The season is over and I feel a kind of sad right now. I will miss the TC next weekend badly.
It was a great show and I loved it. Even though there were better and weaker episodes I can say I enjoyed watching them all.
But back to the topic, I’m very happy with the season finale, it was a very good episode. There were many good things to mention, but I wanna talk about Pumyra now.
Believe it or not, I had a bad feeling about her since she appeared. I was wondering why she got so many fans and I couldn’t understand the voting in the Cheetara vs Pumyra threat.
What was so great about Pumyra? I guess she got more votes, because fans of the show dislike Cheetara for choosing Tygra and for being a bit blank and maybe they saw in Pumyra a potential girlfriend for Lion-o.
Many people said Pumyra is like she is, because she had such a hard time in the pit, but this was a poor explanation IMO, it didn’t make sense to me. But now after I saw the last episode everything make sense to me. Very good writing!
Pumyra…it was never Pumyra. Pumyra died when Thundera fell and we only saw the resurrection of Pumyra. Resurrected by Mumm-Ra.
I think she is pure evil now, maybe there is still something inside her from her old life and consciousness, but I’m afraid it’s impossible to recover her old consciousness.
Poor Lion-o. Betrayed by Pumyra. I like Lion-o for his big heart and for trusting everybody, but he trusted her more than the other TC’s what we saw in “Birth of blades”. I don’t blame him for it, some of his decision were influenced by his emotions.
I think that Lion-o never really fell in love with Pumyra. Yes, he liked her, but I think he still has feelings for Cheetara and tried somehow to overcome it with Pumyra. I could be wrong, jmpov
I feel sorry for Lion-o, he is a great king and absolutely doesn’t deserve it, but he will find a girlfriend in the end of season 2, it will be a lioness, sorry to spoil you 
Something I don’t understand. Kit and Kat said that they got help from everybody Lion-o (and the other TCs) helped before. But I can’t remember what Lion-o did for Dobo and the dogs. Have I missed something?
I’d prefer if they found way for Pumyra to stay a live and get a second chance like Lion-O did, because I’d rather she not be expendable. As long as she gets redeemed I’ll be happy though.
I liked her character too much. She brought a dybamic to the team that was missing. I would hate to see her stay evil for the rest of the show or just die right after being redeemed.
That’s fine, but that’s just so.. Boring, normal.
What ever they are doing with this character much can happen, and i dont want this normal story about a teammate “going evil” and then going good. It’s been done to death and this show would REALLY make itself more interesting and unique IF Pumyra would stay evil for a while, perhaps they try to save her, they do save her but she’s already dead and her soul may rest in peace without the feelings of revenge she had before her death.
Yet again this brings them a chance to introduce their own Thundercat and give room for Bengali and/or Lynx-o. They are males of course but still.

I’m not saying it is supposed to be Zaxx, but I do think they probably did that as an Easter Egg. Admittedly, I remember him being a tad more green while watching the episode the first time. Here, he looks kind of brown.

I honestly can’t really think of what I want to happen with Pumyra. I really enjoyed her character, but having an evil ThunderCat is such a weird twist. I think it would be interesting to have her be evil for a little bit, but I want to see her return to being good somehow. I can’t see them keeping her like that forever. Maybe Bengali/Lynx-O (if they join) will be one of her loved ones she supposedly lost in the fall of Thundera and she’ll see them; therefore triggering something that causes her to go against Mumm-Ra.
As said, i would like her to be evil for a while, then they save her and as she is dead (undead what ever) they release her soul and she may rest in peace. Would be an amazing ending.
And there is the problem, all the fans dont want their “thundercats team” to split, or one to die. But why not? About all this stuff with bad story telling it for me sounds worse to give her the life back which she lost. Makes more sense what i said earlier in the post, let her be saved, redeemed then put to rest.
The whole thing with her dying after being redeemed just seems like it would be bad in the plot and feel too rushed. If she just dies after being redeemed then they might as well just kill her as she is now.
How can you say it may be rushed right now? A story like that could take place the whole second (and probably final) season.
She’s evil right now, only cause she did die with some revenge in her heart and her soul was caught and used for evil doing. Over the course of the season they find more info and the real truth that it’s not her, they try to save her only to remember she’s already dead. They save her from the evil masterminds and let her soul go to peace. How is that rushed? It may sound like it but that’s because i try to shorten it down, no way it has to rushed if done well.
Yet again a story like that would set this show apart from the rest and it would be a quite unique and good story, depending on how they are doing things.
I guess I didn’t really mean “rushed”, but more of just useless. I know Lion-O will really want her to be good again. I’m not completely shooting it down but it would be nice if she was on their side fighting for a little bit before she dies.
Its an old theme in these type of stories to have someone redeem themselves through sacrifice of his or her own life. Paying the ultimate price to atone for wrong doings pretty much unquestionably redeems the character for the audience.
A great example would be Dinobot from Beast Wars. He is generally remembered as a popular character and one of the biggest heroes in the series as he died in battle saving the pre human village as he took on 6 Predacons all by himself. Well, this event took place after he WILLINGLY betrayed The Maximals and gave Megatron the golden disc thinking that he was finally on the right side. At the end of the episode, he apologizes and rejoins the Maximals, but for a lot of us, that wasn’t good enough. He couldn’t just say “I’m sorry I messed up, can I come back”. Rattrap pretty much said as much to him. Dinobot had to atone for what he did and he did it with a completely selfless and heroic act that far outweighed any sin he committed.
The reason we are thinking that Pumyra is going to die to redeem herself because that is probably the best way for us as an audience to forgive her. As far as I can tell, there is no mind control involved here and she is acting of her own free will, so she is going to have to realize her wrong doings and make up for it in a huge way.
Yes of course that could happen in the end. The theory i have is small right now just cause i try to make it small enough for everyone to understand. Anyone may fill in the blanks their own way.
This episode sure did give us a clue of a season 2.
I just thought of something. If Pumyra was working for Mumm-Ra the whole time then he knows where the Thundarian Slaves are…uh oh.

I know this is several pages back in the thread, but I feel the need to comment anyway. I think what you’re suggesting is extremely out of character for Lion-O. Regardless of what Pumyra did, Lion-O is not vengeful like this. Remember when he spared the lizards in the opening episode? Or his speech to Pumyra about mercy when he spared Ratar-O’s henchman Mordax?
Despite his anger (which, of course, is more than justified) I can’t see Lion-O wanting to kill Pumyra. I don’t think he’d ever trust her again, but wanting the satisfaction of killing her himself? No. He’d want to see her de-powered and neutralized as a threat to his people, yes, but I think he’d have a hard time executing her. He certainly would not take pleasure in it, even if he believed it had to be done in the name of justice and protecting his people. If anything, he’d see it as a hard duty that would just break his heart all over again.
Lol sorry, but in my head I just saw him cut off her head, it rolls away glaring at him like a Monty Python Sketch while her body keeps smacking him. She’s some sort of undead with a body made from dark magic seemly not even the remnants of her original, who knows if losing her head would be more than an annoyance.
And yea I agree Lion-O enjoying the deed, way out of character IMHO.
