Into the Astral Plane

The Cats are ready to retrieve the stone from the “Astral Plane” in the Elephant Village, but find it overtaken by Grune and Mumm-Ra’s forces. Plus, Tygra and Cheetara’s early relationship to one another is revealed.

I might be wrong, but this episode looks like it’s going to be a big step up in the right direction again - the last few episodes have been good (last week’s was my favourite since the series’ resumption), but my criticism has been the absence of Grune and Mumm-Ra. Great to see them back!

Im glad theyre bringing back lizards and grune and more familiar faces, i just hope the episode is long enough to give us a lot of info, sometimes the good episodes feel a little rushed and always leave us wanting more…out of all the episodes the one that really felt complete was the legacy…felt like they gave a lot of good info, no time wasted on that episodee!!!
Interestingly, the Dish Network info screen for this ep indicated that Tygra’s jealousy towards Lion-O would be reaching a breaking point.
I think everyone who has been begging for more Cheetara and Tygra all season (including me) will be very happy campers come friday.
Hey cool. Now we know why Tygra said, “Cheetara?!” when she revealed herself as a cleric to him and Lion-O in the second episode. The way he said it sounded as if he had a history with her but never knew she was a cleric. This could also explain the Berbils episode in which we saw the two of them sleeping with his arm around her - if they were friends as children and have that comfortableness with one another. But it seems to me as though Lion-O doesn’t know that they knew each other as children which I find a bit curious since I would think Lion-O would have seen Cheetara as well, or perhaps he was just too young to care about girls at the time.
I would have to agree with you. And I’m excited that it looks like we’ll finally be getting some back story to some of the other ThunderCats.
The first clip was really cute. I wonder if the voice actors for the two characters voiced them as children or if they hired kid actors to voice them.
I would like to know when the kittens are going to get their Space Boards. 
Just found an animation goof in one of the still pictures. Wilykit has ears again. Personally, I like her better with ears. She looks like a pixie when she has them.

but…hey hold on…Grune is holding the sword in one of the pics? does this mean he’s not truly evil?
This episode looks to be a really good one. Some character developement for Tigra and Cheetara, more mutant action, Cheetara’s magic staff.
He sounded genuinely surprised to see her. One of those still pictures is of her facing Jaga and he doesn’t look happy at all, he looks mad in fact. Maybe he was denying her into the clerics. Maybe because of her age or maybe they never let girls join the clerics. After all, we didn’t see any female soldiers that I recall. It may be that the clerics were always men only and Cheetara ended up being the first exception? Hard to say. But Tygra did wink at her in the first episode so perhaps he knew it was her and when he said his surprised “Cheetara?” when she revealed herself in the second episode it was because he assumed she died with most of the other clerics and was surprised that she alone with Jaga survived. Lion-O was the one who said, “She’s a cleric?” so he obviously did not know that about her.
I don’t think that anyone but Mumm-Ra is pure evil. I think Grune is misguided, but it was also Grune who seemed to go insane when he kept hearing Mumm-Ra’s voice. Is it possible that Mumm-Ra has cast some kind of spell on Grune? And maybe that sword has one of the other stones in it or is a fake?
Do you think from the clips we saw that Tygra and Cheetara had any romantic experiences when they were younger or do we think they are just fond childhood friends or it was just Tygra who crushed on Cheetara? And where do we think Cheetara stands on Lion-o and Tygra now as opposed to then?
maybe the sword can see in shades of grey. maybe that’s why even though they established last episode that it can’t harm good, Claudus could use it against the Lizards. it might not shock Grune until he attempts to use it against Lion-O but Mumm-Ra is more evil and can’t touch it at all.
Seems like if the jealousy issue is centered around Cheetara its looking like more of a valid reason for it, Tygra seemed completely smitten and who knows how long he’s carried a torch for her?
Actually, in OS episode “Crystal Canyon” (aka “The Keystone” ;)) he said he was shy as a child, so maybe the producers stuck to the facts 
I think Lion-os’ mind is going to be blown that’s for sure.

If Cheetara truly likes Lion-o than her opinion of him could change for the better if Lion-o is cool about it. Sadly I don’t think its going to go down like that. Cheetara could also see him for a child if he over reacts to a previous childhood friendship.
If Cheetara is down with the Tygra than Lion-o will learn he is done. and he will Captain Kirk all over 3rd earth.
I remember OS Tygra being shy and I love that they seem to be incorporating some of the old Tygra into the new, I said before I felt like this new Tygra may have some of the old’s insecurities as well just much better hidden.
Err…Tygra didn’t have his arm around Cheetara when they were sleeping next to each other in the Berbil episode. You don’t see his hand on the other side of her body.
You are right though as that would explain why Tygra and Cheetara have the comfortableness around each other if they were childhood friends. She would have no problem sleeping next to a childhood friend.
I thought it was Lion-O that said that line about Cheetara being a cleric in the second episode? It would make more sense since Tygra seems to know her already and would know this while Lion-O doesn’t.
Anyways onto other things. First of all, Cheetarah’s new staff looks really cool and powerful. And on Grune holding the Sword of Omens in front of Lion-O and Cheetarah, I’m thinking it would have to do with something like Lion-O trading it for the safety for one of his teammates or Tygra. This would definately be something that would **** off Tygra alot I think, especially if Cheetara supports Lion-O’s decision on the matter.
I think Lion-O would be more shocked if he learned Tygra and Cheetara had a past together then reacting badly to it. And Tygra holding a torch for Cheetara for so long but knowing that she likes Lion-O would definately get him jealous and a bit angry at Lion-O.
