He probably is if Lion-O dies and he doesn’t have an heir. If he does have an heir that is a child, then he may end up taking over until the child is of age.

Just posted an idea in the latest episode thread and thought maybe it could be a topic for discussion here:
What if upon finding the spirit stone in the astral plane, Tygra receives it and uses it to enhance his bolowhip, giving it magical powers such as Cheetara’s staff now has?? He could then do some stuff as in the OS like create flames and fireballs etc. (and this would add a 3rd ‘tail’ to his whip so as the OS whip has 
)
Perhaps a similar thing could happen with the next spirit stone and Panthro’s Numchuks which so far have shown no magical properties.
What d we think folks?
I just had this thought. What if Tygra’s powers of invisibility were granted to his clan by Mumm-Ra for their loyalty for the purpose of spying on the other Cats and reporting back to him?
Hmmm interesting theory, tho it’s been hinted at by the writers that he needs the whip to turn invisible (unless that’s been handed down generation to generation). I still like the theory that Jaga granted him that magical power, but still goof effort on the theorising!
I too like the idea that the gift was given to him by Jaga, I’m just not feeling that’s where this series is headed with them talking about Tygra being filled with darkness. Would be interesting if Tygus was given the bolowhip by Mumm-Ra. It clearly has magical properties. Cheetara’s staff didn’t really seem to possess much magic until she got the new one and we haven’t seen Panthro’s nunchuks do anything magical yet, they’re just plain, ordinary nunchuks.
If the bolowhip was given to Tygus, that would be a pretty good indication that Tygra is his direct decendant and if that’s so, there’s probably a dark history associated with Tygra that perhaps even Tygra doesn’t yet know about and perhaps that will come out in the Astral Plane and Mumm-Ra will reveal it to Tygra.
Which leads me to another thought about the elephant’s warning that by the next evening Lion-O would know a betrayal like none other that he had ever seen before in Tygra…
What if there was some kind of magical contract between Tygus and Mumm-Ra making Tygus and his descendants loyal to Mumm-Ra. What if the betrayal the elphant forsaw was not a betrayal towards Lion-O but a betrayal towards Mumm-Ra?

I thought little Tygra was adorable. The funny part is he actned nothing like I would have expected him to. Driving home that he really is full of insecurities and doubt about himself.

Wasn’t it some of the OS fans that said Tygra came across as highly insecure ? I think were seeing in the NS too. He obviously hides his insecurities behind a fake wall of confidence and bravado. He couldn’t even sit with Cheetara. He had to hide behind a statue like he was afraid of something. Though he mustard up enough courage to leave her flower. I thought it was cute. To me it looked like he was fighting against his very scared little boy nature because he seen how down and out she was.
OMAHGOD! When he was driving the tank! That was sexy, I dont care who judges me. Also he didnt just go on the opposition because he wanted to fight Lion-O’s command. He did so because he has enough military know how to know the chances of different militant attacks succeeding. Glad to see his plan worked out.
I am really hoping the vision was a red herring. Either Tygra has no control over himself or the elephant interpreted the vision the wrong way.
Well at least we know his feelings are genuine. There not a product of another rivalry with Lion-O. That was one of my main concerns when it came to the love triangle business.
I think this is possible and like it. The Elephant said Lion-o will know a betrayal from Tygra, he enver said Tygra will betray Lion-o. Interesting.
I also like Bolo’s idea of the whip and invisible powers passing on generations of tigers.
I’m afraid every Thuderian see tugers as proud, and even more, everyone seems to distrust Tygra. I think Jaga made it evident with th look he sent little Tygra at the Celrics Temple’s door; the Elephant man with his warning; even Cheetara and Lion-o hsa shown it soemtimes, although Lion-o made it clear that he doesn’t think Tygra will betray him.
I hope this betrayal thing is not what they think (following CoT’s theory) and that by the end of the day Tygra will prove everybody wrong about him. After all, we’ve seen his caring for Cheetara, for the kittens when Lion-o wnated to turn his back on them, and for Snarf several times. How can a “dark-sided” person act so in contradction with that sdark side?
Not only that. I’m thinking another theory:
He was afraid to get close to Cheetara because he feared her rejection. Think of it, he was adopted. We don’t know the events that took to his adoption, but many adopted kids hold the fantasy that their parents didn’t want them, that they rejected them.
Maybe Tygra fears rejection over all. He even was rejected by the sword, if we can say it that way. And as I’ve said before, even when in appearence he had Claudus’ favoritism, we never heard Claudus telling him something nice directly as he did with Lion-o. Yes, he said he thinks Tygra would be a better king, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Claudus actually was proud of Tygra, just that he thought that, being objective, Tygra was more qualified.
Now, about the betrayal thing. We don’t know exactly who and how he’s going to betray. It can very well be Mumm-Ra. In these shows, it is known that prophecies and visions always have a twist. Anet said Lion-o will know a betrayal from his brother as he hasn’t seen before, but he never said Tygra will betray Lion-o. Yes, Lion-o will see a big betrayal from Tygra, but not necessarily towrds him.
I hope because I don’t want Tygra to become the bad guy, not even for half an episode.
Also, I’m afraid if Tygra really goes to the dark side and allies with Mumm-Ra, he might get written off from some eps, and I don’t want that at all.
@Chique: Tygra+tank= OTP now (sorry Panthro). Because he looks so good, and did you see how he whipped it?!
@Tygrarules: that rejection issue could be why he pushed himself so hard to be ‘better’ than his brother. But I think it became more of a motivation over the years, than as much of a fear. Because it was inevitable; Lion-O is Claudus’ son. Period. That is not changing.
Maybe he somehow convinced himself that if he worked hard enough he would be chosen over Lion-O…Knowing his origins, or even just WHEN he came into the royal family would be very helpful with speculating. But I’m guessing ‘Native Son’ will cover that.
The Tygus and Mumm-ra thing seems like it could work. Tygus is missing an eye, maybe Mumm-ra took it and in exchange for Tygus’ life he had him make a contract?

