They should let him collect an arsenal and let him be able to switch out the right gun for the right job. And sorry fans of the orginal show, I’d love to see a whip upgrade to a 9 Section. He’s not trying to control roudy innocent civilians populations any more. A 9 Section is not only beautiful but a very deadly weapon.
I think they REALLY need to sharpen up the wit. Tygra was incredibly intelligent. Give him no tolerance for idiots or something and that includes his brother at times. Have some fun with Tygra asking once an in while “Are you ordering me as my brother or king?” Type of thing. Leap off the dry humor we saw Tygra demonstrate in the OS. I can deal with the role they gave him but right now he’s just there.
Since we’ve seen nothing that would actually justify some of the snide stuff that’s coming out of Lion-o’s mouth. It’s actually him that’s coming off as very unrational in this regard. For the very light hard time we’ve seen Tygra give him we’ve seen Tygra stand by him when he went off the rails in episode 3. Stand up to Pathro regarding Lion-o being their king. So where exactly is Lion-o getting this? It’s not making sense at all.
Can he turn invisible independent of the whip? We’ve seen him crack the whip to turn invisible twice. Then there was episode where he turned invisible off screen; we were assuming he didn’t have the whip at the point, but apparently he did. Seems like the whip cracking sets the whole thing in motion.
I like him being able to turn invisible w/o the whip too. Not a fan of alsers or rifles thought.
And to think they compeltely changed his character to make him moer interesting… they’re not in the right way. I mean, yes, he’s an interestring character… when we get to see him.
I want him tro be the wise architect again.
Thta! I said the same last week… so far he is the Eric of the group, like when he fell and Panthro grabbed him upside down by the ankle… too much of an Eric moment, same as when Panthro told him to shut the mouth because he was drooling.
I think they’re turning him into the jerk who always gets it wrong and serves as a comic relief. I hope they quit that soon and give us our beloved, cool, smart, fierce and architect Tygra.
I think in the first episode there were some moments where Tygra did underestimaate Lion-o, and gave us a hint of it being like as they grew up.
But you’re right, since Lion-o was anointed Lord, Tygra hasn’t done it (one thing is to question his decissions, and another one to underestimate him, but people don’t seem to see the difference); I even think he’s acting more supportive than he feels.
I’ve noticed that too, that he cracks the whip everytime before turning invisible. Although the wrapping in the OS was nice and had a kind of mystic around it, I like that he can do it by himself (which -I repeat- he could also do in the OS; see “Exodus”, “Pumm-Ra”, the trial of mind power, and even “Mongor” I think).
Ah actually I might concede that it is better if he can turn invisible independently…after all, cheetara is fast without her weapon, Panthro strong without his…so makes sense for tygra to stealth without the whip.
However Iam still not a fan of the gun, could have been a throwing weapon (ninja star, shurikan (sp?), etc) instead IMO.
I’ve heard a few peeps refer to the 9 - piece whip, n even tho it is clearly deadlier, if they allow the whip to create fire etc as in the OS I think it’s still formidabble enough (p.s bring back the 3rd weight )

And yes… Captain Tygus is a very well designed character IMO and is what I imagined (and hoped) the new Tygra would be like.
The cats being racist is a major element of the series. Tygrus was close to Mumm-Ra (though not as close as Leo) and given Mumm-Ra was all about cat superiority, Tygrus likely agreed.
Ah, I see. As someone who likes Tygra’s new design much, much more than his old one, though, I’m not exactly complaining about new!Tygra not looking exactly like old!Tygra :). But Tygus does have a gorgeous design.
The way I took it was that Tygus simply didn’t think a rebellion would work, not that he was necessarily loyal to Mumm-Ra.
There was absolutely no indication wither or not he was in any way racist. You didn’t hear him say anything bad about anyone else.
All you heard him say was that he didn’t think Leo could unify the animals.
You can’t force the views of one character onto another just because he worked for him. The cat’s might’ve been higher on the food chain, but they were still just as much slaves as the other animals.
That’s a fair point, though I think the fact Leo had to pull a gun on him probably says a lot.
Claudus is a racist, yes. Tygra also shows prejudice, but I think he’s young enough that it can be quietly conquered (or he might not care) and it might be more of a political thing than a racial thing. But he is still, to some degree, a bigot. Panthro doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who’d give a crap, but we don’t know. Lion-O is not. Cheetara probably isn’t.
Jaga, however, doesn’t strike as racist. If he is, he hid it fairly well. Or he’s like how Balgus described Tygrus (which I’m not saying is wrong) and felt the cats having the Book of Omens was vital by virtue of circumstance. But if Jaga was more of a mentor than Claudus was to Lion-O, he was likely very open minded.
If I were Tygus, and I didn’t think a rebellion would work. . .
I believe he would realize that if it didn’t work, and he was the one that lost the stone, Mumm-Ra would punish him for it. And Mumm-Ra doesn’t seem like the lenient type to me. And so, of course, Leo would have to force him into giving him the stone. I believe his anger at Leo was justified.
