Has anyone seen or heard anything about Lynx-O, Bengali, or Pumyra in this new series?
I was just thinking on my drive home from work, I think they should make Bengali and Pumyra teenagers in this version. I think they should leave Lynx-O alone. But with them turning the Kittens from pre-teens to children, I think it would make an interesting dynamic to make Bengali and Pumyra pre-teens. I can see Bengali being a rebellious, moody teenager.
They said they’re in the show at Wondercon. No word on any details. I’d want them to be around Lion-O or Tygra’s age. There’s no reason to have the team full of children.
I’d rather have at them be around Lion-O’s age; older than Kit and Kat but younger than the rest, except for Lynx-O. Part of his character is the fact that he’s old and wise. I would want Pumyra to be a little older than Bengali, who I think could be around 15. He would be the most hot headed, more so than even Lion-O.
And if Pymyra is Lion-O’s age that might give him a love interest in the second season when Tygra wins Cheetara. lol
At least I hope Tygra ends up with Cheetara. lol
That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. From what I’ve read in the interviews, it seems like Lion-O isn’t going to “win” Cheetara’s affection. Besides, since Tygra’s not getting to be Lord of the Thundercats, they can at least give him that. Wily Kit is too young, even if they did a time skip of a few years she’d still be a teenager when Lion-O’s in his 20’s..
So yes, I’m hoping Pumyra can be Lion-O’s second love interest, but I hope that’s not all she ends up being. Pumyra should be as developed as the rest.
What I’m fearing is that all they get is a short cameo, like seeing the three of them in a crowd of Thunderians and leaving it like that. It wouldn’t do the characters justice. I’m really hoping the producers aren’t in the camp of people who didn’t like the three newbies. I see them get a lot of flak on the internet for seemingly taking focus away from the others.
So, I’m guessing that they show up in the second half of season 1? I would have had them show up in season 2, but if season 2 isn’t greenlit yet, I guess it’s a good idea to get them in while they can.
Hmm… a Ty-tara pairing would be quite interesting if anything else. I am curious about Lynx-O to be perfectly honest. I am hoping that when and if he makes his debut in the new series that he is still blind. I related to him the most when I was a kid because I am legally blind -There aren’t that many blind/vision-impaired characters that have such a strong character to them. They’re either old and feeble, clumsy and stupid, or incapable and to me, that’s not really fair towards the blind/vision-impaired community. Who is to say that all blind people live sheltered lives?? Who is to say that being blind means you’re either mentally incapable or are clumsy and unintelligent?? Not me, no sir. We need more blind badasses in the world.
I think I’d like them to just be reoccurring characters. Not part of the main group every episode, but where they would show up more than once or twice to help out. Maybe they can be on their own mission that intercepts with The main group’s quest on occasion.

That might be best. I was thinking, maybe Bengali should be a noble, and Pumyra and Lynx-O can be commoners. Wasn’t it Bengali’s clan the one that forged the Sword of Omens? It would make sense, and he could start out kind of bratty since he has to taken care of by the other two.
I would actually kind of like it if Pumyra had a tail in this iteration. Not fluffy like the Kittens, but long and thin.
Bengali’s clan only created the sword in the wildstorm comics. And my opinion of those aren’t very high and they’re definitely not cannon.
But yeah Pumyra would work with a tail. She almost looked like she had one anyway with her sling wrapped around her in the original.
Do we know how old Tygra and Lion-O actually are in this new series?
Is Lion-O hot-headed? I didn’t get that impression from what I’d seen. He strikes me as being very cool headed. He and Tygra both. But a teenage, hot-headed, angry, rebellious Bengali could add an interesting dynamic. From what I’ve read, it sounds to me that Tygra probably would be that way but he’s learned to control his temper, but it perhaps boils under the surface. If they meet Bengali who hasn’t learned that control, it could be a growing experience for Tygra to help Bengali in that way. Just a thought.
How old is Lion-O again? He strikes me as maybe being a teenager.
I didn’t get the impression that Lion-O wasn’t going to end up with Cheetara. I think the interviews leave that as a mystery that no one knows. Maybe Cheetara will meet a tragic end and neither guy will get her but her death will bring the brothers closer together and strengthen their relationship. It could happen.
I hope she is better developed than she was in the OS. She seemed like a pretty flat character back then.
I would be surprised if they did that.
I think there was a super-hero movie out awhile back where the super-hero was blind. And at the moment, the name of it is escaping me. Usually when I see blind people in tv shows and stuff, they are very able. At least that’s been my experience. 
Not sure how I feel about that. In the OS they seemed to take time away from the beloved characters. If they’re in, I want them in all the way and not taking away time from us seeing the others, especially Tygra who they happily left out too much in the OS.
I like it, although I think Bengali needs to look a little younger.

