I just read on Toynewsi that Thundercats was not listed as a returning show on Cartoon Network’s press release on next year’s schedule. I thought it was a bad sign that they moved the series from friday night to saturday morning and the Bandai Toy Fair Thundercats booth was also a downer.
Ugh, that’s not a good sign. 
has the show not had good ratings? people seem to like the show, both adults and kids, but maybe the show just isnt drawing in the viewers like we think it is
The ratings were decent. I thought someone on the show confirmed they were renewed for 52 episodes? 
Fear not, this isn’t Sym-Bionic Titan all over again because Thundercats has big financial backers who just so happen to own their own TV networks to air the show on if Cartoon Network wants to drop it. It could easily move to the CW (which is also owned by Warner Bros.) If WB really wants to continue the show.
Maybe thats because they all ready had a 2 year deal?
I don’t understand why Cartoon Network would bother to move it to Saturday if it was cancelled. Why not just keep it where it is and let it run its course?
i havent looked much at the ratings, but what ive heard they are ok…i dont want to jump into any premature conclusions, but if the show does get cancelled it wont be a surprise for me, im the biggest thundercat fan, but honestly the show has been weak over all, its missing the “magic” of the old show, the writing has been terrible and it comes across, the dialogue sometimes seems like it was written by a child and some of episodes just seem of tempo with no real depth to them. i cant quite say why, there are developments as the episodes progress, yet it sill feels slow…not enough mummra, not enough grune when he was around. these producers had all the tools to remake this show and i think they dropped the ball when they decided to change it so much. i pray to god that they speed things up and make this not a complete failure, by the way Bandai has done a terrible job distributing a promoting these toys!!!

Someone on Thundercats.ws pointed out that there are other shows not listed on that release that are confirmed to stick around though, like Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and Young Justice.
I agree, I think the writing improved greatly. And they don’t have the corny joke at the end anymore. I always asked why they all laughed when I didn’t even think the joke was funny back then.

Well it says the show is coming back this year. So far only 52 episodes has been confirmed which means that when the show gets back this may we have at least episodes til the end of the year.
That was in November. I talked to Andrea Romano last month and she said nothing was confirmed on another 26 episodes yet.

Young Justice was on the returning shows list. Scooby-Doo comes back in May. The upfronts are for shows probably in late 2012 and 2013.
I hope we at least get 52 episodes for this series if not more. It anoys me so that shows I really like end after a season or two but shows like Johnny Test(dexter’s lab ripoff), Level Up, Ninjago, Adventure Time and others I can’t stand will not go away. Even worse are the new shows like a live action comedy show, another legos one, another combuter animated DC show, and the new Ben 10 looks really bad. The only thing that catches my interest is the show based on how to train your dragon and even then I might not like the new voices for the characters.
Yeah, I truly hope that the show is not cancelled! THUNDERCATS, HOOOOO!
Huh, I was expecting an answer on this when I woke up this morning. You’d think if it weren’t true WB/CN would want to squash the rumor before it got out of control.
This is starting to feel like the He-Man reboot all over again…
well one could sit and debate every aspect of both shows, but the only proof is that it ran for 165 episodes and 20 plus years were still talking bout it…dont get me wrong i crossing my fingers the new show keeps going, but so far it needs tons of improvements.
I think it’s a bit premature yet to go running around screaming, “The sky is falling!” right now. Unfortunately fanboy sites like Topless Robot are already repeating this news, citing the same source. So they’re not helping matters.
Hopefully CN/WB will issue a statement clarifying things soon. Right now, though, barring any announcement here from Dan Norton or anyone else involved with the show, I’ll just assume it’s an honest mistake and that they unintentionally omitted it. Besides, they’ve still got their 52 episode order.
i dont want to divert this from thundercats, but since someone mentioned it, why did He man the rebooted series get cancelled?? i watched bout a year ago and i thought it was great…
