Well today was not a soft side of her. Some scene was.
Her hanging all over Lion-O was nice, though.
Guess they’re saving “the moment” for the finale.
They set it up nicely because it looks like Pumyra’s going to be in bad shape.
They did set it up well. Maybe they’ll get the stone and get all the birds to escape but forget about Pumyra, and Lion-O refuses to leave her there even though the city is about to fall.

I lurked for a good year before actually posting.
I don’t see what happened here as cause for a break-up or even a removal of Pumyra’s character. She made a mistake, how may has Lion-O get to make and come out relatively unscathed. Maybe next week they’ll have a chat about why what she tried to do was wrong (They’re in friggin’ prison, what else is there?).
I’m still sticking to Lion-O being very understanding of her decisions and I don’t think it will affect their relationship. I actually think it will make it stronger.
Like how Cheetygra got stronger, even after what happened between Tygra and Lion-O and how Tygra rammed the Tank into the Elephant Village.
Yeah, like that.
I’m probably looking into it too much. It’s just shocking to see her do something like that. I mean it’s the exact opposite of who Lion-O is. It’s extreme.
But Lion-O does care for her, a lot. I don’t think he will just drop her.
I’m not a writer for the show, but I imagine Lion-O sees in Pumyra what he wants to change about cats generally - the narrow, circumscribed view of the world and the preoccupation with private survival at public expense.
Pumyra is an extreme case because she’s suffered oppression at the hands of other races, and having experienced it, she never wants the cats to suffer it again. Even if that means destroying whatever’s in their path. That’s fair enough, I guess, and she’s not alone in feeling that way. Tygra has expressed a similar if much less intense sentiment at times.
If Lion-O fails to change Pumyra’s perspective, then he probably feels like he will fail to change the situation on Third Earth in general. I doubt he will ever give up on her, both for personal reasons and for the simple necessity of having to overcome prejudices on a larger scale. He has to “win” this one. If he can’t convince his own subject to change her ways and see the big picture, not to mention someone he is emotionally close to, there is no hope of ever achieving his goal of unity.
Once again, I think she’ll finally realize her mistakes and apologize for real. I think her soft and honest side will show next episode.
Or keep up what she is doing.
She’s rash and impetuous (a lot like Lion-O was before his trials) and she was angry that he wasn’t supporting her this time, blinding her to the truth. It’s not like Lion-O’s own anger hasn’t caused him to make morally-dubious decisions before. It kind of reminds me of “New Alliances” when Lion-O blows up and Cheetara first for siding with Tygra about rescuing the Lizards and again when she refuses to fight when he’s captured. He was able to come back from that and I think she can too.
Ultimately I think the reason why they’ll form a strong couple is because they challenge one another and force each other to grow. Lion-O shows Pumyra the value of mercy and the “bigger picture” and she keeps him from becoming complacent and helps him stay focused on what needs to be done right now.
I completely agree 100%. They can both learn from each other and be better people by becoming a couple, and I can only see them getting closer from here on out. By the way, anyone else notice that Tygra rubbed off a little on Cheetara when she said “Of course he won!”? I thought that part was funny.
