The Wood Forgers actually started to remind me of Ninja from Naruto. Each has a specialty form.
I too was curious When they left the Thunder Tank behind.
I also got the Great owl Vibe from the giant Bird. all he needed was some cobwebs hanging from his wings.
I agree as well that the end scene was a bit anti Climatic. It was the same thing we saw before with the exception that after we see the stone on the wall the wall then fades away.
Finally it was the predictability of the Episode that I think threw me off with the Timing as I was not really surprised by anything.
Oh well I am starting to really get the feeling that this series is going to be best viewed in a DVD set One Episode after another.

What episode was that in? I don’t remember an owl librarian. I don’t actually remember them venturing to a library either come to think of it. I’m guessing it would have been during the time of Book 2? Sounds like an Earth Kingdom locale.
Yes, it was the middle of Book 2, called “The Library.” Viragor and Wan Shi Tong (the names of the giant birds in ThunderCats and Avatar, respectively) are in fact voiced by the same person.
Avatar has to be one of the best animated series next to ThunderCats, of course. My favorite episode was “The Puppetmaster”, that old lady kinda creeps me out still to this day lol
It’s interesting because the cartoon was geared towards kids but that episode had a very mature theme to it that surprised me when I watched it. That episode might be the darkest one they ever made.
I definitely agree with you. So I think re-watching it will be really enjoyable. I enjoyed this episode very much…except the ending. I wanted more there.
And wow Tygra takes some hard hits. Like, I was surprised when he got back up after being tossed like that. :eek: BUT MOST OF ALL…CHARACTERS!! Lion-O attempting some diplomacy,others getting lines and actions (Wileys were cute), bros relationship- yay!
Those were really hard hits and it bothered me that he got up no problem. It’s like in Journey to the Tower of Omens when Mumm-Ra’s ray slammed Cheetara against the wall. It’s like nothing can hurt these guys unless they need to be killed off like Claudus.
I forget what it was, but yes, there was a little more. Last episode was just the stone, then the stone and the hut. This episode had the stone, the hut, and then it started to go to something else.
Maybe they cut away so that the audience couldn’t see it, but Lion-O did? Or maybe it was so fast I missed the next part.
And you know, that makes me think, if Pumyra is still going to be a healer; someone is going to take some really nasty hits (the pattern seems to point to Tygra, or maybe it’s the fangirl glasses) to necessitate her skills. Maybe once Mumm-Ra comes back he beats the absolute tar out of someone (the Tcats and Mumm-Ra arrive at the same time, but he is distracted enough for Lion-O to get the stone, and Mumm-Ra takes it out on the poor soul in his way), and somehow bamf! Pumyra. I dunno.
Also, I really liked the bros interaction this ep. If the triangle continues to go this route, I think it could turn out well. At the very least the bros acknowledge it, and yeah it is a part of their competitiveness- although Lion-O’s comment “may the best cat win” really rubbed me the wrong way. It’s not about being the best; it’s about who CHEETARA chooses. He has so very much to learn.
That got to me too. Like wth, its not a competition.
I loved this episode! It was animated beautifully. Favorite part had to be the fight at the end, though Cheetara’s first fight comes in as a close 2nd.
Great twist! I was surprised to see that the paper people were the real villains of the story.
I loved Lion-O this time around!
My only complaint was the ‘may the best cat win’ thing. Im still trying to see if I could interpret it as something else. I would hope he wouldn’t intentionally turn Cheetara into a competition. Eh, Tygra looked a bit startled by it, so maybe he too doesn’t like the sound of it.
I liked that he acknowledged that Cheetara does believe in Lion-O. There was something about it that made me go aww. We all know he likes her, so it had to sting a bit but it was grown up of him to admit it.
I thought this episode was a lot easier to watch than last weeks and i think that’s down to the annoying elephants not being involved!
I do have one gripe though, in the OS Panthro was by far my favorite Thundercat, but in this series he seems a bit wishy washy. I mean he was supposed to Claudas’ general but the only time we have seen him fight properly is in the flash backs with Grune, i wanna see him destroy someone/something!
one of the reasons I think Tygra will end up with Cheetara because just like ya’ll said Lion-O is being really jealous and treating it like a competition (and like or not that does happen irl) but Tygra is playing it cool so far. He’s not reacting the same way as Lion-O and I think she will respond to that more favorably.
Okay, the Sword won’t work against evil… so Claudus has been right about the Lizards all along? You’d think a jerk like him would have been complaining about the Sword going inert “unpredictably” or something like that.
from what I’ve seen I think that’s because the lizards were always the attackers. you only ever see Claudus defending Thundera. so in that light the lizards aren’t being good. just like with the wood forgers the ends doesn’t justify the means.
Yeah I could tell the origami dudes (and one dudette) er…Wood Forgers were gonna be the bad guys. Just something about the leader guy and his tone of voice and stuff.

I was very happy with how the characters were handled, and the other characters actually had a few minutes to shine! I love Lion-O, don’t get me wrong, but it is nice to see the spotlight on someone else, even if it is only for a couple minutes.
Overall, I was impressed by this ep, despite having my 3 year old cousin asking me a million questions as we were watching this and trying to get her to sleep. I thought it was gonna be a “bleh” episode, but it ended up really impressing me. Characterization, action, etc was good.
They just had to mention the love triangle though…ugh. I actually feel sorry for Cheetara at times–having men fighting over her. I realize Tygra and Lion-O are bros and are going to fight over everything because that’s what brothers do…but still.
Agree wholeheartedly, Lion-O’s line about taking care of the situation (sorting it out) and best cat winning really suggests he has a lot to learn. If Tygra continues to let things play out with a sense of maturity I’m thinking Cheetara is going to start noticing the tiger in a different way leaving Lion-O to wonder ‘what just happened?’.