I think Pumyra could be younger than Bengali, maybe she could be a teen, and find in Cheetara a mother figure, while Bengali could be Lion-O’s age, and then rivalize with him for Pumyra (once Tygra wins Cheetara lol). I like the idea of her getting a long, thin, elegant tail with a black tip at the end of it.
About Lynx-O, I think he might be a wise hermit who knows a lot of the secrets of Thundera, kind of like the oracle of Delphos; or he might be an old apprenctice of Jaga.
I still want an ocelot to be introduced, and no Jagara please.
Don’t think you can have it both ways dude. If they’re in all the way they’re absolutely going to end up taking time away from other characters. There’s only so much you can do in a half hour show.

I was thinking more in lines to how Tygra was scarcely ever seen. They can involve the characters without making any of the others completely disappear for several episodes at a time. Jus’ sayin.’
Agree. Don’t remind me how unfair they were to Tygra after the new characters were introduced. It still makes me mad.
Dudette? sorry meant no offense. It’s hard to remember specific genders. 
Anyway what I meant was that groups can be hard to write. And the bigger the group the harder it is to make sure no one gets lost in the spotlight. As it is there are already going to be 6 main characters. they said the villains are getting their own stories too, so that’s Mumm-Ra, Slithe, Monkian, Jackalman, Vultureman, and Grune. And that brings us to 12 characters they’re paying attention to. then there’s the three “other” thundercats which makes 15. And THEN there are the other “iconic” characters that may or may not show up. Unless they’re very, very careful the Jenga tower of characters could topple over. And I don’t want that to happen.
I’d like them to show up. Pay homage to them. maybe 3 or 4 times a season. but not make the mistakes the old show did, like you said, and try juggling so many characters they forget about the More important ones.
The writers said they have the beggining and middle planned out. So this guys could already be pinned down to appear in an specific part of the preplanned stories.
Probly Season 2 onwards. I don’t want to see them yet. Maybe hints, but nothing more, please. I want to see the other guys get fleshed out.
They’re presenting us a very vast world. There’s many things they could try with them. So here’s hope they don’t mess it up. This is probly the only aspect of the entire series that has me in doubt.
How many story arcs can you get it can’t be endless. We already got the Kit/Kat story, the love triangle, the mummra/thundercats history and last thursday it was confirmed that the 4 mutants all have their own story arc too + Grune playing a big role.
So I think there are 2 options
2)It’s also possible that the Tower of Omens is already out there and that Lynx’o is the boss there. If it’s like that I reckon pumyra and Bengali are already older than lyon’o cheetara and tygra.
Either way, Third Earth is going to be just as mystical as it was in the original series. I’m looking forward to seeing the story-archs unfold in the series. WilyKat and Kit’s origins and why they are orphans. Traditionally, when you think of orphaned children, you think of their parents being deceased. While it’s implied that their parents are deceased, something tells me that this isn’t the case with WilyKat and Kit. If any indication, the dark, mature tone this show is going to have, I’m pretty sure their parents abandoned them. It’s quite possible and real. Think about it: Two negligent Thunderians who brought two unwanted children into Thundera (or Third Earth) and just leave them to grow out like weeds because they didn’t want to support their offspring. Terrible, yes, but I imagine it that way. The other possibility is that their parents were killed by the mutants, when they took over Thundera.
It looked to me like they’re already orphans before the mutant attack. At the very least they’re living on their own. I don’t want to think they’re runaways. Cause that might put the wrong ideas in the kids who are watching’s heads. So I’m thinking their parents are most likely dead already.
Not really..there’s tons of children’s movies that have kids as runaways. I recall being heavily influenced by this aspect of The Land Before Time II as a child, and I turned out okay. 
I like the theory of them pretty much being abandoned. It’s the most realistic, and it’s about damn time cartoons stop sugar coating things, and this one has been said to be goind in that non sugar coating direction.
Simple. New story arcs can be developed involving those characters. Cues could be taken from the Bengali Clan’s apparent connection to the creation of the Sword in the Wildstorm comics and how Lynx-O has overcomed blindness. God knows what else from the already established material can be taken from, let alone what can be mixed up with the new material. I say, the possibilities really are endless.
