are lots of broken figures for sale and it is a well known issue. Paint cracking is another. I love the NECA TMNT line - but it’s expensive too and definitely not flawless either. Look at April’s head. It also was next to impossible to obtain them at retail for the first 2 years or so of the line. Hasbro just sold an $80 Rodimus Prime that is $30 figure height in robot mode and they still couldn’t even paint his wheels. There are notorious issues with their GI Joe figures, some of the Star Wars black series, etc. I got a Marvel Legends Storm that can barely stand even straight legged her ankles are so loose. Playmates TMNT classic figures are cheap but woefully out of scale and really shiny. Etc, etc, etc.
So that is exactly my point. Nobody is producing flawless figures, and you aren’t paying more to Super7 for flawless figures, you’re paying more because otherwise based on the numbers sold they wouldn’t turn the profit they desire. These aren’t sold in mass quantities at retail, they have basically no shelf presence. Yes I’d like to see them do better than some of the major errors they have committed, but if I let every tiny paint splatter or stress mark ruin a figure for me I’d be done collecting. That’s just not enjoyable. Anything mass produced is going to vary from piece to piece and quality control is always limited by cost and practicality. Nobody inspects every figure for paint flecks and they never will.
Again, I expect them to address Tygra. I’m sure they will address Grune’s hips even though personally they don’t bother me since they seem to bother enough people. But there’s too much glass half empty in this thread right now along with some unrealistic expectations. And Super7 is the only company I’ve seen personally address these issues en masse with the fans.
That tygra is ugly, i’m sorry that happened, that sucks.
I think they’re called “ultimates” because they’re ultimately like any other toy line, warts and all. :biggrin
Mate I get it, you have low standard when it comes to toys because for whatever reason you have decided that they should be held to a lower standard than other commodities. Would you buy a house with I’ll fitting fixtures and wonky walls? Can we expect cars covered in scratches and splotchy paint? Would you buy a shirt off the rack with wonky stitching and a hole in it?
I know Super 7 can do better. I expect them to do better. You mention other companies that are notoriously bad, so what, we just set the bar in the gutter across the board? Neca figures are half the price. I only ever had an issue with one figure, Reeve Superman, they sent me out a replacement at their cost and told me to keep the broken one. As it is with Tygra, I have to send the figure back for a refund at my expense.
What’s with the glass half empty talk. We’re just talking about objective facts here. All I did was post some images of the one figure out of eight I found to be completely uccaceptabe. You have agreed with this sentiment and expect them to address it. I’ll believe that when I see it but I hope they do. Who has unrealistic expectations? After 2 years can I have a figure that doesn’t look like it belongs in the bargain bin?
If you think Super 7 is transparent with their issues and communication you obviously haven’t been watching closely. They put their correction pack video as unlisted and they also never Addressed Lion-O’ belt peg and Jackalman’s calves which they had previously said would be corrected. If you want real communication from a company about the manufacturing process, updates and addressing possible issues with figures, look at what Valaverse is doing with their Action Force line.
You had a point with your first sentence but then you completely undid that with nonsense you posted in the second statement. Well done.

I collect action figures from multiple different toylines and none of them have anywhere near the type of qulaity control issues that almost every Super 7 figure seems to have.
In fact barely any of them have any real quality control issues at all.
Of all the toys I have ever owned, vintage and modern I have never seen a toy with paint applications as bad as @Booshman Super 7 Tygra figure…or the majority of Super 7’s figures in general.
That type of quality is not acceptable on £20 figures, or any tye of figure really, let alone on £50+ figures.
You are right on some of those issues. But aside from NECA’s paint on joints and stiff joints (which are easiy fixed with hot water) none of those other toylines have issues affecting an entire run of figures. So far nearly every Super 7 figure that has been produced has had design/engineering and quality control issues.
Although I will say my Marvel Legends Storm also as issues standing but on mine it’s just a design issue, not weak ankles.
I have the majority of the G.I. Joe Classified action figures and they are all pretty much perfect. The only one’s I had any issue with was a small paint mark on Duke that wiped off easily and the BAT had tight hip joint’s which were easily fixed with hot water.
It’s odd how Valaverse can manufacte more articulared figures and make a profit selling figures for around £35 while Super 7 are chargine £50 for a figure with limited articulation and several pointless accessories.

I guess none of you collected HeroClix. Those had the worst paint applications and quality control.
…really?..you mention heroclix as a comparison?..dude they are barely 3inches tall…
Tygra came out really bad unfortunately…and its not only booshman’s… the gaps on the legs are there for everyone…any reviewer mentioned that? nop…did anyone mentioned the sloppy face paint on the regular face? nop…i hope we will soon listen some news from super7 about tygra…and they are already late…if they have some plans of addressing the issue its best to know before we got shipping notices…if we still have a chance of canceling him from retailers

I love Thundercats, and at age 46 am usually pretty content with the toys warts and all, but Booshman’s Tygra is shameful. I get that they want to get the toys to us after so long, but that just should never have been sent. I’m hoping that they at least include another head with better paint apps in a booster pack or something (and not just a glowing eyes version).

Dude, calm down. I think you mistook my point. My point was anyone who played heroclix has suffered through horrible quality control and products so we know and understand the pain. Did you think I was being unsympathetic? Sheesh. And btw they also released $200 giant figures like Galactus, not just 3” figures.
And just to set the record straight, I am all for Super 7 addressing these QC issues, especially with Tygra and Grune.

Here is a pic showing how the left forearm bands should match the boots and pad as shown in the prototype. In this picture it looks as if they actually got the remainder of the actual boot color wrong as it seems to match the lighter color on the leotard.

The first picture is the blue prototype digitally recoloured. I don’t this there was a physical example in green until production.
Decided I couldn’t keep Mumm Ra and Grune stock, so I cracked the paints out.
Mumm-Ra repainted and neck peg extended. Material removed at the shoulder so he can raise his arms properly. Material removed at all rub points to prevent wear.
Grune repainted yellow areas and rear armour plates, legs fixed.

I like the Mumm-Ra and Grune repaints. I was hoping that Ma-Mutt would be repainted also, as his colors are teal and tan. I’ve seen Grim’s enhanced/colored ThunderCats model sheets, and I believe their cel colors represent the characters the best.

I’ll likely get to him, he’s mainly there to contrast how much Mumm-Ra has been altered. I also think the shading on him is a bit much.
So Mumm-Ra’s bandages are fully removable? It wouldn’t be easy to repaint him if it’s not removable.
