If Cheetara gets jealous because of Pumyra, develops a crush on Lion-O and starts neglecting Tygra enough because of it that he would notice something is up, he is not the one who should have to do something to “win Cheetara back”, she is the one who should have to prove to him that she wouldn’t rather be with Lion-O. And about the bolded part, how would him knowing that she could lose interest in him the moment she sees something she can’t have bring them closer together? That’s not me being overly romantic, that’s me knowing that a successful relationship is based on a great deal of trust and having seen many relationships fall apart because that trust is broken.
I’m all for adding some drama to their relationship. Have them clash because of their different ways of looking at the world. Have Cheetara get angry at Tygra because he’s still not being supportive enough of Lion-O for Cheetara’s taste. Have any of them be seduced by “the dark side” for a while. I just don’t want any more lovetriangles. They’re old and boring. Do not want, ever.
Yes. There are many, many, many reasons for couples to have conflicts between them that don’t involve one of them randomly getting romantically jealous over someone they have explicitly established purely platonic feelings for.
So the second everything isn’t 100% perfect anymore, Tygra should just be like “oh well not my fault bye!”, sure sounds like he is a great guy if he did that. How about instead he takes this as an opportunity to show her he really cares about her and wants to be with her instead. And yes, such a thing can go a long way into strengthening a relationship. I can give you the example of one of my best friends who had something like this happen, and now he is happily married to her and they had their second child in the beginning of this year.
And… he’s not showing her he really cares about her and wants to be with her now?
I was specifically talking about adding drama to the relationship so I don’t see what that has to do with it.
But if the drama was Cheetara chasing after Lion-O now that he’s starting something with Pumyra, the drama would happen when Tygra is already acting head over heels in love. So why did you even bring that up if you don’t see what it has to do with it?

Surely you can see how overcoming hardships can make you come out stronger afterwards? Like i said before that is actually a theme in a lot of character development in the NS. Lion-o’s struggle to be a worthy king is one example.
Also I am not seeing Tygra acting head over heels in love, atleast that’s not what I would picture when hearing that expression.

Sure I can see that. I just can’t see it happening if one of them actively pursued someone else. If Tygra put the moves on Pumyra because he wants what Lion-O has or something, I’d be cheering for Cheetara to dump his stripey butt, because if you do it once, you’re likely to do it again, and I know I personally don’t want to be with a guy I don’t trust not to fool around with others. Same thing if Cheetara goes after Lion-O. Having confused feelings about someone or lusting after them is one thing, acting on those feelings to the point where your partner notices is something else. My mom always says “It’s okay to get hungry when you’re out, as long as you always eat at home” when talking about relationships, and that’s become my philosophy as well.
I could definitely see them grow stronger as a couple from overcoming other similar hardships. For example, Cheetara getting over protective of Lion-O when he starts to get together with Pumyra, Tygra seeing it and interpreting it as her wanting Lion-O for herself, and them then working out their misunderstandings and insecurities together. But not Cheetara going “You know how I said I didn’t want Lion-O, I want you? Ummm, yeah, I kinda changed my mind.”
Looking at Tygra’s character, I see his behaviour in Curse of Ratilla as him being head over heels in mushy love.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around why the TC crew is setting up Lion-O with Pumyra since she is nothing more than a female version of Tygra.
And why does your mom say that? Because these things do happen. But that is talking about actively cheating or sleeping with someone else, way beyond what I am describing. Can’t you see that if they handled this in the light-hearted manner that thundercats deals with things that it really wouldn’t be that bad?

Of course I know it happens, I never said it doesn’t.
For Tygra to know about Cheetara’s sudden interest in Lion-O and her feelings to become a problem that causes “great drama”, wouldn’t she have to actively act on her feelings, i.e. cheat or try to cheat? I’m not sure I’d even want them to turn that into something light-hearted and fun.
I guess I can’t see this the way you do. I don’t see the appeal. I just don’t want any more boring old lovetriangles (lovesquare?). Ever. It’s bad enough that we had one already.
In the end, all we can do is wait and see what the writers will do and hope for something we’ll be happy with.

Pumyra is with Lion-O, and Cheetara is with Tygra. It’s such a great idea! I really hope…oh wait.
A romantic relationship that doesn’t involve Lion-O/Cheetara in any way? Careful there, you might actually blow some minds! 
The other thing you have to consider is even if Cheetara starts to show any interest in Lion-O would Lion-O even want her anymore? He claims to be over her and is trying to move on with Pumyra, and appears to be far more taken with her than he ever was with Cheetara. To the point where he can actually see and describe what he likes about her and actively tries to grab her attention and earn her affection. He even has made attempts to try and talk to her about their feelings rather than just assuming she feels the same way (in fact he seems to have the opposite idea).
I know he seems a little awkward and childish in his attempts to woo her in this episode, and it can feel like he’s regressing a bit to his pre-trials personality, but the fact that he’s actively going after the girl, even if it’s just to talk to her shows great progress on his part. He’s trying much harder this time and knows that just because he’s king that doesn’t mean a girl will like him. It’s something that must be earned, and this time he’s willing to do the work.
Imagine the harm Cheetara could do if Pumyra thinks Lion-O still has a thing for her.
Imagine the harm Pumyra could do if she thought Lion-O still had a thing for Cheetara. 
She already knows he did have a thing for Cheetara. He seems much more interested in Pumyra than he ever was with Cheetara, though.
