Anyone else notice they now have Pamela Adlon doing “additional voices” work in the show too? (she was the mom of the girl with the pink beard). Sounds like she’s sticking around for a good long time.

This was a good episode; it’s about time they did a comedic one about the Cats. Someone here commented on the Godzilla/Mothra angle of the fight between Mumm-Ra/Sycorex and the transformed Lucy. I haven’t seen those old Godzilla or Mothra flicks in years, so I’ll accept that person’s observation. Very good animation, especially with regards to the rippling water in Mumm-Ra’s cauldron. The humor was excellent: Lion-O’s clumsy attempts to woo Pumyra in the woods (I guess for him being a warrior king is a lot easier), Pumyra’s face looking like a doll’s after being burned by that flower juice, and Tygra turning all warm and fuzzy after drinking Ponzi’s love potion meant for Pumyra. Tygra hugging Lion-O while saying, “You’re the bestest little brother a big brother ever had” was priceless! It’s a good twist Tab Murphy put on Ponzi; one would never have thought a Wollo could be a scammer in the OS. I loved the story’s salute with the new Lion-O battling Mumm-Ra/Sycorex in the same way that Lion-O fought Mumm-Ra in the old show’s opening credits. These nods to the OS are wonderful and I hope the NS keeps it up.

Oh, please, this is a cartoon show, not a doctor series. No one would take the love potion angle seriously because it’s fantasy. I’m sure there are enough parents out there who would tell their kids that it is just that, and that they’re not to copy what they see in the story because it might get them into serious trouble.

I didn’t like Pumyra being the damsel in distress, either, because that was so unlike her. If Mumm-Ra/Sycorax had backed her up against the rock while she was desperately firing away at him, then Lion-O’s rescuing her would have made more sense instead of her putting away her bow and just standing around waiting for him. Tab Murphy did a great job with this story, but he flubbed a little there.
The whole thing with the potion being “too much for kids” is crap. It wasn’t even any sort of drugs, and even when Tygra took it, it wore off. It would have probably made her really happy like Tygra but she would have forgotten about it (like Tygra seemed to). So overall, Lion-O learned his lesson, and I don’t think the whole potion thing should be worried about.

I agree too, but she didn’t seem extremely distressed. However, none of the other cats were present so it seemed like it was just her against Mumm-Ra. So Lion-O coming out to save her just showed how much he really cares for her.
Seems I’ve upset some folks just because I looked at the love potion as a no-no:rolleyes:, hold your horses, I’m not getting in a tizzy over it and neither should you, it’s not crazy nor a load of crap I just thought it’d be good to have someone tell Lion-O someone could have gotten hurt with him messing with it, an offhanded thought that I rambled on about a little. I was once given something without my consent that landed me in the emrgency room (wasn’t a drug either I was just highly allergic) and I was just offhandedly thinking on giving people things without their consent and the harmful effects saying something on it is a good idea, I wasn’t foaming at the mouth about it, just rambling.

No, you’re absolutely right. As someone who had a family member roofie-'d once, with a result that could have been unimaginably bad (but fortunately wasn’t), I wasn’t amused at all by this particular detail in the episode. It was in very poor taste.
I didnt think you were getting into a tizzy over it. You said it was wrong, and it was wrong. Why else would Lion-O need to slip it into her drink with out her knowing? We all know he wasnt trying to hurt her, it was just not a nice thing to do. Personally, if someone wanted to slam him for it, I wouldnt think them in the wrong.
The results were of course hilarious (who didn’t think Tygra was adorable and hilariously OOC? I love how big and glossy like a little cub his eyes got in some of those moments, I don’t care who knows it I LOVE Tygra all silly and sweet as much as macho Tygra!) but in real life someone could have dropped dead, but yeah it’s just a cartoon but I couldn’t help thinking briefly on real world consequences, like I said I wasn’t mad just didn’t care for that part and since I tend to ramble I’m sure it gave the impression that I was going to write an angry letter LOL when I simply finished rambling and shrugged mentally “eh it’s a cartoon”.
We’re they really? They were more selfish than good. Once again, I don’t think his intentions were to hurt her. Regardless dosing someone’s drink is not ok.
I know we hate when the writing is compromised for the sake of the younger audience, but it wouldnt be the first time a kid did something he saw off a t.v show. Ever hear about the kid who buried himself in sand because he wanted to be Gaara of the Desert from Naruto?

It is not okay. But he wasn’t really being very selfish (trying to focus on the cartoon, not real life). He genuinely likes Pumyra and thought that would be the only way he could confess his love to her and talk to her about his/her feelings.
I know ya understand me Chique, you always do! It just wasn’t a smart thing to do even though Lion-O’s intents were extremely innocent he just wanted her open to him telling her how he felt without risk of her turning abrasive (Lion-O was FREAKIN ADORABLE I wanted to hug him this episode) he was obviously terrified of rejection (didn’t Ponzi say it would soften the hardest of hearts? BTW I KNEW in that moment Tygra was going to end up drinking it!) that I just think someone should have remarked “ya know your majesty someone could have gotten hurt, and luckily they didn’t so no more magic elixirs k?”

That’s what makes it selfish. He was so desperate to talk to her, that he was willing to slip her something so she would be a little more open to his affections. I know he didn’t intend for her to be hurt, nor do I think the writers were trying to get me to feel like he wanted to hurt her. It’s just one of those things that should have been given a little more thought. That’s all.
