I think both Claudus and Slithe have referred to Thunderians as “the cats”, so maybe “cats” is the species?
In this series I take it to mean Thunderians are all the subjects of the Kingdom of Thundera on Third Earth.
The chops own
I like them too–I think they help him look older than the rest of the group and it’s certainly better than a beard or mustache.
So long as there’s nothing on top he’s still Panthro to me.

Looking forward to seeing The Driller. One of my favorite enemies and toys from the original.
I’m mixed on Panthro’s long sideburns. On one hand, they look cool, and add years to his character, on the other hand, I liked how he looked in the flashback scene, when he and Grune were friends. This has mostly to do with us being so used to seeing Panthro’s original character design in the original series.
I think we’re also going to get a glimpse of young Tygra and Lion-O as well, as the official photos suggests, so this looks like its going to have some backstory to it, which is definitely good in my book.
This has me curious as to how Panthro built the ThunderTank because in the OS, Panthro used parts of their crashed spaceship to construct the ThunderTank. Not so sure how it was built in the new series, or if Panthro got help from a third party. Perhaps the Ro-Bear Berbils?? I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode for sure.
I’m thinking the thunder tank comes from a big robot things the lizards ride in in the first and second episode.
The tech that the lizards have is supplied by Mumm-Ra. Which is probably where Panthro also acquired the tech.
I’m thinking it’ll be adverserial at first until Liono proves himself and after that it’ll probably be more mentor-student relationship when it comes to battle and mechanical stuff.
