SDCC Exclusive Figure

Working in marketing myself, it’s a very clever idea from Matty to put up those pictures of the box and what it can do. To be honest, unless I get myself a cats lair, the box MIGHT be used as a backdrop for me for the new line. But in most collector’s cases, they won’t even open the box, or they’ll open it and then put the figures back. So it’s just a case of “oooh, that looks nifty, I want that” that turns into a case of “oh now that I have it, its cool, but I won’t use it because its not necessary”. In my case, I fell for the look of the box and what it can do, but actually using it for that is probably not what I’ll be doing it. LOL. Strategy fellow cats, that’s all it is.

You know if you wanted a large Cats Lair (or any Third Earth / Thundarian scene) for a back drop for your figures I could help you out .

I wish I picked up the Icon Heroes Cat’s Lair when I had the chance. They were selling for $70-90 for the longest time. Now, they are $300 on ebay :frowning:

It would have been a nice backdrop for this line.

The diorama that I want to have is the one from the SDCC Transformers Dinobots set with Pop-Up Headquarters

Nice base…shame about the robots. No Bayformers. Needs G1/2, Beast Wars, Armada or Classics/Generations figures.

I’m quite sure that if the Thunderkittens are later sold on Matty, they will be the exact same set sold at the convention. Had Mattel had plans to release 2 different sets they would have said so just like they had done in previous years

I blame the supposed “Brandon talking to Scott Neitlich at Power-Con” and the fact that Mattel keeps so quiet for most of the negativity hype around the line. We should just be patient and see what SDCC brings. Sure the answers will come to those who wait … problem being most of us are so hyped about the line that being patient is VERY HARD!! :00

Then there is the whole Super7 thing going on as well.

Yeah those Dinobots Bay movie are NOTHING close to the originals.
I would like to have that Pop-Up Diorama with the original G1 Dinobots or with G1 Autobots.
I’m trying to hunt that Diorama by itself without the Dinobots that comes with it.

Those Super 7 figures are distasteful…

I think he ment that Super7 is opening a temporary store, like they did last year. which was pretty awesome. They make many different types and styles of figures.

I meant that the Thundercats will be sold at the Super7 booth.

Have this been confirmed ?

I like them! If you are referring to the MOTU ones. I know thery look weird and skinny, but together with the packaging the look like real 80’s figures !!! Love it!!

Nope, this is what is confusing people.

They along with the Funko Reaction figures are supposed to look like they were made in the early 80’s like the old Star Wars and other 3.75" figures.
I wish someone would make a Thundarr the Barbarian set. I would buy them.

I finally got me a set of the twins. Scalpers celebrate the victory because you got $39 more for the twins from me! Super happy that I secured them - postage was only $33, which is great! Thanks ninja cat for being willing to help me get my hands on the twins.

Hmmmm rather disappointing… I mean Thundercats is a brand new line that I am assuming they invested a great deal of money in. I am of course a huge Thundercats fan and biased, but I would have thought Mattel would be really publicizing/pushing this new line.
