I agree with Gold Lion on his opservations, it’s Cheetarah he is mad at not Tygra. He was definitly worried when he saw Tygra tied up. I also doubt he would let Cheetarah come to harm even if he is angry at her. It sounded more like tough talk but Cheetarah gave up too easily so it didn’t work.
The love triangle between Cheetara, Lion-O, and Tygra was indeed poor. Cheetara could’ve replied to Lion-O, “Because…I was encouraging you,” instead of “Because…Jaga asked me to watch you.” For her to use Jaga as an excuse seems low to me.
Haven’t thought of it that way.

I don’t know if younger fans are aware of it,but Tygra always had a certain darkness in him which was brought to the surface at some episodes in the OS. It is contradictory considering that Lion-O had appointed Tygra to be the next Lord in case something bad happened to him.
I am thrilled that the new set of writers have included Tygra’s ‘evil’ side as well in the NewT,moreover they have expanded the bad aspect of each character so as to cause trouble between the brothers and the stability of the team.
As we move on in the story i expect more rivalry and conflict to come forward but this will make the plot even more interesting. The new Mutants was a great addition, they pose an imminent threat not only for Thundercast but the peacefull races of Third Earth too. Let’s see what Mumm-ra has in store for them.
Panthro’s new hand were a bit of Mr. Fantastic! and the producers could omit that part, yet again it isn’t a major point which detracts from the overall quality of the show.Besides don’t forget that Lion-O’s SoO in the OS had also shown ‘awkward’ abilities, like in the episode Tower of traps, where the sword prolonged as if it was a double spear.
We witness first hand, step by step Lion-O’s road to maturity. It is going to take him awhile until he feels certain for his abilities and Tcats recognize him as a capable leader who has mastered the sword’s mystic powers and is finally ready to follow them to victory over the forces of evil.His gradual ascension to the throne and progressive self improvement is depicted so good in the show so far.The young leader has to undergo a personal quest and odyssey in order to level up and be a worthy leader, i really like it that nothing is de facto.
I see no childish elements in the love triangle neither to the sequence of events up to this stage.On the other hand, those of us who have watched over and over again the old cartoon and a pile of major questions were raised about various points in the Thundercats world, are content enough to see now answers are given and important issues covered.
I think it is unfair to blame the producers for trying to expand the story and deal with serious matters
I really hope the upcoming trials are a major turning point for Lion-O. I am so sick of his “Wah, I’ll do it by myself!” , “You’re wrong because your name isn’t Lion-O” attitude. It’s time to grow up and act like the Lord of the Thundercats, kid.
I wonder if Panthro will even bother with his nunchuks now that he is all stretchy. 
Actually we did see the prison. The prison Lion-O and Tygra were in after the Lizards took over was still in Thundera.
I am really wondering to see the outcome of the ‘Trial of Mind Power’, Tygra forced Lion-O to live through his worst nightmares at the original Trials and was by far the most interesting as well as difficult to pass and consider that Lion-O and Tygar were in good terms…Also, in this episode Tygra manifested for one and only time his mystic mind abilities which are very powerfull and disruptive.I’d love to see more of his latent abilities.
It is inevitable that Lion-O will grow up, but it’s going to take some time and effort.Personally i believe that will happen after he completely understands and controls over his sword.But indeed the Trial will certainly be a turning point
I think I would have accepted extendable cyber-arms on Panthro a bit more if they’d been something more like The Legend of Zelda’s Hookshoot, with the fists mounted on some sort of retracting chain or similar device. Useful both for rocket punches and as grappling hooks. But this whole Reed Richards deal with his prosthetics is just… not right.
As for the relationship triangle… well, where do we post TV-14(L) fanart?

Does anyone else find a ressemblance between Addicus and 2002 MOTU’s Beastman? Not only in the looks, but in the gutural sounds when he was about to eat the birdmen (also, I was disappointed that birdmen had arms as well as wings… birds don’t have arms lol).
I agree that OS’ Tygra had a misterious side, not sure of calling it “evil” or “dark” though because his caharcter was based on integrity and, from all the OS TCs, he seemed the most moral and attached to the code to me.
I do like though that they’re exploring a dark side for each character.
And I’m looking forward his mind power as well, hope they decide to give him that this time around, and use it in more than one episode. Also want to see Cheetara’s sixth sense, so far nothing of it.

I think it is very nice writing,Tygra’s enigmatic character has so much potential for being even more interesting than Lion-O.My theory is that they didn’t explore further his mind powers because they would have to delve into his dark side as well!! which wouldn’t be proper to shown during the ‘moral’-driven decade Thudercats were shown.

panthros new mr. fantastic stretchy arms really took alot away from thundercats for me.l felt it just dumbed down the show and lessened the epic feel of the show. it will be hard to over look !!
Buenas noches amigos! Yeah, I’ve got to agree with Gold Lion. I’m inclined to be less conflicted about Lion-O than Cheetara. I mean, I LOVE LOVE that the heroes make mistakes, because although it was as others said a lose/lose situation, I was expecting stubbornness to win out; I really couldn’t imagine Lion-O surrendering if for nothing else, than to imitate his father (certainly not for lack of love for his bro, but almost out of principle, such as being more permissive of placing family or close friends in an uncomfortable situations; you expect them to handle it to a degree- not that its the right thing to do, but it wasn’t unexpected of Lion-O’s character). He’ll surrender for a village of innocents, but he probably expects his brother to houdini his way out. This is the guy that has kicked his tail his entire life. And after Tygra’s poor judgement with the tree the previous episode, Lion-O’s poor judgement here, is about equal in my opinion.
Cheetara, on the other hand, maybe it’s just that there is not much we have to go on with her. Or maybe we’re making it harder than it is. Girl has her flaws too. She had options, and while what she did is what likely many of us would do in that situation- it was not what we expected of her character. She seemed like someone to put duty first and heart second. Or find a compromise between the two. Maybe that’s what she’s working at, and yes, she’s flubbing up along the way. I really, REALLY wish we could see her acting, just being herself with no Lion-O involvement, to get a real grasp of her character.

As a huge Tygra fans, those are some of my favorite eps, and have watched them millions of times
I agree with you in that Tygra had an enigmatic, obscure side, big enough to make him a much more interesting character than Lion-o (I think that’s one reason why producers started cutting his appearences and lines), and that he was the only character to got that far.
But I don’t see it as a signal of an “evil” or “dark” side, but more as a conflicted nature between control and out-of-control, mixed with some amazing powers he didn’t manage to control very well, which ut him at the edge of addiction when external stimuli tricked his always-under-control mind.
My main problem with Panthro’s super powerful new arms is that he was supposed to be the strong man in the gang, and I mean naturally strong, aided by exercise and experience, but with these new arms that element is lost. Now he’s the strong one because of those mighty mechanic arms, not because of himself.
Am I the only one who wonders if the new Vultureman (if he shows up) will be the hooded executioner from Addicus’ foiled execution?
I thought that too! If you look at his eyes it has an evil glow to them compared to the other birds.
