I’d bet both of the family goats on you being right about that one.
Not to change the subject but I NEED screenshots of Tygra with flowers in his mane I almost died laughing and wished he would have snuggled with Cheetara some, she had the same look on her face as my cat who LOVES affection but when you snuggle her like Elmyra she runs for the hills. I’m sure it was his spotted girlfriend’s job to keep an eye on him until the next morning, at least that’s my head theory that is scrambling to be fic hilarity.

You’re definitely not the only one who was upset by the love potion.
I’m not throwing a fit over it or anything, but I do wish that writers of childrens’ shows would think for a while and remember that we have “love potions” in real life, and they’re used to hurt people. I wish the love potion trope would fade away and disappear. It’s just a thing for me.
He wanted to talk to her about his feelings but didn’t think she would be open to that, the problem is he didn’t even ask her. He intended to use the potion not to make her fall in love with him, but to lower her inhibitions a little bit so he could try and talk to her about where both of them stand. He had the right idea, but the way he went about it is totally wrong (Ponzi’s crappy advice to take the love potion didn’t help things at all.
The tragedy of the whole thing is that Lion-O probably knows Pumyra better than any of the other Thundercats, and possibly better than any cat has for a long time, but still has trouble getting her to open up. Now that’s not exactly her fault, he’s still making assumptions without talking to people.
I still have to give him credit for recognizing what (and who) he wants and actually going after it this time rather than thinking she’ll just come to him, and it’s nice to see for all of his progress as a king, a warrior and as a man he still has lessons to learn when it comes to things like girls. It looks like they may have reached an understanding in this episode. If Lion-O wants Pumyra to like him all he has to do is keep being that same compassionate, confident, and determined guy who will always be there for her and never let her down.
Like I said before, it’s really because it’s his first real romantic feeling. Cheetara was just a crush. Therefore, he felt desperate to show his feelings to Pumyra and thought she wouldn’t let him. I honestly think she would, but back on topic. It didnt help that he thinks she’s such a powerful person that she doesn’t even have any feelings, because she does. He knows now that Pumyra is attracted to him just as he is, and that he doesn’t need to flirt or anything. As of now, I’m pretty sure they’ll be together. The ending where Ponzi winked at them really confirmed it.
If you look closely she grabs his arm after that, so I’d say things are moving forward for them. Too bad he left her on her own earlier to play with her bow while he hid behind trees, she looked like she would have liked some company.
I’m still wondering if the others know that Lion-O is the one who made Tygra chase insects and sniff flowers. Did anyone even try to figure out what was wrong with him? And what did Lion-O say then? “Maybe it’s his time of the month?” … or what?
He did. Did you miss the first couple minutes? We see him in the Pyramid talking about the Demon and calling the ASOE to summon it and infect it with his spirit.
That would have been a great time to tell her about his feelings. He was just not sure what to do at the moment. Give him a break, he still got her in the end!

Consider your request filled. I’ll usually get these episodes after they’ve aired online for two reasons: Supporting this series, and to add to my downloadables collection. The other reason is to obtain it, in the event I’ve missed it when it first aired because I’m usually busy hosting a blog with friends on weekends, and moreso now in the summertime, with convention season starting in my area.
My nitpicks
Just want to plug in, that I DO have nitpicks about this episode and the show in general.
- Tygra’s new whip has been pretty much ignored by the writers
- Pumyra’s weapon is cool, but I miss the slingy thing she had in the OS
- Pumyra being a healer was only hinted at in “The Pit” where she bandaged Lion-O
- The thundercat signal apparently has no value but to be used as a war banner
- Still miss the intro
- The sword of omens does not warn Lion-O of danger, empower the other cats, nor can he call it to himself
- Somewhat agreed.
- Why would she need that against a GIANT DINOSAUR THINGY?
- Tygra isn’t an architect. Cheetara doesn’t have her “sixth sense”. Why does Pumyra have to be a healer?
- The meaning behind it will be revealed later, apparently.
- Me too.
- The NS wouldn’t be interesting if he could do all that stuff. Considering they lost the sword almost every other episode in the original, he kind of needed to be able to do that. Maybe after he collects more stones he will be able to do that stuff.

As for this episode, it really did remind me of the original series, moreso with the ThunderCats theme music playing in the background, and when Lion-O was attacking Mumm-Ra with the Sword of Omens. It was reminiscent of his moves in the OS’s opening.
