I saw that, and agree. I know it isn’t possible with the model but I hope to see them demo the roller action once they have a factory sample.
If S7 is accepting some feedback on the tank, that makes me hopeful.

I actually feel BBTS is the priciest of them all in comparison now in the NA market, that is why I’m still reviewing all partner stores and direct S7 which I should select my preorder within the 2-month window…

Now that we’ve officially crossed the threshold of “cartoon accuracy” where this line is concerned can we revisit Lynx-O and Pumyra’s additional snarl faces and get them fixed to something more appropriate for the characters?
I honestly loved the front of the Thundertank when I saw the first pic that Super7 posted. My doubts arose when I saw the sides, the top and the back, in my opinion the designers took too much liberty to do it, since none of those parts I mentioned match the original model sheet. On the sides we have a flat panel, without angles and other too large panels on it, the mechanical details in the tracks have some hidden pieces (that luckily it is being revised according Brian Flynn). The upper part has several random lines that were never there in the original and the cabin had to follow the lines and the aerodynamics connecting the front with the back, but being more narrow and with strange angles, it cuts the shape in half, reducing dynamism.
I was really hoping they would interpret the design correctly, I know it is not bad to give it a little update and some realistic touches, be it screws, cables, panels, etc… in fact I also miss those details on the roof inside. But it was very important that they focused in the overall original design lines, making it as accurate to we saw in the animated series. This is something we couldn’t get in the vintage collection. I don’t think there will be another opportunity like this in the future.
I wanted to make some adjustments to the Super7 model to bring it closer to the classic model, the result is a kind of mix between both, I would like to read your opinions about it.

Honestly, I don’t have an issue with the lines, they look fine to me, but I do like your change. I don’t see what else you adjusted, can you go through what’s different?

Solid interview, you pulled out some great details like the explanation on why it doesn’t have battle mode, which made sense. Also interesting to hear more about the tread material. I do hope the paws can stay up, that was something I guess I was assuming.
If you have a follow-up, I’d love to know if there was discussion on a metallic finish for the tank, given the cartoon version.

English isn’t my primary language, I tried to explain it the best I could, basically the adjustments I made are the sides, roof and cabin, to bring it closer to the classic ThunderTank.

Watched the whole video and read the new intereview - I like the way this is shaping up a lot. I have no issues with the tank as is, and I consider myself very critical.
It is always about what is delivered, but I have to say I feel like Super7 is making every effort to do great things.

Thought I would weigh in on the Thundertank. I am probably going to buy it. I do think the price is too high. $350 would have been appropriate. I get the tooling, etc. etc. costs a lot. However, I really feel $350 would have brought in a lot more sales for Super 7. I have no issues with the design or size, I think those are great. Just the cost.

You’re very lucky owning the tank.Personally, my chances to get this wonderful and epic Thundetank is slowly falling rock bottom.
It will be equivalent to 690 to 770usd if I pull the trigger here with local suppliers, and i have to pay an equivalent of 190usd upfront to secure a preorder.
Well, rant over, I doubt I will own one but I hope you guys enjoy yours when it arrives next year.

My question is this: if (I think it will) the Thundertank gets enough sales to produce (aren’t the molds already made for this, Brian!???) - it would clearly be a waste for them NOT to, will they do a Cat’s Lair?
The irony is that Brian says vehicles are so much more expensive to produce, so many moving parts, blah blah blah. So Brian - I can only assume the Cat’s Lair would be less, right? It’s a shell of sculpted plastic, some details on the backside, nothing crazy, a sculpted castle lion head, paws that can be lifted up on a hinge, a jail or trap door, and paint. Just wait - we’ll be sung a song all over again on how “paints are so expensive now” or “the little tooling for hinges of plastic costs thousands in tooling costs” etc, etc. and “here it is for the cheap fair price of $750!” (because it can’t be LESS than Snake Mountain, right!?). I also think it’s extremely lame and lazy that this shortsighted mega companies like Hasbro and Super7 aren’t including any electronics with their big items. I bough the Sail Barge and would have loved a little button with voiceovers from the scene as well as the party music lifted from the film. We are in 2021, electronics only continued to advance in the toy industry and then all of the sudden, nobody cared anymore? I don’t get it - electronics are not just kids - they enhance the entire package no matter what the toy. The Razor Crest not coming with electronics was pitiful. The Thundertank not having LED eyes is a joke, ditto for the Snake Mountain not having the voice changing feature, or at least bluetooth for it. Electronics have only gotten CHEAPER and smaller, meaning they will never ruin the aesthetic. So why not?
Sorry for my sarcasm, but I don’t anticipate a fairly priced Cat’s Lair, if it is indeed made. I’d rather hold out for a Cat’s Lair rather than waste my money on a Thundertank, although I also wouldn’t see the value of a Lair if it was $200-$300 MORE than this overly expensive tank. I think the Lair is more iconic to me personally and a more desirable piece. If the Lair was indeed under $450, I’d probably buy it in a heartbeat, but I have ZERO confidence that Super7 would ever make that happen.

My interpretation of Cat’s Lair in toy form would be such that the scale of it would fit the Thundertank inside the claw. This means it will be huge. The inside would have that iconic cat’s lair control room with the big screen and the two helmet-looking control stations. It could also have some stairs, elevator, whatever and maybe the conference room or the sword of omens room. You know it will cost $1,000. Just saying.
Now, back to the tank. I do not have the expertise in this field to really know what anything costs. However, why is the preorder only open for 2 months? We have to wait a year anyway for this thing to get made. Why now open it for 6 months? I just think $350 for the tank with 6 months would allow for the same profit margin for Super 7 than 2 months for $450. The lower price and longer wait time would allow for more units produced. The limited 2 month time is a sales tactic which presents the concept of scarcity. Oh no! We have to buy this now or we’ll never get it.
