Recall though that in the OS, a Berbils tear was needed to free Ta-She from the Time Warp prison and Mumm-Ra did end up getting Ro-Bear-belle to cry.

I’ve almost lost my hopes about this show. So much makes no sense, they rather use a “one episode guy” then do something with the already “established cast”. GIVE ME MORE MUMM-RA, more SSSSLITHE and all the evil guys i care about. I felt the same way about the Ramlak episode and the Petlars. Even tought the last mentioned was some cool dudes i hate when they do stuff like this.
IF this would have been the last episode for the season i would just want them to end the show and forget about a second season, but as there are two left.. HOPEFULLY they will get back on track and give us more STORY GOING FORWARD. All these sidetracks that does not even need to be there just makes me sad. I can’t even type properly here cause I’m so sad and angry at those making this.
My hope about this show was it was gonna be a series that each episode takes place pretty much after each other and use the cast of characters to do something interesting. What happened is that we have many great characters both from the “good side” and “the evil side” that does not even get used to their full potential. Following this (when they have so many great characters) they introduce these dumb?%&/¤ that only appear once and is not memorable at all (there are some exceptions). At least let them stick around for a while to make us care about them more.
And the jumping between episodes, yuck. I’ve already said i want the episodes to take place after each other (which they do). But i again will take the example of that episode when they were up on the mountains and did something with the tigers. The last trial episode ended in the desert, while the other one started up in the moutain without telling us WHY, it was not until the next episode we got to know what really happened. Sure i would not wanna see them just drive the thundertank from place A to place B, but they could at least have showed us that that they did go away from the desert and why they were up there in the first place instead of just jumping like they did.
Yet again i can’t write properly cause i’m so sad. The show for me started strong but has almost just gone downhill until that. As a Thundercats fan i’m very sorry i’m even typing this.
Just watched it again. I really encourage people to watch it again because I did not enjoy it the first time, but it seemed a lot better the second.
I’m going to watch the whole show now before the finale.

I did enjoy the episode as a stand alone story. I just feel sad that we have had too many of these kinda episodes which do not develop existing characters that most fans (old and new) want to see further developed. I agree Cheetara has been extremely neglected development wise 
Rizefall hit the nail on the head, and like I said, what makes it worse is we are so close to the finale and I kinda feel cheated that we haven’t seen more of the main villians (especially Mumm-Ra) Maybe if they had focused more on the core characters and machinery (ThunderTank/Storm Charger), then the toys would have sold better. We were lucky to get Kit and Kat’s space boards in an episode!
Balgus82 also summed it up well too. They build so much momentum with the previous episodes and then kill it with one shot filler. Yes we learned where the stone is, but that could have been written in without the Soul Sever story. To me I just think the writers have been given too much freedom to write their own thing. They should have had a brief to develop the core heroes and villians foremost and any guest cast should have received little development and attention.
It’s kinda bad when you know more about the Soul Sever than you do about other villians such as Addicus and Kaynar!
The episode was good, although I was bothered by all the references I could see to other shows and sagas:

And finally, you’d say Lion.o would have shown more concern wathing his brother’s soul taken away and seen him turn into a huge robotic being.
With the Tygra thing, I think he knew the machine would fail, and the worse case scenario was him returning to his body, so basically no matter what he would be fine.
Those were my fav lines as well, along with Tygra’s “You know? I wouldn’t mind some of that” (or something like that) lol
I agree with you in that Tygra always getting the hard punch and coming oit without even a scratch is intriguing (but it’s all because it’s a cartoon I guess).
I don’t think it has nothing to do with Lion-o becoming the ultra-hero after the trials, as Tygra used to get the hard hit even since the start of the show, and Lion-o didn’t 
It was more like “You know, I really don’t mind most of those” to the SS’ mention of age, disease and pain

Exactly what I think. I couldn’t believe Lion-o didn’t show any concern/worrisome/pity at this. I know they were in the middle of a situation, but still, your brother’s soul had been taken away, he might be dead by now. Show some damn sympathy! He got more concerned when the SS hit Tygra than when Tygra lost his soul. I mean, really dude?

