Two mini-spoilers
Tygra has his green armor before leaving ThunDera.
Kit and Kat have the same red circles as the ThunderCats, before joining them.
I was thinking of that too, and liked it. I liked that this time it was Tygra the sympathetic one, while Lion-O rejected the kittens.
Whaty I donm’t get is why he’s not turning invisible against that octopus or whatever it is (ok, I know in the OS he didn’t turn invisible in a lot of situations it would have been useful either).
Lion-o’s a dick! I think Tygra is more sympathetic to the kittnes because he was an orphan too. But kittne cuteness!
[spoiler]They probably salvaged the same red circles as the Thundercats from the ruins of Thundera. Reminds me of Seven Samurai when Kikuchiyo showed the other Samurai his stolen or salvaged scroll that was supposed to prove that he was a samurai too.
As for Lion-O and Tygra’s reactions to the Thunderkittens, I was a bit surprised. Whatever happened to Lion-O’s “acting like a prince”? How is abandoning your countrypeople princely?
I had originally assumed that Tygra would be the pragmatic one and say something like “they’ll only slow us down, you have to be practical Lion-O”, but judging by the first video it seems they’re going to play the Ahab-esque vengeance obsession to the hilt until Lion-O learns an important lesson during the course of the episode.[/spoiler]
I doubt it. Anything like that they would have salvaged would have been too big for them. I don’t exactly see them cutting something like that down to fit their size.
Not of they got them from a Noble’s house or something. Might be common for the Nobles to clothe their children with the circles. They thought they were the only survivors so they’d have no issue trying to find the best clothes they could.
Oh, my God, Lion-O is so insensitive in this one! I will admit that I felt pretty bad for the kittens, especially when they were meowing for their prince’s sympathy. I will also say that the kittens are just so adorable in this series! They’ve already won me over with their overall cuteness and meowing, which is a lot more than I was expecting originally, especially after getting a first glimpse of the kittens’ character designs and age differences from the OS.
I am surprised that Lion-O didn’t show the kittens any compassion, like he did towards the captured lizards, of all things. They’re his PEOPLE, for goodness sake! -Worse yet, they’re children! ::grr::
Now, it’s understood why Tygra showed some compassion towards the kittens and something tells me that we might just be right; Tygra and the kittens will have a strong relationship with each other, since they were all orphans. Additionally, I think the kittens’ presense will remind both Tygra and Lion-O to be more humble.
In Lion-O’s defense, he’s gonna be going up against Mumm-Ra, Grune, and the Lizards. He might’ve thought they’d be safer on their own. Though he could’ve turned them down a little easier.
I don’t like accessing this board on my phone, so slow, but anyway…
AGH!!! I just saw the video of the kids meeting up with the others. I did NOT see that coming! Wow.
Gotta say, Lion-O who I thought rocked in the premiere has just taken a fall. Wow. I get he’s upset and all but how self-centered.
Tygra - yay! Loved his maturity and response to the kids. There’s the Tygra I always loved!
Lion-O had me downright startled in the first clip. The only reasoning I could think of is according to the episode summary is that he seems to want to go straight for Mumm-ra, not the best place for the kids… But, it’s still a stretch..
And, Code of Thundera, I agree about the phone thing.

To be honest I love the way Lion-O reacted. It shows his determination to avenge the death of his father. He is a young “fighter” who let himself lead by his feelings of anger and sadness. It’s just “human”. Often younger people act more visceral and without thinking about what they are about to do! It just shows how much Lion-O has to learn.
But I understand his reaction. Would someone I love get hurt I would possibly react the same!
Images look cool! I can’t wait for tomorow night, I haven’t been this excited for a new show in quite some time. Hopefully within the next week we will have actual toys in the stores nearbye.
I liked that Tygra was still being even-headed in this one, though I don’t know if I like him rolling over for Lion-O the way he did.
As for the squid monster, I’m not sure turning invisible against a bunch of sightless tentacles would have done him much good (unless those red bits were eyes?).
Gotta say, I’m wondering if it shows them getting the new outfits. Maybe the ep starts with them sneakily moving through the city finding them? Dunno.
Also, isn’t it a bit dangerous for them to just be walking from the entrance of the city? What happened to the lizards that were there??
And last of all, Kit’s comment on thinking they were the last cats, man I hope that doesn’t mean all cats but them really were wiped out, that’d be depressing..

I think Tygra lost his whip after Mumm-Ra took over (the one with the two jewels), so he’s stuck with just the gun for now. He’ll probably get a new whip (the one with the three balls) when they meet Panthro, or maybe a little sooner than that.
I wonder if the scenes of the group running and fighting the lizards through the woods are in this episode. I know Wily Kat gets his weapon (called a Flink) by then because I could see it.
And last of all, Kit’s comment on thinking they were the last cats, man I hope that doesn’t mean all cats but them really were wiped out, that’d be depressing..
I’m going to guess that there are a lot of scattered survivors that the kittens aren’t aware of. They’re probably basing their assumption on the shelter getting hit by a missile and by everyone else being in hiding when they make their way through the city.
