…I think it really is cancelled. :o
I did see that. I didn’t think much of it, though.
Wow…I feel dead inside…
Right on the day I posted my tribute intro too.
He’s still not saying it’s cancelled, but this is not the sort of thing I wanted to see.
I saw this earlier today… It does make me sad…Final-O…sort of like a premonition. Oh well.
Maybe it’s the last Lion-O he’ll draw because there will be other characters to draw?
He also had a “sad” smiley on that post. It is rather ominous. I think this might be his way of saying it without actually saying it.
I’m a sad panda.
Yes another Mind F@#$ from one of the cast and crew. Thank you, but unless your legally obligated not to say anything (and please just tell us that) a little candid honesty would be refreshing, I think the loyal fans at least deserve that at a minimum.
What would be the reason for having to keep it secret? Are the higher ups afraid that if people thought it was cancelled, they would stop buying whatever merchandise is left?
The series is still airing internationally and does have other merchandising partners, so any sort of announcement about a cancellation would undercut their business and possibly be a breach of any sort of licensing agreement.
I just don’t understand. Why hasn’t CN been treating this show right?! It’s been getting decent ratings! Bandai is still backing it up, despite the rumors. The crew still want to keep making it, the voice actors are behind it, there are at least 8,000 people who want it to keep going. I just…what the heck is wrong here? If Cartoon Network is having a problem with this show, it only has itself to blame for not putting it in a decent time slot in the first place and never advertising the show like it should have. People WANT this show to keep going. They will pay money for it. Despite such little advertising it HAS a lot of fans! Why can’t CN see that this deserves to keep going?!
Look up DA’s MyBe1oved. Rant time!
That’s an incredible Lion-O drawing, but I’m not gonna give up on “ThunderCats.”
I really believe that Cartoon Network has awaken a sleeping giant that is the TC fanbase.
Unfortunately Thundercats has been its own worst enemy. With quality animation/production/writing/acting comes a great expense. This show was expected to be the next big cartoon, when that didn’t happen (and lets be honest the ratings compared to other shows and networks were not great) who was going to pay for the next season. Blame who you want for the execution of the show (just not here) but the show doesn’t make money. CN network while far from blameless in this situation, still has to turn a profit at the end of the day to stay in business. Investing money in an EXPENSIVE show that does not return anything is not good business. That’s why the show is in this position.
I really want the story to continue at least in comic form. I don’t like how it “ended”, it’s a total cliffhanger.
Whoever decided such a cancellation is plain stupid, they don’t realize how large the fanbase is and the legacy the original franchise left.
I hope that some other company takes over and treats the ThunderCats better. I wish one day our favorite franchise keeps living on like the Transformers or the TMNT.
They can’t be serious? After all the hard work they are gonna throw in the towel?
I think confidentiality clauses would prevent anyone from saying anything definitive. It will be in CNs power alone to make a final announcement, and maybe they never will. I do feel as if DN is trying to indicate what is going on between the lines. I give him credit for that.
I agree. I said the same thing about that podcast he did a while back. Sounds like he’s trying to let us know whats up, without saying too much. I respect him for trying to communicate with us. He’s a great guy.
It sounds like The Pirates of Dark Water all over again.
