Once i sign up on Demonoid I will check if they have Propaganda. Sometimes with the public torrents websites it could be hard to get things. Howevre I have heard that with the private torrent website one can find more. Ill give it a try and see what I can come up with over at Demonoid.com if I cant find anything you’re more than welcomed to use the funds that we have on the paypal acct to pay for part of it
Hey guys, I put together a rather terrible test file to see how hard it would be to integrate the podcast with music and after 15 minutes, this is what I got:

I was also able to edit out most of my “uhhs” and “umms” rather easily as well. I know the date is wrong…I just made up any date and I don’t expect to be the host because I sound terrible…it’s all just a test.

Actually I found them in the thundercast directory…there are a bunch of clips from the show…I think Neil made the clips awhile back when he was planning it back in November. I hope it was okay to use one of the clips…I’m thinking Neil will be the host since he already has a layout of how the first episode is going to be organized.

Thinking about this - is there any reason why we can’t record the first episode within, say, the next week - 10 days? After all, if you’re getting the recording software to work, loads of us now have got headsets, the first episode is all scripted, IMO there’s not a lot stopping us!

The only thing I can think of is scheduling conflicts and who has been confirmed for the podcast…I know some are concerned that too many people can make it confusing. Other than that, I think the 30 day trial will allow us to do the recording on Skype and the editing software I’m using now should be okay for a couple of episodes…throw out a date and see what everyone says Chris!

Well, my biggest problem is that I’m truly awful at converting UK time into US time, so I’d need somebody else to help figure out the time of the recording - however, date-wise I personally am very busy this week but am free on Monday 5th March, Tuesday 6th March, and then Thursday 8th March through to Tuesday 13th March inclusive! Whilst things will doubtless come up for those dates, if we can get a recording date figured out I can ink it into my diary and make sure I’m around!

Sorry guys Ive been out of the loop for the past couple of days. I have been without internet for 3 dayys and all the access i have is at work. However the internet came back up late last night and so I hope it stays that way. Either way Im available anytime during the week after 5-5:30 PM ET and anytime in the weekend.
Manny- Does the podcast ediitng softwarehave to be Propaganda otherwise we can use an alternative software. I found several on Demonoid. Ill post what I found tonight

I think the best thing I can do with those clips is rename them, clip 1, clip 2 etc… so we know straight off hand what order to play them in. I think I have the first episode covered like Chris says and am happy to give it a shot at hosting. I don’t know how well it will turn out though because I don’t have the best radio voice. If it doesn’t go to plan though we can always nominate someone else to take over. Another idea would be to have a different host each podcast.
My idea for the 2nd episode would be to review S1V1 DVD set (we can do both R1 and R2 sets in the same podcast!)
As for times, I’d prefer to do it late night when everyone is in bed. So best time for me would be sunday or monday night around 1am UK time. That would be:
ET time: 8pm
PT time: 5pm
How well does that work for everyone else?

So that would be the evening of Monday 5th March at 1:00am (or, in reality, the early morning of Tuesday 6th March at 1:00am) UK time? On paper that should be OK for me, the only thing being I’d have to shoot off soon after the recording session was finished as I imagine it could take about 90 minutes to get the whole thing “in the can” - if that would be OK, I should be able to make that work!

I would say that the first episode could also be an introduction of the team members, at least whoever can attend. If I may suggest we can also invite the other websites like Return to Thundera,EOT.net and any other ones that would like to be part of the podcasts. It would be good to involve the other websites and they can bring their own podcast topics. Just a suggestion to help bring the community together and involved.

That’s a really good suggestion, MannyC, and I’d definitely be in favour of it in principle - I’d love it if Purrsia took part, just because I think it’s a good dynamic to have a female voice involved in the broadcast, and I’d be happy to involve folks from other websites too…
For my $0.02 I’d like to keep it as a TCL-centric project (or, perhaps a project between TCL and our official sister site, i.e. Purrsia’s), purely because we’re the ones who’ve set the project in motion, Manny’s talking about paying money for software, etc., but I would very, very much welcome having special guests and special guest hosts, including folks from EOT.net!
Just to throw a random thought out there, I have no idea if she’d be willing, able, or have the time to be involved, but someone I’d love to have as a special guest on ThunderCast is Kimberly Morris, author of several TCats episodes including the legendary “Telepathy Beam” episode - although it’s a while since she & I spoke, she’s such a charming and gracious lady to talk to, I’m sure she’d be a joy to have on the show!

Podcast Station seems to do both record and edit. The price however is $59.95 but FREE after I download it. Check it out and let me know if it is what you need so I can download it for you. I think Podcast Station is an overall better program and seems to have tons of feature (makes me wonder about the $59.95 price tag). Its the only 2 I could find, the others didnt seem to be too good.

I downloaded that program and it seems pretty good Manny. I was able to make it “free” with a little help from several sites. 
So I was playing around with it for a little bit and it seems pretty straight-forward.
The first file below is an unedited clip that I put together in 15 minutes.

Notice that the ThunderCats clip is louder than my actual recording and that I say “uhh” twice towards the end of the clip.

In the second clip, I lowered the volume of the ThunderCats clip to match my voice recording and that the “uhhs” are no longer heard at the end of the clip.
Again, I’m not the host nor is this going to be the way the podcast intro will start, but I just wanted to see how everything would sound. And I know iGarage for Macs (+1 for Kyle!) are much more suitable for podcasting editing, but hey this will work for now. Oh and
As for when I’m available…unfortunately, it’s not during the times you guys are available. 
I’m only available on the weekends during those particular times. I really don’t mind not being in the podcast, but I’d probably have trouble editing it which means someone else would have to do the editing.
EDIT: I now know how to talk while sound is playing in the background so that’s a plus!

As for the recording of the first episode, I think the best idea would be for everyone to state when they are available over the next fortnight (days and times) If at all possible it might be a good idea to display them in both time zones to make it easier for each other.
Then perhaps we can nail down a day and time when we are all available
For me sundays, mondays and possibly tuesdays are best for me. Times are as I stated earlier in the thread.
I can also make allowances to record the first episode on a saturday late night, but I would only do this for the first episode!

Well, I’m free on Saturdays anytime (no time limit) and Sundays (probably for 3 hours max). Weekdays are tricky though because I know that I’m not online at the times Chris and Neil are so I’m pretty sure that Kyle and Martin are the same as well. Whatever times the most people are available should be when the podcast is recorded though. Hopefully that makes sense.

I definitely think that as far as the timing of the podcast goes, MannyF you should definitely be part of it! I’m not just saying that because you’re the guy with the recording software (;)), but because you were the team member who dreamed this project up in the first place!
As for when I can be available - like I said, I’m very flexible for this coming week, so long as I know in advance. To quote myself:
Time-wise, for those dates I just mentioned, at the present time I can be available to start recording anytime from about 2:00pm - 1:00am UK time. So, there’s some scope to work with there!

Unfortunately, I wont be able to make any of these. For some reason, as of yesterday, my Laptop has lost all sound. I’m not sure why at the moment, but the main computer isn’t in the best place for me to be talking on, as there would be people walking though every five minutes!

That’s a real shame, Martin! Having heard you on “Masterscast”, I thought having a podcast veteran would really enhance things!
