I’m so happy that this episode crushed any hope of a Pumyra and Lion-o hook up. YEEESSS, I’M LAUGHING AT EVERYONE WHO WANTED IT MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
It was a very good episode, one thing that bugged me was the stock footage i think i saw, i need to look it up and see if it’s right.

The episode was written by Paul Giacappo. And yes, there were two instances of animations being reused for the fight scenes, specifically of Lion-O and Cheetara.
And I still have some hope for Pumyra. And a second season.
Then i guess i was not wrong, it kinda threw me off and i dont understand why they had to use it.

In that one reused animation of Lion-O fighting some lizards, the animators didn’t draw the Spirit Stone onto Lion-O’s gauntlet. And when Mumm-Ra changes to his Everliving form, he doesn’t have the Sword of Plun-Darr with him.
It’s kinda funny how these things happen, i mean it happens to every movie and tv-series but HOOOOOOOOOW?! They are so many working at it and HOPEFULLY many watching it before it airs.
Didn’t Paul Giacappo write Between Brothers too?! Does he have a problem with Lion-o or something?
Apparently. I think Tab does the best overall. If Paul and Tab did the whole next season, I think it would really make the series even better than what it already is.
How would it be better? Sure, Lion-o still has some lessons to learn, but having him get heartbroken twice within a few weeks and stuff is just annoying.
He needs it really. He was to naive when he fell in love with Pumyra and look where it got him.
Yeah come on, can’t we give him a break for at least half a season? I think that’d be nice!
yes, but come on you gotta admit; it seemed like he had a chance. I think now he just needs to kick back, work on his original duty. (come one writers, is that too much to ask?)
I’m assuming you’re replying to my post, but it would because they have by far written the best episodes. The Cheetara heartbreak was to show his immaturity and inability to see the bigger picture. The Pumyra heartbreak really was not his fault.
Actually, Mumm-Ra does have the sword. In his case, it actually isn’t stock footage, though it does look like it.
Even if Lion-O hadn’t fallen in love with Pumyra, he probably still would have trusted her anyway.
Also, if any writer is to blme, it’s probably Michael Jelenic, since he’s the head writer and maps out the whole plot. This was all probably planned in advance. I do hope I’m not giving the writers too much credit. Pumyra’s betrayal can easily be seen as cheap drama at the expense of her character. I do hope that the decision was not one the writers took lightly. It depends on what happens in the future with her. She’s not dead, at least exactly.

You did not like what they did with her? I kinda like the idea of an evil Thundercat, and what happend was a really good story for her. What could be done now is to save her. I think that will happen.
No, I think it’s an interesting twist and it makes me want to see where things go. So I like it, but I also want Pumyra to be a good guy, because she was really cool and brought a new dynamic to the team. I want Lion-O to save her from Mumm-Ra’s influence. What I’m saying is that I hope the writers put a lot of consideration into making Pumyra a traitor, and I think they did, but we need to see how things play out before we can judge if it was handled well.
I agree. Her betrayal opened so many doors for incredible episodes to come, along with some good storytelling and action.

Unfortunately, I think “saving” her is going to mean the same thing that saving Javan and Caspian did in Native Son. She’s dead, folks. The only place left for her to go is up. Unless the Soul Sever works some hocus-pocus, but we know his dabbling upset the balance of nature and was generally verboten.
She’d probably be happier to be set free. She’s suffered enough anyway.
Don’t even REMIND me of Jean Grey… she was far more twisted than Pumyra. But I will give you credit, I think that now her death is kind of the only way out. But at the same time, I feel like now this would also be a good time to bring in some other characters of magic manipulation coughMumm-Ranacough, but again, the first thing that needs to be done is if she really thinking through on her actions.
Although speaking of X-Men… I think if the influence is existant, than it’s very much like Deathsrtike was in X2 - there was mention of her desire for revenge having to be in check, and in a way that’s the same as the fluids Striker used to manipulate Deathstrike - they had to be constant in case she got her will back. (so this indeed is an easy possibility.)
I don’t know…I think somehow they’ll find a way to salvage her life but also return her to the way she was. If Mumm-Rana gets involved, it’s definitely a possibility.
That’d be a retcon…didn’t Tygra’s clan say there wasn’t a way out of the ASoE’s curse? And i’m assuming if Mumm-Ra is killed while Pumyra’s still alive she might die then too. Either way it looks either implausible, or badly written if they just find a way to fix it at the last minute…she might not even remember anything after she died…
