That’s just 1,000 shy of its premiere on Toonami. This may be due to Inuyasha showing right after it for the extra DST hour. I also worry that those high numbers might actully be a glitch in the system, and a lot of them might actually be Inuyasha’s ratings added to TCats and Titan. But I hope not.
All I’m going to say is thank goodness I checked the schedule because after daylight savings happened, the show was bumped up an hour earlier! (12:30am CST) YAYYYYY!!!

That is the highest it’s been on the block, beating out it’s Toonami premiere by a wide margin. Looks like Legacy is really popular episode. Then again, just about every show on Toonami increased in ratings by a lot.

good news for the cats, maybe if the ratings keep on getting this better they will release a dvd Box set of season 1. i am anxiously waiting for an announcement

Thundercats pushed up another half hour ?
I think it started at about 2:30 am, then around the holidays it went to 12:30 and for some reason it came on at midnight CST this weekend. Which is awesome but geez it’s getting hard to keep up!!!
TC getting pushed up half an hour has more to do with Tenchi Muyo! GXP not doing well and getting moved way down. Still, it will help with the ratings.
They may be moving it up BECAUSE of the ratings being pretty decent. I’m glad it’s doing great on Toonami and apparently so are the staff of the show. Who knows? Maybe it can just continue with new episodes on there?
I don’t care what channel or time slot it is on as long as we get new episodes(one day) I will still watch.
Looks like the change in time helped out a whole lot more than I expected - 1,020,000!

Damn! That’s better than a lot of CN’s “popular” shows are doing, considering it’s on late-night TV.

Show is still not profitable. All the shows on Toonami are EOL, nothing new being developed, just happy reruns.
I am pretty much to the point where I accept it’s not going to come back. However, I still think it’s great that it is doing extremely well on a different TV block. I feel like it’s getting proper recognition now, and that’s what it really needed more than anything.

I, personally, think it’s not coming back. But there are shows that have come back after getting officially canceled. If they start making money off it, it could still happen, however unlikely. Though personally I’d rather a different channel picked it up than CN (I still think it would’ve done extremely well on Nick with the Avatar and TMNT crowd). I’d almost prefer a straight to DVD movie trilogy to finish the story off. They could tell it without everything having to be broken up into as many episodes and have a little more leeway with the censors.
The show may not come back, but if there was ever any clear sign of hope, this it it. To put it into some perspective, TC not only got higher numbers than Naruto this week, it’s the only show aside from Bleach and Deadman Wonderland to get over 1 million, as far as I can tell. And DMW seems to have only broken 1 mil once, and it aired earlier than TC is.
Granted, 1 mil still doesn’t compare to the ratings of new episodes of other CN shows that air in daytime hours, like Adventure Time and Regular Show. On average, TC has been getting about half the numbers it did when the episodes were new.
I agree balgus, the show probably would have been a lot more popular if it was on Nick, but that’s mostly because so many more people watch that channel than CN, if the ratings are any indication.
I think our best hope right now is a direct to DVD continuation. There’s been a lot of DC and Scooby-Do animated movies coming out of Warner Bros. Animation. There may however be some legal problems is CN holds some of the rights to TCats.
It helps that NuToonami has steadily been getting higher and higher ratings since it came back. Last Saturday may have been a fluke, but it means that more people have become aware of the new TCats, and almost every week I continue to see people on tumblr who are new to it, so it’s still gaining exposure.
While it is just as likely that CN is willing to let the show go, there is always slight chance that putting it on Toonami might be some way of seeing how it fares with a different audience, to try and test the waters and see if it is worthy of some kind of second chance. I know I’ve been harsh on CN before, but I believe there must be some people working there that would like to bring it back. Like the Toonami crew.
