Perhaps that’s why I have 2 kidneys One for the twins and the other one to do the job both were made for.
Shipping isn’t really expensive - I’ve bought a lot from the US before (also through ebay) and it was not much more than $35. Sometimes even cheaper!

well, yeah…I have shipped over seas and it has been in the $30-$40 for shipping. IMO, thats insanely high.

You know what, whatever! No one can argue with you… you always have an answer for everything! I proved my point that there were differences in the past, take it or leave it! I really hope they come exactly the same, but I am not holding my breath! With Mattel you never know what they have up their sleeve in anyway!

I made you mad? I’m sorry (seriously). I was just discussing (from my point of view) why I dont think that Matty will produce a separate version for after SDCC. You may be wrong, I may be wrong. I was merely point out facts, just like you. I’m not saying that you’re wrong, just that, IMO, it doesn’t seem plausible.

I’m not mad, I just feel that even with proof of actual examples you still couldn’t see my point. The fact is it happend before (a couple of times) so it can happen again … Anyway lets wait and see, maybe they surprise us!

But the point Ninja was saying was that if there was something exclusive or an incentive for picking up at SDCC vs. getting it from their after sale - it would have been stated in the initial description for the sale of the twins.

Way too much anxiety. I just bought a pre-sale for around $90 from ebay. I really want the hover boards. I hope Matty doesn’t do something random and pack in snarf for the sale after the Con.

Lastly, I’ve emailed BBTS. A representative stated:

"Thank you for contacting us and I will be happy to help. In regards to the SDCC listings or convention products in general, we will publish any available items on our website as soon as possible or when they are offered to us. Unfortunately, there is not a specified list of items, or time that items are published as we are constantly putting up new merchandise throughout the day on a regular basis.

I am hopeful that you are able to acquire the piece(s) for your collection that you are looking for and please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Have a great day!"

You don’t have to worry about anything being added extra to the set for the aftersale. If there was to be anything added extra it be for the set sold at the con itself - and since it has been established thats not the case, yer all good.

Its been discussed here before. The reason they went with the Twins for SDCC is because they needed the extra budget allotted to the SDCC item in order to do them properly (Sculpts, Tooling, Accessories).

i just hope the matty version comes with the hover boards . it would be pretty harsh to do a version without the boards but it’s all a guessing game at the moment .

If the figures go up for sale after the Con it will be the same version as the ones at the con. And everyone who keeps saying oh they will go up after the con at some point down the line and they won’t have the boards and blah blah blah - that isn’t a guarantee. King Grayskull was the first MOTU SDCC exclusive in 2008 and it was 2 years later before the redeco came out. And at that time MOTU was in its prime.

As far as I know nothing have been said about the after sdcc sale by matty, so we dont even know if there will be a difference or not. As far as I recall we only hear about differences when the after sale item is announced. So as confident as you are, Im still not convinced it will be the same, but we wont know until the aftersale is announced. Let see what happens.

I’m pretty confident that we will get an after con sale for the Thunderkittens. If there is a difference between the con versions and the site sale I would think that an accessory other than the boards will be the con bonus. Maybe the exploded smoke bombs would be the con exclusive? The boards are a must have with the kittens, more of an extension of them than an accessory.

Thank you. It was originally $99 but ended up being $88 with 15% cash back via ebates. Yeah, I’m from the U.S.
BBTS is flexible with shipping, but they weren’t always this way.
I would have probably checked BBTS everyday to see if they updated the preorder section.
Best of luck with Matty. I hope they are generous, as a lot of folks decision to resub for 2017 is dependent on this set!

Regarding the Kittens box and packaging…

Is it supposed to open up into a Cat’s Lair diorama?

what we have seen from the pictures the packaging does open up as a diorama .

To be honest I don’t think the regular release after SDCC will come with the diorama.

Perhaps, but I like the look of it. I’m not willing to take the chance and miss out on the “what if Matty sells them after the con”. They might, and then, yet again, scalpers will be selling them for crazy. The lucky few who might get them will be in the minority I fear. So I’m grabbing mine now, with the help of a fellow board member
