Amen, brother. The Drifter’s characterization, design, and demeanor was absolutely brilliant. Given his patch-work clothes, hat, southern accent, and the aforementioned traits, all he needed was a guitar with silver strings! (I swear the writer of this episode was paying a tribute to Manly Wade Wellman’s “Silver John” character!)
As much as I loved the drifter and hope to c him again in the future…it did kinda annoy me how he inexplicably floated around like he weighed no more than a feather! I know the writers have an artistic icence to be creative, and they’ve done well there, but I’m a physicist n look for explanations of how things work

That’s one of the things I’ve always liked about Thundercats. The sheer unpredictability of what you might see. With the blend of magic and tech you could see a space ship or a robot in one episode and a wizard or unicorn in the next. You could almost throw whatever kind of character you want into the show and it would fit.
Or you could see a robot unicorn running through the canyon, gathering faeries and dashing through starstones

Loved this episode. Second best after Song of the Petalars. A really solid story, quite beautiful. And I don’t use that word too often.

Yeah, I know. I watched a YouTube video after your referenced it to my photoshopping butterflies coming out of Mumm-Ra’s mouth and was just thinking it didn’t look like a robot. It looked like Starlight from Rainbow Brite.
