Yeah this is plausible I guess. Still it seemed to me that they were able to travel back and forth to New Thundera in relatively too short of a timespan. Like a trip to grandma’s house. On a planet that was supposed to be in a different galaxy.

Yeah, and in the capsules, Tygra aged, from probably mid 20s to mid 30s, during the pilot…
I always saw Tygra as the oldest of the original group, though I couldn’t say why. Goodness knows if that’s true after the fountain of youth bit, though. Come to think, physically, they could be whatever age they want with both the fountain and the cave of time.
These were the bumpers I was thinking of and I believe Lion-O was listed as 24, Kit and Kat 12 and Tygra was 25 or 26.
That doesn’t feel right to me for Tygra. If I were to put actual ages on them, it would be…
Panthro - 40
Tygra - 36
Cheetara - 30
Lion-O - 12 then 25
Kit & Kat - 12
For me it would be more like:
Tygra → 32
Cheetara → 30
Panthro → 35
Lion-O → 13/23
Kittens → 20 (no significant aging)
Snarf → 50
Bengali → 27
Pumyra → 24
Lynx-O → 70
I don’t think you can always automatically associate maturity with age. Tygra could be an early 30 something cat, but not much older than that.
Going to derail it a bit more, but:
Prior to the last few decades…like the 1990s on, before science became something interesting to watch on basic cable packages, few people knew much about science, even scifi writers, and usually just wrote what they knew of (very little) and used terms they thought were cool.
In the 1980s and before, especially since the Hubble telescope wasn’t in the population’s view, people associated the term ‘galaxy’ with ‘another solar system’.
So when they say galaxy in the old cartoons and old scifi novels, chances are they don’t literally mean Milky Way, Andromeda, M88, or any of the other thousands or millions of true galaxies, chances are they mean another solar system in our galaxy, but they didn’t know the proper terminology, or the fact that other galaxies exist (remember, the Milky Way was ‘it’ for the whole universe up until the late part of the 20th century for the common people, and even many scientists!).
On the topic of Tygra: He seems the eldest to me, after Jaga and Jagara and the true ancients. It might be because he was more the ‘hands off’ kind of guy, doing the engineering and architecture and not adventuring so much, but he always seemed older than Panthro, who was very active.
Just to keep things on track, we’re talking about the ages as listed in the 90’s Toonami broadcast bumpers. Cheezey has listed the ones for Cheetara and Panthro so if anyone has ones for Tygra and the others, I’d love to see them.
I just found some old notes from the Toonami era and found their ages.:
Lion-O - 24
Panthro - 32
Tygra - 28
Cheetara - 26
Wiley Kit and Kat - 12
That solves the answer, 28 and i can’t believe Lion-O is 24.

I never would’ve guessed that Panthro is older than Tygra! Anyways, here’s my personal thought of them from oldest to youngest: Jaga, Lynx-O, Snarf, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Lion-O, Bengali, Pumyra, Wilykit/kat, Snarfer.
Really? It always seemed to me that Panthro was older, only that Tygra was the science guy with an “older soul”. Kind of Skippy and the Porfessor in “Gilligan’s Island” lol
There was a reaosn for that: Tygra was always the captured one, right? Had they made him the oldest, the show would have indirectly give themessage of oldest = useless/incompetent, so making not the oldest guy who gets captured was a better thing (just like it wasn’t Cheetara because she was teh female… those shows took too much care of those issues in order to not appear like prejudiced). JMO.
Snarfer ddi graduate Snarf College, so i’d say he’s at least 22. Possibly older than Bengali and Pumyra. Definitly older than Wily Kit/Kat

I always thought of their ages something like this:
Panthro - mid-late 40s
Tygra - early-mid 40s
Cheetara - mid-30s
Lion-O - early 20s
Kit & Kat - 12
It looks like I thought of them as older figures than anyone here so far, lol.
I guess that’s because, being closest in age to the ThunderKittens when I first watched the show (like most of us were), I strongly related the others to them as “aunt/uncle-figures” and guardians, and Cheetara reminded me of one of my aunts a lot (especially when my aunt wore big glasses that were in a weird way sort of “Cheetara eye-marks” for her, lol)
I so wanted Tyra and Cheetara to be my uncle and aunt! lol :cheetara: :tygra:
And I wanted WilyKat for a friend, lol :wilykat:
Interesting topic - but dependent on one thing:
We don’t know how their ageing/life spans work. For all we know, Cheetara could be a hundred years old. We just assume parallel ageing patterns to us because we have no confirmation either way.
But on the assumption that they have life spans equivalent to ours, my own assessment would be:
Panthro - about 50
Tygra - early to mid 30s
Cheetara - 30 or just approaching
Lion-O - 22 when they land on Third Earth. This one we can say for a fact - we know from “The Time Capsule” that he was 12 at the start of “Exodus”, and from “The Unholy Alliance” that he spent “ten galacto-years in a suspension capsule”.
Kittens - hard to say because the writers could never make up their minds about their maturity - Jaga said that even they could teach Lion-O a thing or two, and he does have an annointment trial against them, on the other hand “The Time Capsule”, “Mongor” and “The Trouble With Thunderkittens” all paint them as kids.
Lynx-O - 70 or even older is fair
Bengali - probably around 26-27
Pumyra - a shade less than Bengali
Which reminds me - I didn’t see any suspension capsules on that Berbil ship in “Thundercats Ho” - but presumably there must have been some either that or the Berbil ship can travel a lot faster than the Thundercats. The Berbils certainly didn’t consider Third Earth to be a long way away, so this creates a problem with their ageing or not ageing . . .
I think Bengali is younger than Pumyra; at least according to the Lair’s encyclopedia.
The original series stated Lion-O was 12 years old, so when his suspension capsul “malfunctioned,” he was 22.
