I did see your coverage over at thundercats.ws but I lurk even worse over there than here. Thanks for the pics and the coverage. I’m still not sure what I think of the thunderkittens but otherwise, I’m getting excited to see the show.
Yeah, it was kind of awesome. I was surprised because I always felt like I was the only fan of theirs. I don’t think anyone expected them to be as adorable as they are.
I never thought they were “cute” in the original. They always seemed mischievous tho. Hope they still keep their roguish ways.
From what I gather from the interviews and stuff the “species” of cats the Kittens are from are like a lesser class than other Thunderians. And in some of those pics they seem like impoverished orphans instead of Nobles like the rest.
That’s the jist of what he said when I asked about the tails. He didn’t reference the kittens directly like that I don’t think, but I’m pretty sure that it was implied. I’m thinking after the attack on thundera, the kittens end up getting involved with the main cast.
And I think Wilykit was one of the best character designs of the OT, (I seriously love her outfit and hair to a ridiculous degree.) but I wouldn’t call either of the cute like they are now.
LOL, I think it’s the mom in me that finds them adorable because I am a mother of young children (8 & 9 yrs old) and that makes me want to hug them and give them cookies or other goodies. I loved that one pic of them laughing at the table, very child-like. I know this new show is supposed to be serious but it’s also nice to see there is also going to be a gentler side despite the drama of the lost of Thundera. However I’m still confused…is this kingdom of Thundera that is on Third Earth from refugees from another planet or did all Thunderians come from Third Earth to begin with? Such as evolution from four-legged cats?
I think what is going to be hard, if I get the comments and trailers right, seeing that kingdom on Third Earth being destroyed. It’s one thing for nature to destroy a planet and cause many casualties, but to see casualties on a planet caused by bad guys, that’s going to be hard to watch.
Ironically, I loved the dark approach to the Wildstorm comics, because, yeah many died when Mumm-ra defeated New Thundera but you all saw that the majority of the new refugees survived. Granted this is a completely new show and I’m starting to change my mind of a Thundera completely based on Third Earth…at first I was a bit peeved at it, but it’s slowly starting to grow on me.
I do know they can’t take off where the old series left off because it would completely confuse the new generation of Tcat fans…I don’t know where to look but some member here made the point that it can’t be a continuation because the new members would be completely confused and when I read that, it made perfect sense so that changed my mind on Thundera being on Third Earth. So I can understand now To be honest, that never dawned on me until whoever said it, said it.
To me this whole Thundera being destroyed either as a seperate planet or the Kingdom in Third Earth being annihilated by Mutant forces it’s two sides of the same coin. If you think about it, it takes you back to square one, there will be no Thunderians left other than the Nobles, which is practically the same scenario told by different perspective. When i first heard about this ‘planet’ inside a ‘planet’ thing i suggested it’s going to be a whole new ball game but given the latest news it won’t be so.
I am not implying it’s bad, it will lay emphasis on the tragedies and brutalities of war much more blatantly than in the original
I think what makes the difference is in the trailers, you see regular Thunderians, cheering during some kind of tournament. In the old series, you never see them, just their ships being destroyed. You never see their faces.
Then again, I’m a girl LOL We are naturally programmed to nurture and worry.
