I wasn’t meaning fanfics, but the suggestions and doubts that fans post in these threads. For example, if they read here that most fans want to learn about Lion-o’s mother, or Tygra’s biological parents and how he was adopted, and they decide to include it, it wouldn’t be illegal, will it? They wouldn’t be stealing a plot or an idea, just taking a popular concern and responding to it.
But lets get back to our striped friend

When people have asked in the past about Lion-O’s mother or where Tygra came from the crew has said “keep watching” so I assume they’ll have both in the show eventually.
Not only do they read the forums now, I believe they also read them before they started the show for research.

Going onto the two topics of Tygra’s origin and the fanfiction thing.
C’mon writers…coming up with a valid origin tale isn’t hard. I’ve seen various authors come up with background stories for characters that are simply creative and well thought out. Why canon, specially american canon, tends to have such a hard time with this it’s beyond me.
A few episodes could be made to dedicate to Tygra and Lion-O’s origins and background.
So I do hope you guys are reading and taking into account our comments. Because it can be sad when fanon can out do canon. <_<

i love the new tygra, especailly the new armor, dont get me wrong, i like the os tygra and his look too, as a matter of fact i almost bought the new 8 inch classics based on how colorful and vibrant he is, it really is a nice figure. i passed on him for the 4 inch panthro, and i bought something for my step son. i do wish they would have him use his whip a little more, but hey, im happy to have the character the way he is so far. i do have a question, ive seen the os show as akid and recently, i never knew he was next in line to be lord of the thundercats? it makes sense in the new school, but not in the old school, was tygra and lion-o brothers in the old school show too? if not, how is it that he was next in line? :liono
I think it might be because Jaga appointed him as Head of the TC Council (as was said in “Pumm-Ra”), and Lion-o always had Jaga’s mind in a high place.
Or, it just might only be that Tygra was the only one around when Lion-o got into the volcano in “All that Glitters” and he had to point out someone as the next Lord, and sdefinitely is wasn’t going to be Snarf 
I mean, how wouod Tygra have felt of Lion-o told him “if I don’t come back, tell Panthro he will be the next Lord of the TCs” lol
But seriously, I think in at least the first eps, Tygra had a big importance in the show and was the sure choice. Even in the intro section, he wa always the first one to show up, both when they show the TCs faces, and when they show them fighting the Mutants.
Err I would hope Lion-O would name a Thundercat the next lord based on things that mattered and not because someone happened to be there and would feel bad if they weren’t chosen, what about the safety of the group thrown away because someone not suited for the role was named Lord of the Thundercats?? I don’t think any of the cats would expect a role given to them because they happened to be there, they all know who they are and what they stand for and I’m pretty sure if there was a question of suitability no one would be quiet about it. After all truth, honor, justice, loyalty has gotta be worth something here right…??
I’m pretty sure Tygra was named next in line due to his wisdom and sense of responsibility, if you notice the others even Panthro often turn to Tygra for advice and judgement calls especially in the first season, they trust him and I think would follow him without question if something happened to Lion-O heck if not for that pesky addiction weakness Tygra would probably be as perfect a candidate as possible.
Errr… I was just kidding with that, that’s why I said Lion-o would trust Jaga’s judgement in naming him Head of Council, it wasn’t for free I’m sure
I know he was the best/perfect candidate… maybe a little to overthoughtful (does that word exist? lol), but he’d definitely be a better choice over Panthro and Cheetara (I’m not counting the others as they weren’t noble after all).

Hmm good question but if there is I don’t think we’ve been told yet about it.
Don’t think so. They were pretty much thrown together as a group. They weren’t already a group like in the OS.
One thing the crew has kept saying is that everything they get they kinda have to build up to or earn. Like the Symbols or the eyes lighting up. Some things that they had from the start in the OS comes later.
It sounds like when they truly learn to trust each other, the red circles will change to the Thundercat symbols we remember from the OS.
We have not seen a ThunderCats council in the new show. I always thought the ThunderCat council in the OS seemed a bit strange considering it was just them and they were all a part of the council. I don’t see them being that formal in this new series. Perhaps if the re-establish Thundera after finding survivors they would create a council then?
I don’t think so, they’re merely a group of Thunderians right now… it might come later.
I wonder if Lion-o will trust Tygra and name him Head of Council like in the OS, or he will go for Pantrho or Lynx-o (based in both age/wisdom and rivalry)? Although he might appoint his brother, both because he’s a prince as well after all, and in a way of saying “we can share it after all”.

Mmm… good point CoT. A Councuil is a group of people gathered to take decissions… if all the inhabitants of a country/city form the Council, I don’t know if it’s still called a Council, but is necessary whatever form it takes anyway.
What I didn’t understand in the OS was this: Tygra was Head of Council (although we only saw him assuming that position in “Pumm-Ra”), and he decided to give Pumm-Ra one week probation, but still Lion-o had to approve his decision, or at least giove it an “ok”. The idea/function of a Council is to control/rule/fiscalize a governor’s, not to ask his permission for what it decides, although they have to work together. The governor/president/king/lord/whatever is the maximim individual authority, but the Council is the maximum collective authority, and is above the former, so why did Lion-o have to apporve it I don’t get.
Councils don’t always override the main authority. Many times they’re just advisers or administrators. For example in a school the Principal still completely overrides the Student Council.
As for why there was a council, I always assumed they were a council on Thundera before they came to Third Earth since each of the Thundercats in the OS were nobles.
Right. But it’s a different situation. Of course, in a school, students will never be above the Principal, but a Parents Council might.
In other words, this is an advisory council to help the king make the best decision for everyone.
It might be the wisest decision to have Panthro to head this NS one. :panthro: +
