Are the three Mumm-Ra Playful & Glasslite? Is the Panthro Glasslite? I wish there was a way to tell the Playful Mumm-Ra from the Unitoys Mumm-Ra, makes it difficult for the forigin figure completionists

Neat!

I thought the Playful Mummra had red eyes while the Unitoys had black eyes.

The Mumm-Ra’s are UniToys, Playful and Glasslite. Lion-O is UniToys, Panthro is Glasslite, other figures are Playful. The UniToys Mumm-Ra’s eyes are black vs red on the Glasslite version, like adssse said. Also the UniToys one hase some distinctive mold-marks and the overall quality is quite different from it’s Argentinian counterpart. I’ll take comparison pics when I have some time.

Got some Douga’s I had my eye on:

This one is from episode #58 - The Mountain. I already had the Douga’s for the laser-blasts from the 2 cannons so I really wanted this!

Also got this partial, corrective drawing!

This is ofcourse Snarf, but I’m not sure from which episode…

These are from episode #54 - The Transfer. This is for the scene where Lion-O uses the Sword to blast a large rock to sonic-smithereens and Jackalman gets caught in the blast.

The next 2 Douga’s (from a set 6) are of the blast. They are pretty abstract

And my favorite: From episode #1 - Exodus. Unfortunatly there is a tiny hole in it, but nothing is missing. I have it framed, love it!

This is the back of it. Wonder how this happened

Thanks for the clarification on the South American Mumm-ra’s!

Man those Douglas and sketches are incredible! Truly pieces of Thundercats lore.

I don’t think the eyes are different from the Unitoys to LJN…I will have to look again. I don’t have any of my playful stuff unpacked to compare. What tooling marks are being referenced? I have my Unitoys Mumm-Ra right in front of me and I see nothing. Also the Lion-O is cool, he does have a very noticeable tooling mark near his shoulder, even my test shot has the tooling mark

I was more referring to the Playful Vs. Unitoys, being as the feet are stamped the exact same. Glasslite is easy, they are the only ones who’s feet say “Glasslite” on the bottom. There have been a couple of claimed Unitoys Mumm-Ras but without it coming MOC I don’t know how you could prove it. Remember, there are tons of Playful figures around, and only a handful of confirmed Unitoys

:rolleyes:Actually, Glasslite figures dont have any stamps. They ofcourse have those 3 screwholes on the back, but no stamps

Well, like I said, having them both in hand, you can really tell the difference. The paint color, plastic color, the finish, clean-up of the parting lines and sprues. The Unitoys version is also approx. 9.5 grams heavier than the Playful version (131.4 gr.) and the LJN version (131.5gr.) it’s mold is based on. Earlier LJN Mumm-Ra’s are approx. 133 gr.
I’ve been collecting and researching ThunderCats merchandise and figures for more than 20 years, I’m very confident in confirming this to be a UniToys Mumm-Ra

Indeed.

Love the dougas!!! :biggrin You can really see how they do the drawing. The blue lines are used for the rough sketch and the red lines for parts that won’t get Xeroxed and thus will not have black outlines. Outstanding!! :thumbsup

My I ask, what is their size/dimensions?

Wow, thanks for the explanation. I always wondered about the reasoning of the colored lines.
