Are you saying that they went back to the Mattel factory for the corrections and not the Super7 factory? I thought that wave 2 was moved to Super7’s factory when they got sent back to China for the corrections. It could be that I got it mixed or misremembered but if they did go back to Mattel then no wonder they’ve turned out this way. Sending them back to the very place where they botched in the first place is not a great idea. I don’t like the fact that this Super7 line started at a Mattel factory. Mattel have been terrible with this line, particularly since it became a Super7 product.
Yes, I suppose it would be easy to put it on Mattel if Super7 did screw up because Mattel already has form for that so it could very well be that Super7 might do that. At this point, who can you trust? I’d say neither.
I thought I had it right about the re-tooling.
Granted it could be the wording in the e-mail but the way it’s worded would suggest that after the delays they had decided to use their usual factory that was producing wave 3 and 4. Of course those factories have also had some issues.
“As many of you know, this wave of ThunderCats ULTIMATES! was purposely sent to the original factory that produced Wave 1. This is a much larger factory and our orders became less of a priority than their other larger clients. Unfortunately, as a result, our production has been bumped around quite a bit (to say the least). Because of this decision, we switched production back to our primary factory. ThunderCats ULTIMATES! Wave 3 has already shipped from this factory and ThunderCats ULTIMATES! Wave 4 is scheduled to be shipped in September. This means both Wave 3 and Wave 4 will arrive in your hands before Wave 2, which is currently scheduled to leave the factory in November 2021.

Same here. I don’t see why the first two waves had to be made at Mattel’s factory or why they had to have major QC issues just because they are the first two waves nor do I see why they should be transitional. Super7 didn’t need to find their stride, they have made ultimates before and figures have been made in this style for over a decade. It isn’t new action figure technology. These factories are supposed to know what they’re doing. People pay a premium to get the product they are promised. People just want what they paid for. This line should have started as it means to go on. The first two waves are important because not only do you have big fan favourites and main characters but they’re also the launching pad for the toyline.
ok…this wave done completely at mattels factory…with a huge delay…what is the excuse for the extra delay?..i dont buy the retooling thing…they all came worst

The person did a live unboxing of Mumm-Ra and the forearms were indeed corrected so his arms are fine. and he measures 9 inches tall.

yes indeed…and the legs are correct too thankfully…its a pity he looks really bad-ass! and i cant wait to get him in my hands! …but the issues are there bad quality plastic bad cape design and bad paint …i know they are just toys…but ultimates…i cant wait for the second booster pack to make an appearance…speculations…a proper painted sword of plantar tygras elbow band glowing eyes tygra head glowing eyes pumyra head and a new pair of briefs for grune . mumm ra out… 3 more to go! i guess next review will be pumyra the least defected of the them…
He’s gonna unbox the RED Tygra tonight.
He said maybe he might. A lot were asking for Tygra Tuesday but he has a wife and kids and can only do reviews and stuff in his spare time. He might do it tonight if he can but don’t be disappointed if he doesn’t.
The arm band is not good on Tygra. The attention to detail just isn’t happening all the way through. I think it is safe to say we are good to be done with the old factory.
I think we need to see more before jumping to too many conclusions. I don’t really have any issues so far beyond Tygra’s arm band and maybe his colors out of package (need to see more).

If they fixed Tygra’s forearm… why didn’t they fix his bicep?
How many people work at Super7?
Nobody was able to compare the figure with the prototype?
Nobody knows the property or the characters?
Did no one read the hundreds of comments and images on social media and forums that addressed this issue?
These issues have been frequent, what a disappointment. The colors are a constant problem too, someone tell Super7 that animation cels exist to obtain accurate colors.
It’s unacceptable, are overpriced figures and they took 2 years, too long for the poor product they will deliver.
Re: grune’s hips. I THINK the problem is the way he’s shoved in the box. It looks like his chest/belt are a separate piece from his trunks - his chest/belt is turned to our right, but the trunks seem to be facing directly forward. If the trunks can come down and his upper legs are turned out like they should be (instead of turned as far in as the “pads” will allow, all jamming up his… parts package), i think the hip joints are well covered while allowing enough room for articulation.
Looking at the legs, too - i think the pinless joints have a horizontal swivel just by virtue of the joint being single vertical plug pin. Again, just my guess, but i think that “knee” swivel is just off center. If that’s the case, that extra swivel there will be awesome. Marvel Legends’ pinless figures have that type of articulation at the knees and elbows… I think?

I don’t know, but the knees looks very messed up. If it’s due to the swivel, it is definitely and odd design choice. Like Hasbro, NECA and Mattel they would be better having the knee cap over the top of the joint rather than Super 7’s Thundercats knee joint. Oddly enough some of the TMNT figures have the knee over the top of the joint.
Even in the image from back in August when the sent the figures back the factory, Grune’s hips looked the same.
I respectfully disagree on that. It’s not a 1:1 comparison because of the angle on the old picture, but there looks to be a few mm’s less of a gap, a noticeable variation at least - which doesn’t prove anything, but the variation there gives me more reason to believe its a rubber undies problem.
But i think we both strongly agree in it not even being ballpark for the proto’s hips.
I guess we will each have to decide for ourselves once we get the wave of figures in hand. I have to admit the one picture of Grune in box does look odd at the hips.
I’m not making excuses for anyone but just my personal observation is that from the prototype which had no articulation to the actual working toy the thigh pads might have prevented a lot of the leg articulation if the loin cloth came down further over those ball sections. It could also just be this ones loin cloth got trimmed too much at the factory. I’ll only know once I receive my wave 2 set.

We haven’t seen the Tygra figure out side of the box yet, so we don’t know if the elbow pad is there or not.
I see you using the prototypes in your comparisons a lot and you should not compare a non articulated resin prototype to an actual working toy because a lot of variables take place between the two at a toy factory.
HArd to say but the hips definitely don’t look like the prototype.
