From what I remember it was a combination of the toy line not performing well and Cartoon Network moving the show around in the schedule which led to poor ratings. It was a great show, the companies behind it just messed up. Similar to what seems to be happening with Thundercats.
that a shame, bout 2 years ago i bought the entire series and as i watched it i thought it was amazing, everything was so close to the original but improved…i was bummed when it just ended…i couldnt figure out what could have happened cause it was great.
I absolutely refuse to believe ThunderCats is in danger of cancellation. Whoever believes that does not believe in the true spirit of the franchise. I know that Lion-O and friends will come back for another season right after season one finishes its broadcast.
I’ve seen far too many quality shows drop dead due to bizarre corporate decisions for me to be able to just brush this off.
Your not the only one Tygra that seen many good shows end because of stupid business or political reasons.
worst case scenario…show gets cancelled… i only have one request, i hope they continue the classics line like mattel has been with he man…by the way theyve done a superb job
Another thing that has me worried is the complete lack of communication from the crew working on the show. Thundercats came back after a long hiatus and all they posted on the blog was “Back.” and nothing since then.
I´ll just wait and see what happens.
Where is this blog? Did they usual talk more during the first 13 episodes? That would be a bad sign

During the first run they posted plenty of behind the scenes info and answered some fan questions. Now? Nothing.
The crew blog has been pretty much dead since episode 13 aired. From what I’ve been told it was ran by Will Feng and was done in his personal time and as such he could easily just not have had time to do anything with it.

I am not at home, i am out of town for a business trip, i wouldn’t be in Athens for a bout a week and unfortunatelly don’t have access to the internet, to regularly check on the Lair.I just read about the Cancellation rumour and i am shocked. It all sarted two days ago when specualtios about the Thundercats Toyline failure surfaced.I won’t believe nothing until it is official, please guys be carefull when posting about a possible cancellation of the show. We should be very cautious.
I see no actual reasons to abruptly end the new Series.

Hmmm, this is really a bad sign Tygra. Between that and the complete radio silence during the 3 month hiatus, the complete lack of advertising for the show by CN and the no show by bandai at the toyfair, it certainly doesn’t bode well. I don’t understand the point of them keeping the fans in the dark on this though if it is all over the forums even as just rumors, are they afraid they will lose even more money if they confirm that the show isn’t being renewed for the second block of 26 episodes? I personally would rather just have the news now if it is true, it won’t deter me from watching what is left of the show or getting merchandise, I love Thundercats man. I’m honestly happy we even got a new show, even if it only does last 26 episodes, heck I am happy I even got to see 13 new ones you know? It was awesome having the Cats back in action, and the cancellation if true is the fault of a terrible tv network and an incompetent toy company, the show is rad. Here is hoping it isn’t cancelled and if it is, man I hope WB finds it in their hearts to finish the 52 episode block on a different network like the CW or something.
Why would they cancel it though? THe show is getting DECENT RATINGS. Sure Thundercats is as much the toys as the show but did not the first wave of toys do good? That’s what i’ve heard anyway.
I really hope we still get those 52 episodes “we were promised” and i would recommand we just ignore this thread. The more we talk about this and spread the word around the worse it just gets. Getting this idea into peoples head so they spread the “news” around which is in fact just RUMOURS right now.
I dont wanna censur anything but the fact still stands: The more we talk about it “the worse it gets”.

I understand your frastration guys and this is sudden blow.25 years long waiting to end the enthusiasm in less than a year would be the worst case scenario. so i repeat don’t get uptight because NOTHING IS CONFIRMED OR EVEN MENTIONED THAT THE SHOW WILL BE CANCELLED. The unverifed information are alreday running rampant around the globe and this could only result in damamging the franchise.
I just suggested to the TCL Staff,we try to communicate with the Tcats Producers to shed some light on the subject matter. We’ll try to keep the site updated if we learn anything new, till then please refrain from spreading unconfirmed word.Most likely the show will keep running as it is supposed to.
