That was one of my personal favorite episodes. I thought Rataro was portrayed very well and the story was really good. Pumyra is a beast, and Lion-O was also really good in this episode. My favorite part was Panthro saying “Maybe you should start with me…he’s trying to get us out of this!”
This felt like a pretty good episode. Everyone got plenty of screen time, save for the Kittens and Snarf, who I’m pretty sure are still in the Dog town. And got some cool flashbacks and Lion-O’s mercy coming through again.
So, how long ago was that flashback? How old is/was Jaga? A hundred years.
Pumyra isn’t sticking with the other Thundercats, she’s sticking with Lion-O.
The skeleton on the mountain and the flashback to Ratilla and Jaga fighting were GREAT nods to the OS. So cool!!! Ratar-O being a ruthless tyrant was great. I also liked how is design was pretty identical to his appearance in the OS. Could have gone with the Pumyra/Lion-O flirting part but I have stated it before and I am against the idea of Lion-O having a love interest at this time. But Panthro coming in and saying thats enough flirting was great. It’s good to see they are at least going to utilize the Tower of Omens. or at least planned too.
I loved the episode. It was on the darker side and I believe is the start of a few more darker more epic episodes!!
Actually, the whole “last time” opening instead of the regular micro-theme made it feel to me more like the middle of a three-part episode.
There’s no plot/timeline holes. Mummra had the sword, lost it at some point in the crash. The cats built up a very insular, almost but not quite xenophobic society, so they KNEW about technology, but ignored it and supressed it. Over time they forgot about it because it simply wasn’t part of their lives. But it was there, as the traders and LionO could attest to in the pilot. Most people just ignored it that’s all. And as for mumm ra, pretty much the same thing. Remember, Jaga must have seen whole generations pass. History passed into legend, legend into myth. A real person became a boogey man, a story parents told to scare their children.
I think it is a three part ark. Next Saturday look like a big battle.
amazing episode! they just keep getting better. i liked seeing pumyra a bada$$ and knocking liono around like that. it’s good to see the action getting more sophisticated. rataro and liono actually USED their weapons instead of force blasts. very cool episode all around, easily one of my favorites.
But the only one who knew about the Sword of PlunDarr previously was Lion-O. So how did Ratar-O know it is Mumm-Ra’s sword?
I think its more of a general arc rather than a two parter, with three or four episodes blending into one. For example next week we get the conclusion to the kittens b story from last week and there will probably be a b story involving the other cats.
The three episodes could even be spliced together and repackaged as a direct-to-DVD movie (sort of like the “Thundercats, HO!” storyline from the original series). If Pumyra proves to be a highly popular character (Which I think she will be, sixth ranger and all) they could even use her appearance in marketing the film (New Enemies! NEW Allies! Including a Brand-New Thundercat!).

Next to The Forest of Magi Oar, this episode is my favorite! It’s something about Pumyra I like but can’t put it into words =)

I would think after Mumm-Ra was freed he would’ve sent out minions to search for it.
He’s been around a fair while, we can assume there is a lot of history we don’t know about. He obviously found out at some point. Maybe well find out how in a flashback?
Such a solid episode, everything I like I see in this show.
Intro of OS character redone in a great way. Check.
Flashback to further expand, explain and enrich this reimagining of Thundercats. Check.
Great action and cool location. Check.
Oh, and Pumyra flirting with Lion-O.

this is probably the best of the new series so far it had humor which has been flat out missing. the storyline was much better and the action was not to bad. i did also like the flirting with everyone involved i give it a 6 plus as it felt like something was finally accomplished
