Well, if you think that Lion-o will evolve and grow up over the next episodes assuming the responsible role of Lord of the Thundercats even more seriously than before, we could say it isn’t bad that he wound up with the frolics and flirts early on. I am not so much in favor of a Lion-O/Pumyra romance either.Unless there is a great scenario backing it up, but i think it is kind of difficult.
Well, over the last few episodes we aren’t seeing so much of Cheetara, since Tygra and Lion-O are in the limelight. I’d like to see more of her past and cleric participation too.

Well, i think the NS so far is sailing totally on uncharted waters! I haven’t found many common points, the general concept might be the same but the implementation is completely different.
1.Lion-O wasn’t brother with Tygra on the original, neither did they have any family relation.
2)Panthro was a mechanic but Cheetara wasn’t a cleric.Also, Tygra was an architect(he had made the designs for the Cat’s lair).
3)There is no mention in the Original of the twin siblings being orphans
4)Well, that was a great addition, Kaynar and Addicus are great names!
Well in the EXODUS episode they appear to be a bit older than the young Lion-O.We have no mentioning or record of their parents in Third Earth, so yes there is a possibility they were orphans. A main difference to the NS is that they kittens are portrayed now younger in age and both street urchins, more like the mischievous youngsters who are notorious pickpockets aspiring to get rich in the town of El Dara.This fits the description of the orphan kind of type who have a hard time finding their place in the society;)
The original Tea,(Cheetara.Tygra, Lion-O,Kittens,Panthro) were all called ‘Nobles’ by the new Thundercats(Bengali, Pumyra, Lynx-o)
All we can be sure about is that the OS twins became orphans after Thundera was destroyed (duh) and that the new ones definitely are orphans (another duh).
I believe orphan only applies to children. Lion-O wasn’t an orphan in the OS because his father was still alive until he was older. The rest besides the twins were adults.
Guys, I think that is one prime example of the differences between the OS and NS. The OS did have glaring plot holes like why two children were travelling with a bunch of adults and an old man without any explanation,(everyone would get arrested and put on a list for that now!) or the fact that there were nobles and commoners and that was it. The kittens were probably originally put in just because they wanted kid characters for a kids cartoon, it was the norm. There was no real explanation or back story. That is something that I think the NS is doing really well. It is attempting to make this world ‘realistic’, with a real logic and story behind it. I think that is also partly due to a sign of the times. People would not accept the OS as it was as readily now as they did in the 80s, they’d ask why a lot more for a start, they wouldn’t accept the plot device of the sword being able to do whatever Liono wanted it to do, etc, times have changed, and conventions are VERY different.
Why would not two children travel with “a bunch of adults”? Have you never been around a city with your relatives? Like say your grandfather and your parents as a kid? WE know now that the kittens were not related to any of them but HOPEFULLY you see that point.
Another explanation could be something just as simple as this: They were survivors that got on the ship cause of pure luck, what is wrong with that?
Well, I don’t watch Ben 10, but something that does come to mind is the relationship between Robin and Starfire in Teen Titans. That could be a route to go with Lion-O and Pumyra.
Okay, let me explain my point a bit more. In the OS it was two kids travelling with a bunch of what is essentially STRANGE adults, there is never any mention of parents or family or anything like that. There was no explanation of who they were or how they knew the cats, it was just assumed they knew them. They were just there. In the OS it was just accepted and it wasn’t even an issue. Which was absolutely fine for the time, I don’t have a problem with it. This would not work for a modern cartoon however. In the NS, there is a need for this explanation and back story, and that is what the writers are doing very well.
As for your survivor point, it could happen I agree, but then why just them two? It was the royal flagship after all?
Back to our previous discussion in another thread. Kinda funny it matters here but not at that thread cause “They were just there” up in the mountains right? You say the NS need backstory and the jump from the one episode to the other lacks EXPLANATION, which you now say is needed.
Back on-topic. I’m not sure, were they not young nobels themselves? Maybe the fight caused them to run to the nearest ship to survive? Kinda funny they were Lion-o´s age and then suddently when they landed… WTF.. HE’S BIG NOW.
Speaking of the kittens..I’d like to see Wilykit have a crush on Lion O…or some type of hero worship thing going on. I think it would be cute. It’s around this age when girls start getting those “crushes” anyways..it would be a cute side story for her…and can add a bit of comic relief as well..
I think it’s a good idea, but the idea that she’s much younger would mean they’d never develop anything. I’d much rather see Lion-O either with Pumyra or a new cat than anything else.
