The Duelist and the Drifter- hachiman? *Possible Spoilers*

The upcoming episode is titled “The duelist and the drifter”. Now, many of us know, from the preview materials on various sites, that the duelist is a new villian called the duelist, who steals swords from opponents he believes worthy.

But as to “The Drifter”… seeing how the plot of the episode seems to be swords and swordsmen, does anyone think the drifter might be Hachiman, the Original series’s resident Samurai, with the duelist trying to steal both thundercutter and the Sword of Omens? Just an idea I had.

I mentioned this yesterday in the New Episode Titles thread. I think it would be awesome if Hachiman is the one, but there has been no other human characters thus far so it may feel a little disjointed

Personally, I hope it is him. He and mandora were my two favorie characters in the show, after the cats.

As for no humans so far, I really hope the crew hasn’t instituted some stupid “No humans” rule to make the show more"grounded" or some such nonsense. Still, I have faith in the writers.

I think the Drifter is the dog-like character in the Thunder Thursdays artwork who has a massive sword the same size as his body strapped to his back.

Yes please, I like the look of that character. I didn’t even think of that.

I do agree with Omen_reader in the hopes there is no “No Humans” rule. I don’t think there is because Mandora has already been mentioned as appearing in this series and unless she gets a huge redesign, she will be human looking.

Hachiman being included would get a major thumbs up from me! He was definitely my favorite Thundercats ally.

I’d prefer Hachiman. Although… is it possible that they might reinvent him for this series as an anthro character rather than a human type, if they don’t want humans in the series?

Also, I didn’t see the pic of the Drifter, but could he be a homage to the Demolisher?

They’ve never said there are going to be no humans in the series. IMO there are too many “iconic” human characters for them not to.

I really never liked Hachiman, so I wouldn’t mind if it’s not him.

I’m looking for th warrior maidens though.

I think it’s entirely possible the Drifter could be Hachiman. But I don’t think he’s the Duelist.

My theory of this episode (though it could very easily be wrong) Is that we first see the Duelist fighting Hachiman for the Thundercutter and Hachiman looses. Either from the Duelist cheating or from just being bested. Then the Duelist hears about the Sword of Omens, goes to find it. And maybe Hachiman tries to find Lion-O first to warn him and get help to reclaim the Thundercutter. Hachiman would be a man of honor though, of course, so I’m leaning more towards the Duelist having cheated because otherwise his honor would demand that since he lost fairly the Duelist would keep the Thundercutter.

Of course that’s just a theory solely based on the title and the short synopsis we’ve been given.

I don’t about the possibility of Hachiman appearing in the next episode.

But I think it’s almost a given he’s going to be introduced. Why make a Katana Sword themed Village otherwise? Ya know, the village from the art revealed in Thunder Thursdays.

Don’t necessarily think this is true, but it could possibly be the home of the Duelist. And that gate could be what he does with all the swords that he wins.

After seeing their origin story, I’m guessing humans are in fact a good possibility on this show after all. He was one of my favorite supporting characters on the show (along with Snowman and Snowmeow).