Is he good? Is he evil? Did he try to kill Lion-o when kids? Will he betray him? Will he get Cheetara? Will he not? Will eh leafe the group and be on his own? Will he join Mumm-Ra?

Ooh man, TL;DR to the max :
I think Tygra falls perfectly in that area of gray- he generally acts appropriately in good vs. evil conflicts, however the way he speaks and the way he treats his brother…There of course have been good moments, but there have been far more of those ‘gray’ moments, even times of inaction or silence on his part, especially when Claudus was comparing the two.
I want him and Cheetara to be together- in part because he respects and admires her, so when she speaks, he stops and thinks about what she’s said. He doesn’t just jump up and do it, which I prefer because it shows that he’s a thinker, that he’s his own person, that he doesn’t actually need Cheetara, but he would like to be with her. I like seeing that kind of self-sufficiency and confidence in a person. (Of course I also think that he will be getting the biggest makeover re: personal qualities and values but that’s fine and dandy too :p)
Also, I think she’s more likely to get development away from Lion-O (the flashbacks were more about Cheetara IMO, but Tygra was there). But it’s a kids show and there have been far more substantial hints toward L/C than T/C - in the premiere he met her in the first 10 mins. Me: Doh! I can’t even decide which characters I like before the pairing is put in front of me!
If Tygra did leave on his own, it would be somehow in a fit of rage, because he seems pretty level-headed otherwise (and he would immediately regret it within hours of separation). I could see Lion-O sending him away (“Like really, you tried to kill me when we were kids, GET OUT OF MY FACE”) and it would be completely justified. However, it would also call for Lion-O to see the big picture, that his brother has fought and endangered his own life for his sake. I almost think it would be necessary for Tygra to leave the group at some time. The brothers would probably both come to appreciate and value the other more, once they were suddenly not there.
If Tygra went with Mumm-Ra…I don’t even know. It’s clearly a possibility, but for him to betray the memory of his father and kingdom like that?.. I really can’t imagine it.

I hope we get to see him drive it again. Maybe after last episode Panthro will see that Tygra is capable and they can switch off with the driving duties . Otherwise Crew of Omens is full of teases;)

Maybe Lion-O will believe the worst of his brother and that causes a great falling out? I know I’d be Ticked off if my sibling thought I intended to kill them.
Or it could be 100% true and Tygra will need to do some soul searching . Not necessarily in the Astral Plane, or away from the group. Just some soul searching:cool:

He’s not a traitor, he’s able to admit his mistakes even as a kid, he got to prove to be better than Lion-o (SoO and everything), bit him and then take the high route and save him, he didn’t leave the group and he got the girl!

Yeah, when Lion-O started to fall I was expecting the whip to wrap around the claw shield. It was probably better than he caught him with his hand, though.
“Between Brothers” was a great episode for Tygra.