Although OS Tygra being my fav, it seems not many people liked him, And if they turn NS Tygra into OS Tygra, which I’d love myself, I’m afraid people will lose interest in the character and he would become the designated victim again.

I really want to see the team work and fight together, but I’d like them to show their abilities more than them spreading at a laser beam directed at them only to have Lion-o show-off.
Now, if that’s not the case and we’ll see them separately, I’d like to see these team-ups:

Finally we saw Lion-o and Tygra working as team again. Since ‘Native Son’ it Lion-o interacted mostly with Pumyra. Same counts for Pumyra, who only intercats with Lion_o, but this is another subject.

Great to see the three males working together, even it doesn’t worked out the whole time, but they fought as team.

Tygra invisible lasted quite long.

The Ep provided a little development, that’s why I don’t see the Ep as a filler: The Stone; a new character.
Lion-o sees technology in another point of view now. But IMO they should have provide more development three EPs before the season final.

Tygra whip action, again he was defeated very fast. Why? Like the rest of the Thundercats he is supposed to be a great fighter.
He was a badass and now he became the butt monkey or whipping boy in almost every ep. I hate it and I really hope it doesn’t happen again.

That episode was on drugs… seriously crazy stuff going on there.

I liked the episode a lot but agree with most of you Tygra is a pretty good scrapper but now he’s the butt monkey and I am sad, I was pretty worried when Tygra got his soul severed (cue long screaming panning shot of me: "NNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!) glad it was pretty easy to get it back obviously Lion-O knew that right? That’s why for the lack of emotion from Tygra being kinda killed, yeah Imma just figure that was the case…
Both Grievous and Soul Sever were cyborgs, not robots. They still had organic elements in their bodies.
Anyway If season 2 is ever confirmed I hope the crew takes some of our criticisms to heart. I know they read these boards (though not sure how often). I don’t mind occasional filler, but 3 episodes in a row is too much. even if there is 5 minutes or so that develops the overall story the episode still feels like filler. Take a cue from anime and just have one long story to tell. You say you have a lot of story to tell and limited time to tell it. Well if time is limited leave out the stuff that doesn’t progress it. Don’t worry about kids not wanting to watch reruns unless the episode is a contained story. CN isn’t rerunning the episodes anyway so that hardly matters does it? And when characters go missing from an episode, please (even if it’s an offhand comment) explain where they went. When you leave too much unexplained it just leaves viewers confused.
Just got to watch it today , and I didn’t like this episode…I loved it 
The soul sever was an awesome character and theme music of his…lab place? was very noticable as well . and I really don’t see it as a filler , because other than knowing where the next stone is , there was something much bigger going on . the whole theme of “technology meets magic” again . and Lion-O’s thoughts about it … plus the book of omens became more valuable .
I just wish they have made this episode earlier . as it would work alot better closer to the first episode when Lion-O dealt with it in the first place… I honestly started to think the writers forgot about it completly until this one . but I think in the next episodes we will get a clearer explanation about how technology was rediscovered on 3rd earth .
Anyway I loved the mecha Tygra though it did bother me that Lion-O didn’t look like he cares about what happend to him . (he couldn’t at least shout his name?) and oh yeah and when Panthro said “your story bored him so he left in the middle” I really laughed out loud
Too bad there’s such a short time limit for each episode , as each one is like a mini movie and could have been developed SO MUCH MORE … I see now why they didn’t even have the time to bridge everyone re-meeting . though it didn’t ruin it for me like for some people here …
I liked this episode too. Emphasis was laid on Technology and the sci-fi aspect had a dominant role, the Mecha Tygra was awesome. The writers have surprised us once more!
I don;t quite understand why some fans label ‘fillers’ episode like this one, they went to Soul Sever for the book and to find out about the other stone. It brought new elements to the game and the ‘technology’ side is brought back
