I felt Pumyra’s character demonstrated more depth and emotional resonance in the 5 minute scene in the cells than Cheetara’s character has shown in 15+ episodes thus far.
Nothing against the fast kitty…she’s just so passive in comparison. And a big tease. And has questionable taste in male cats. I hope they serve up more of the puma!
So from a character importance standpoint in comparison with the old series Pumyra is the new Cheetara and Cheetara is the new Pumyra?

Cheetara has excellent taste in male cats.
I agree about the rest though (cept the tease part), and it’s a shame. Great for Pumyra, but sad for Cheetara. I like little Cheetara more than I like big Cheetara, yet the little version got like 6 minuets of screen time.
Although Pumyra made her debut this week, I like her character and desogn. Pumyra is, dare I say it, much more attractive than Cheetara in this series.
I’d like to think that she’ll be helping the others after they free the slaves in the mines of Mount Plun-Darr.
I’m also certain that we’ll see Lynx-O, next week. It makes sense to me. ”The Forever Bag” will just be a followup on the twins trying to catch Tookit.
Wait are we turning this into a list of reason why Pumyra is sooo much better than Cheetara?

Oh well, I’m anxious as hell to see how this next episode plays out. It’ll be full steam a head to relieve those other cats, so it’ll probably go really fast. I wonder if Pumyra left anyone dear to her on that mountain? I have a theory that someone close to her died during the aftermath, but even so, she could still have someone up there waiting on her.
I thought it was pretty much confirmed that she lost someone close to her either in the mines or in the Pit seeing as how that’s that part in her speech where she starts to tear up. She even believed in him herself at ones point, but I’m assuming her faith was broken when her loved one died.
Yea, it’s been all but said. Seeing as we are going to run into more cats, I’m waiting to see if any of them have any ties with Pumyra. Maybe a best friend or a sibling. Also what are the freed cats going to do?
The fact that Pamela Adlon is voicing Pumyra gives me enough reason to like the character.

It’s amazing how much we got to learn about her in a single episode, and yet there are a ton of questions unanswered, and the best part is you want to know more about her and her story. It’s really hard to sell people on a new character with only one episode, and yet I think they’ve managed to do it. I made a comparison between Pumyra and the Sixth Power Ranger in another thread and I stand by that.

Eh, It’s still early so fine. Just no more triangles…That’s so predictable though.
Here’s to hoping she retains some of that fire! IMO, to write good character, you have to make them relatable and dynamic. Keep them consistent, but give them more than just one beat. It was easy to make a connection with Pumyra, because I could relate to her. It’s hard having someone you look up to let you down, and it’s twice as difficult as it was hard, to forgive them.I like despite all of her anger and sadness, she was eventually able to see that Lion-O does care about the fate of the cats.
I love Pumyra’s new character, definitely not how I would’ve pictured her in the new series, but a lot better than what I had in mind Very cool new weapons, and I love her voice acting. Also it’s interesting to see that aside from her hot tempered nature and redesigns, she still retains her three defining aspects from the original series: acrobatics, marksmanship, and medical expertise. Definitely a fan of Pumyra here!
the word that was actually used in Michael Jelenic’s interview was “several”
so we don’t really know.
What a coincidence, we just happen to have “several” episodes left until the season finishes. =D

I wish it was that way, after seeing Pumyra in the new series. I think she’s a far more interesting study. But I sense there’s some lingering OS hierarchy going on and Cheetara will remain the lead female in terms of screen time.
I’ll trade seven great ones for a lot of brief cameos. 
When they showed Pumyra for the first time, and then zoomed in on Lion-O’s eyes growing bigger.. that’s love interest writing 101 right there. I didn’t like what they did with her personality though. Think about it, in the OS she was the least showed character of the new-comers, yet the most popular, as basically just a cute relaxed young thing (as far as I remember). Now she looks older and, well, just behaved like a b!tch all the time.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am fine with a female character like that , but it’s just disappointing from a comparison of how she used to be and what made her so appealing - as in, introduce a new persona if you want someone to be like that, leave Pumyra as she was if you put her back in the show!
She had good reason to be angry. Lion-O did not intentionally hurt her, but she was left to fight in an arena day in and day out as entertainment. If you watch closely, she has tears in her eyes as she talks about waiting for Lion-O to come save the cats from their torment. She obviously feels like he didn’t care, and as a result she had to live through hell waiting on him. Now that she’s given up on him and has almost earned her own freedom, he shows up to save her. You don’t see why she’s angry? It’s not directly his fault, but citizens expect their government to protect and serve them.
We’re talking about 2 different things here, you’re talking about her inside the story, I am talking about the writers making sure the story allows the situation for Pumyra to be like she was.
But even if I look at the situation of her being in the arena in dog-ville, her reaction just seems off. They are the last survivors of their race banding together trying to make it work, and she is acting like there is some background of Lion-o or Tygra or any of their now-dead relatives left her to rot there, but there is nothing to suggest this at all, in reality they just found out about her being there now!
