It’s interesting because the more they show of Claudis, the more it seems he had no issue promoting up and mingling with the ‘lower classes’. So the middle and lower classes did have moblity up society’s ranks.
Hmm… No pure blood tigers like Tygra in the background either. It looks like only lion tiger mixes in the ranks. Another interesting thing to note.

Yes! I can’t wait for this episode. I love backstory-rich episodes, and it looks like this one will have plenty of it.
Also, I’d wait a few more episodes before worrying that Tygra will be relegated to a background character. They have 26 episodes for just this season, and we’re only on the fifth. Right now they’re just introducing Panthro. Ideally we’ll learn more about all of the characters, and they’ll all have moments to shine, as it goes along.

It has been stated at last three times that the first half of the season will have a central conflict between Lion-O and Tygra. Just wait and you’ll see it. From the writers perspective it’s currently not the perfect time to let them argue. There’re still in danger.

This was epic. Wow, these two last episodes just feels like.. A filler of some sort. Not much happend in those really. I mean i dont really care for the ramlak nor the “grasspeople” if they are not gonna come back in future episodes. Which it seems they wont.

Everyone keep in mind the possible interview hints about Lion-o possibly going a little darker. That would be more the time to set the conflict up. They might actually have plans to show us why Lion-o was so scared of Tygra’s mindpowers during his trial too. Give the writers a little time. Grune right now is a major bad guy player so Pathro and he are a 2 for one deal in the background stories.
The Driller!!!
That’s an unexpected, and pleasant surprise. I always thought he was in interesting character, but I don’t think he was ever written very well on the OS, or even given a proper introduction. Hopefully this time we’ll get a better idea of who and what he is, and how he fits into the bigger scheme of things. (And I hope Bandai makes an action figure of him too. Something tells me it’ll look awesome.)
For some reason, that whole thing reminds me of the movie Peter No-Tail! Which also, coincidentally, told the story of a cat who had to prove himself because he was born without a tail. (Gold star if you’ve ever seen this movie and know what I’m talking about.)
Also curious to know how Grune lost his sabretooth as well. I’m sure there’ll be an interesting story behind that.
I’ve been waiting for years to see a heroic character that was willing to question Lion-O’s authority. Surprised to see it was Panthro! Then again, it fits with his character. I have more to say about that, but I’ll wait until after the episode airs and I’ve seen it.
So far, this looks like it’ll be a hell of an episode.

Wow, that looks awesome! I’ve loved every episode so far (Even “Ramlak” but it wasn’t my favorite) but this looks like a step back towards the epicness that the premier had.
This is a series that will be at its best when it’s painting a rich picture of the world. When you have a series that has such an expansive world, mythology and characters it will really shine when these things are further fleshed out.
I also like it that Panthro isn’t blindly following Lion-O’s orders. With Cheetara it’s her duty to follow Lion-O and although Tygra doesn’t like taking Lion-O’s orders I think he has too much respect for royal tradition to stand against like Panthro.
Once Lion-O does earn Panthro’s respect I think he’ll turn into the gruff mentor for Lion-O. If memory serves right at the start of the OS he was the one that stood up for Lion-O going out on his own since he wasn’t a child anymore and he understood it was important for Lion-O to grow into his adulthood and learn what that all meant, rather than treating him like a child (also, he gave Lion-O driving lessons, lol).
But, I’ll be honest, I’m more excited about seeing little Tygra and Lion-O than anything else.
Agreed! I think Panthro is the character I’m having the most trouble adjusting to their new look–the chops just don’t work for me! :panthrohappy:

I’m thrilled to see we’ll be getting more Mumm-Ra in this one, and that it looks like Panthro has / had an encounter with him at some point!
Tygra was the one who let Lion-O go off on his own (while the others wondered if it was really a good idea to let him get away from doing boring work) because he hadn’t had all those important life experiences that would have made him grow up. (I still think him pulling his weight and helping out with boring work and heavy lifting would have played its part in helping him become a man too, so I don’t get why Tygra let him get away with slacking off.) But Panthro did teach him how to drive.
I’m most excited about seeing little Tygra and Lion-O, too! Their relationship is the thing I’m most eager to see explored right now.
