IMO, this whole episode was really unfair to Tygra’s character.
It made it look like his knowledge was worth nothing and he ahd to eat his words, and from now on he will think it twice before contradicing Lion-o. It was disappointing in Tygra’s regards.
Yeah I see that too. I wanted them to highlight Tygra’s strengths, and then hone in on his weaknesses. I was hoping that weakness would be compassion.
Lion-O may struggle with the technical stuff, but Tygra can help with that.
Lion-O in turn will help Tygra develop empathy.
What was all of that training and hard work for if he’s just another Lion-O, except this version cant use the sword? I always felt like that was the purpose of having a group. You can catch each other up. So much for learning from his friends:confused:.
We got to hear him shout “ThunderCats, ho!” at least. WilyKit said it in “Between Brothers.”

Tygra’s weakness is failure. He always strives to prove himself and succeeds that when he screws up his brain sort of shuts down and can’t make that next leap.
Lion-O is used to failure, so he can adjust his plan and move on to the next step on the fly.
Tygra should’ve been portrayed as a thoughtful, intelligent leader in Lion-O’s absence. That’s what I expected from “Trials of Lion-O” Part 2.
Agree, the episode was really unfair to Tygra. Even it was obviously that this episode will become a shining episode for Lion-O, but IMO it was too much at the cost of Tygra. He failed and Lion-O came to rescue them.
I rewatched both trial episodes and I think Tygra did a decent job as leader. He was always able to make a decissions; he admit that the surprise attack is not a perfect plan, but they owe to Lion-O to try. BTW Lion-O used the same strategy at the final fight and then it worked out.
I’m sure Tygra learned his lesson: realizing the pressure on Lion-O.
How do you think will the realtionship of Lion-O and Tygra continue? Is the rivalry over? I can’t wait for the next episode “Native Son”.

Not a tygra fan (he’s kinda cool but a bit too arrogant imo) but I have to agree his personality got too manhandled just for the sake of building up Lion-o for once, kinda disappointing. They coulda been more subtle about the whole ‘lion-o is a good king afterall’.
That’s what I say… too unfair to poor Strippey.
Seriously though, it’s time the brothers start building each other up instead of tearing one another down and I’m hoping that Native Son does just that. Perhaps a short scene around the fire where Tygra confesses his own failings as a leader and Lion-O assures him that he did as well as anyone could and he’s proud of his brother for keeping the Cats going in their darkest hour.
I wouldn’t be adverse to Tygra finding out he’s the long lost king of the Tiger clan and being tempted to stay with them. Lion-O could then use Cheetarah as an argument against that, showing that he’s accepted their relationship and has moved on.
This is what I hoped to see by the end of last week’s ep. Hope they do it this week.
If he truly means it this time, it would be great. For everyone, but mostly for Lion-O himself.

I am really hoping that we’ll get at least some kind of nod to last week’s ep in Native Son. I think having Tygra in Lion-O’s shoes briefly will lead to him being more supportive of Lion-O’s decisions and being constructively critical instead of just critical when Lion-O suggests yet another bad idea. Maybe Lion-O likewise will listen to feedback more.
Since the ep description specifically names Lion-O and Tygra in finding the lost city, maybe they are already getting along better and putting the sibling rivalry behind them.
