This has been bugging me for a while but wouldn’t it be cool if there was a ThunderCats Novel Series taking place right after “Book of Omens” where it shows what happens during Lion-O and Mumm-Ra’s battle in the Book and how New Thundera progresses. I don’t mean like fanfiction but like an official novel series published in stores. Also, for the record, those Wildstorm comics weren’t really considered canon because of its inconsistencies with the storyline. So, if there was a novel series, the storyline would make more sense than the comics.
Normally I am not much of a novel reader, but I would love that!
I would love a ThunderCats novel series set after the original series’ final episode, but one that would stay true to the TV show while incorporating new ideas.
Yeah, think about it, Transformers has a novel series and so does Supernatural. So if ThunderCats had a novel series, then it would boast the franchises popularity.
I agree. A “Thundercats” Novel series would certainly be a great way to keep the original cartoon series alive as well as move the story forward. But like “Daremonger” said, it would have to remain true to the original TV series. No gore or violence or sex. None of the Lion-O snapping Monkian’s neck or a skimpily clad Wilykit bathing Mumm-ra (Ew!) that the Wildstorm comics introduced.
I think there are very talented story writers right here on the TCL.org board’s Fan fiction area . I think they could do a magnificent job.
Agreed, but shouldn’t there be some dark moments just to jazz it up, a little? Also, the novel series shouldn’t just show us the ThunderCats fighting mutants or Mumm-Ra, it should, also, show us the geography of Third-Earth, or Thundera.
Oh, don’t get me wrong. I would definitely love to see dark moments. They would spice things up. It’s gore and violence that I don’t like. There was a lot of action in the cartoon series but no violence. The Wildstorm comics completely changed the tone of the cartoon and the nature of the characters.
Yes, I agree the novel could show us more about the geography of Third earth and Thundera as well as try to give explanations for many of the inconsistencies that weren’t fully explained in the cartoon series.
Yeah, I would, also, like to see what Plun-Darr’s like since they only mentioned it a couple of times. All we know about it is that it has burning lakes and sulfur clouds, and to explain why the mutants are called "mutants’ because it would be inaccurate since they don’t look like mutants.
I’m, also, into pairings and I would love a Lion-O and Cheetara pairing to happen. I would, also, like a Tygra and Cheetara pairing but only if it’s done right.
I’m totally all for LiChee happening. ![]()
So would I but it has to be put together, perfectly, or else, it could end up terribly.
If we’re talking OS, then it’s no relationships for me.
I have to agree with hammy0924. Romance was never a part of the OS and that is one aspect that I wouldn’t want to be changed. But that’s just my opinion. ![]()
I would third this. I wouldnt mind it if it was an alternative/reboot type series, but if it was supposed to be official canon material I would prefer it be left out.
Shipping or not, an OS ThunderCats novel series is what is needed in this world.
Maybe, it could be a ThunderCats novel series set in a alternate universe with the incarnations of the original characters. I had ideas for something like that.
A continuance of the OS would be my first choice, but I would love to read a series such as that also.
Hey, kman, are you exploring your OS ideas right now?
Indeed, I am.
Greatness! ![]()
Chris here…
Yes, this is something I’d love to see also. Someone ought to approach WB and ask them how someone goes about releasing a licensed ThunderCats product - the problem with that being that whoever worked on any novels would then have WB looking over their shoulder the entire time. But it would still be great to see it happen! ![]()
Take care… ![]()
