O and it not yet the time for cartoon network to addnans season 2 yet. That should happen in early July. The new series is mostly lacking that charm that 80’s version had with the exception of “The Recipe Of Disaster”. Did you and your family enjoy last weeks’ episode?
It was meant to be much darker, so I didn’t expect the 80’s charm going in at all. I guess I like the series a lot more than most people because I don’t expect the OS out of it.

No, not at all. I am the exact same. I honestly like the NS much more than the OS (I know, sue me!).
I think people get too worked up over bad episodes. I get it, the finale is next episode (plus the week after), but we’ve been on a streak of good episodes in my opinion. Sure, the writers have kinda done their own thing, but it’s not like they can clone one writer 3 times (I hope they find a way to do so with Tab!). I can always tell who writes the Young Justice episodes because even though they follow a plot, certain episodes tend to stray from the storyline, sometimes too far even for me. Others stay right on track, and they’re usually written by the same people every time.
The episode wasn’t that terrible, either. So what? We haven’t got a lot of Kit and Kat. It’s not that horrible. Appa was missing from the second season of The Last Airbender for a good chunk of episodes, and it’s not like they have to be together 100% of the time. I mean, I would have loved to see them go along, but it doesn’t make me physically upset that they weren’t there. it was just the biggest flaw to the episode (including how we saw no interaction between Pumyra and the twins). The story was also pretty good. There was really nothing wrong with this episode. I’m not trying to force anyone to like it, but the negativity over the whole series just because of this single episode is just stupid.

Wow I didn’t even get to watch the episode yet but the negativity of everyone here really ruined my mood to do so . with a fanbase suh as this - some of you don’t deserve more episodes . as you can’t appriciate something good thats right infront of your face . some for nostalgia reasons , and others aren’t patient enough to enjoy a st and alone episode that doesn’t necessarily has a big impact on the story . yeah there’s the matter of opinion but I could only wish this was the reason for this harsh criticism .
I’ll watch it when I’ll have the time soon , and will judge it by myself … but well done everyone , really , if they cancel this and put a lame “thundercats rock band” show instead . I hope you’ll remember this moment .
I (don’t understand half of what you say) agree. Because of all the fantastic episodes, a mediocre episode seems incredibly terrible compared to the rest.
Well, just for the sake of argument, I’ll say I think “Batman: The Brave and The Bold” is a good example that nostalgia can work, depending on how you approach it.
That being said, this Thundercats NS, imo, has the right idea in attempting to catch both old and new fans. You couldn’t get away with the same characterizations of the original series these days, not if you’re approaching the propertry in a serious way. I’m also willing to be patient and see what surprises and/or changes the possible second season will bring.
I honestly hated that show, but I guess some people liked it. It was very much like the older Batman series.
Back on how people expect too much, I think it’s much like when a band/artist releases an awesome album or song and people expect every other song by them to be as good or better, but it’s never that way. I’m not saying every episode besides whichever you may think is the best won’t live up to it, but you can’t expect 100% out of every single episode. My tip: don’t build up your expectations and just wait for the episode to come and let it surprise you.

I know plenty of fans are so passionate about the series …whether it’s a good/bad episode you will hear about it, were like the New York Knicks fans…we want the BEST!!
I don’t see it as filler so much as a setup for the season finale. Without this episode, you wouldn’t know about the others (possibly cats) using technology up above, you wouldn’t know the location of the next stone, you wouldn’t have setup a way to get up to “above”, and you wouldn’t have Liono having confronted his issues with technology. It wasn’t a great episode, but it certainly was watchable, and it creates a lot of anticipation for next week.
Besides it featured the guy who played Weyoun in DS9.
I’m pretty damn passionate about it, but I’ve learned not to want every episode to be life-changing. And yes, you may enjoy it, MoonKnight . I thought it was decent.
I watched this episode again and liked it a lot more the second time around. Really tragic in its own way, and touched on some important issues.
I’ll remove the “filler” tag from this one, it did bridge an important gap - now they know where the stone is, and have a means of getting there.
Also, I thought Flicker was cute.
I am sad about the tank also, and a little baffled they wrecked it so thoroughly - it looks like the thing got hit by a meteor.
I agree with your second point that the cohesion from episode to episode is a little erratic, I’ve really noticed this in particular with the Lion-O/Pumyra relationship. It’s like none of the writers knew what was written in any of the previous episodes, so they all did their take on it, and it’s a bit of a mess.
Yes, he’s right…enjoy it Moonknight! I did. Just because others don’t like it doesn’t mean you can’t like it. I hated “Recipe for Disaster” but it seemed to be popular, and I liked “Survival of the Fittest” and few others did.

I enjoyed it more the second time too. I’d recommend it to anyone who didn’t like it the first time.
I’m pretty easy to please I guess, Legacy and Soul Sever were probably my least favorites but still likable and I would watch them again.
