I think he was kind of speaking to both of them, but he told Cheetara specifically to let her know he no longer harbors any hard feelings, but that’s just my own personal fan-wank.

Ok so here is a question…in this episode we saw a young Jaga using the Sword of Omens. This would mean 1 of 2 things…that Claudis gave Jaga the sword to use against Ratilla, OR that when Jaga was young HE was once king of the thundercats. And later became a cleric for the new king. Either way I think both ideas are cool. BUT, if Claudis gave Jaga the sword to use, would that mean one day Lion-O could give the sword to Tygra to use???
Or Jaga has served multiple generations of kings and the king at the time gave the sword to Jaga because of his magical skill. Or Ratilla killed the current king at the time and Jaga was serving as regent until the rightful heir could take over. Or it was just a neat shout out to the old show which had a young Jaga wielding the sword in flashbacks.
Claudus (or maybe even the king before Claudus considering Jaga’s knowledge of Claudus’s childhood and the fact that Jaga is REALLY OLD) gave him the sword to use. Lions are the only ones that can be king unless all the lions are dead (Trials of Lion-O Parts 1 and 2).

This series gets better and better as we go! Well, we now know that Tygra’s a skeptic, and tried using logic, when they went for the Sword of Plun-Darr. It seems he doesn’t believe in magic, like Cheetara does. Oh, and it also appears Tygra likes his crackers with cheese. Am I the only one who thought the whole lovey-dovey thing between those two was cheesy? In all fairness, I liked that Panthro called them out on their flirting.
It also looks like Pumyra’s got a thing for Lion-O as well, after he wished Cheetara well on hers and Tygra’s way down the mine. However, this was definitely all about Pumyra!! Holy crap, that temper! Ill-tempered cat got claws and I like!! I loved that she stuck around to help Lion-O. Notice, I said Lion-O and not the others in the team, help free their people.
I am disappointed that we didn’t see Lynx-O in this. Perhaps in a later episode?? Curious, perhaps he found his way to the Tower of Omens by now? Either way, this was a pretty damn good episode, compared to last.
As for the kittens, they’re still in Dog City, tracking down Tookit. It’ll be the payoff of this story-arc.
