They’ve never said there are going to be no humans in the series. IMO there are too many “iconic” human characters for them not to.

Maybe you could ask them on their blog, I think that’s what it is, right?

I really never liked Hachiman, so I wouldn’t mind if it’s not him.

I’m looking for th warrior maidens though.

I think it’s entirely possible the Drifter could be Hachiman. But I don’t think he’s the Duelist.

My theory of this episode (though it could very easily be wrong) Is that we first see the Duelist fighting Hachiman for the Thundercutter and Hachiman looses. Either from the Duelist cheating or from just being bested. Then the Duelist hears about the Sword of Omens, goes to find it. And maybe Hachiman tries to find Lion-O first to warn him and get help to reclaim the Thundercutter. Hachiman would be a man of honor though, of course, so I’m leaning more towards the Duelist having cheated because otherwise his honor would demand that since he lost fairly the Duelist would keep the Thundercutter.

So maybe the duelist is the dog-like creature and the drifter is Hachiman? Possibly. Hachiman was basically a drifter in the OS.

Yeah it was just a few stills of concept art. The picture of the swordsman was just a silhouette.

Would make sense if it was Hachiman. Why introuce a new character that bears similarities to an old favourite but isn’t. But the same thing occurred in the Ramlak episode, where we got treated to a whole new race of pirates (instead of beserkers).

By the way, this isn’t a rant or slur on the new series and writers as I’m loving it all so far! Just an observation

Someone named the Duelist who may be a dog based character…sounds an aweful lot like the ‘Demolisher’ to me from the OS (one of my fave bad guys) but clearly instead of pointless fighting for glory, he’s after powerful swords as trophies or just to own weapons of power.

Drifter…yeah possibly Hachiman (not bothered if it ain’t, didn’t think he belonged in the TCats Universe TBH).

If the Duelist is a dog based Char. however I hope it aint got the design of the dog with the large sword (as that char looks rubbish IMO!).

Everyone’s thinking Hachiman because he’s the most well known Swordsman in the OS (besides Lion-O) and this episode is confirmed to be about a swordsman. Tell you one thing, I’m ready to see our weekly previews! lol

The upcoming episode is titled “The duelist and the drifter”. Now, many of us know, from the preview materials on various sites, that the duelist is a new villian called the duelist, who steals swords from opponents he believes worthy.

But as to “The Drifter”… seeing how the plot of the episode seems to be swords and swordsmen, does anyone think the drifter might be Hachiman, the Original series’s resident Samurai, with the duelist trying to steal both thundercutter and the Sword of Omens? Just an idea I had.

I was thinking this episode might be where Hachiman appears for the first time. Or it could be that Hachiman is the duelist that steals the swords. We’ll have to wait and see.
