WB has owned the rights to ThunderCats since 1989, so it’s their call actually.
I’d enjoy a nice novel of events after Book of Omens. Especially if it went into detail about Plun-Darr.
I also wouldn’t mind seeing some good ol fashioned Lion-O and Cheetara love since it was heavily hinted at in the OS just as a romance between Tygra and Pumyra was also heavily hinted at.
Also, you know how since the Berbils are a race of robotic teddy bears from a very small planet? D’you ever wondered who designed them and placed them on a tiny planet?
I’m beginning to wonder that, too.
I would think they would’ve been design by a race of highly-intelligent, anthropomorphic race of bears and may have been created as an experiment.
Then, how would said anthropomorphic bears name their homeworld Ro-Bear?
I think they called it Ro-Bear after their creations and put them on the planet to see how they can survive in such an environment. I believed the bears, or Ursans, may have abandoned their cybernetic creations when they thought the project was a failure.
In ThunderCats, Ho!: The Movie, Berbils Bert and Bob revealed that Ro-Bear was a small planet and that all Berbils had to go to other worlds to make a living. Ro-Bear Bill’s group made a living on Third Earth. :liono

okay, I know we need the ThunderCats for a ThunderCat Novel. Here’s one, how does anyone like the title “ThunderCats: Legacy” for the first book?

Not to rain on this parade, but what exactly is the point of this? There is a ton of good, multifarious ThunderCats fiction out there already. Granted, it’s unlicensed, but it exists, and it’s been written by people with a wealth of ideas. If you want story ideas, dive in! Ask people which stories they’ve enjoyed the most and why. Generate a discussion about what works and what doesn’t based on concrete stories that have already been written.
I can understand discussing the hypothetical licensed novel (what themes would be deviant from canon, what the target audience would be, setting, characters, etc.), and I’d be really interested in researching and discussing the details of licensing; but asking “What should be in it?” or “What should it be called?”? Really? Very few authors are going to spill the beans on their story ideas before actually, you know, writing them. And titles are meaningless! I mean, “ThunderCats: Legacy” is a perfectly fine, generic title. So is “ThunderCats: Reunion” or “ThunderCats: Sing-Along”.
I don’t mean to be a jerk here, but this could be an interesting discussion. Let’s make it one!
Okay, if there was a license ThunderCats novel, what would be the setting of the novel and who would be the targeting audience? We know the major characters would be the ThunderCats and Mumm-Ra but who would you think would be the secondary characters?
I think that the targeting audience should be young adults. Secondary characters would have to be the Berbils, the Warrior Maidens, the Unicorn Keepers, the Wollos, Mandora, Dr. Dometone, and the Bolkins.
Just out of curiosity, kman134, are you actually, seriously planning on writing an official Thundercats Novel series?
Not really. I did have thoughts but I was afraid I might get sued by Warner Bros. for it.
I know what you mean. It really is a shame too because I think that fans can do much more justice to “Thundercats” than the studios. I mean if you just look at David Crichton’s unofficial guide book “Hear the Roar!”, it has a wealth of information about the Thudnercats. Only a true fan would care to go through such great lengths so as not to leave any stone unturned. If WB had decided to publish an official guide, then I doubt if it would have exceeded more than 25 pages.
