So…Lion-O and Pumyra…think they’ll hook up next episode?
Well, if you go on the premise of always together for the OS, then the pair would be Tygra and Pumyra since they were the two Cats who stayed on Third Earth while the rest went to New Thundera.
Yeah, they were both pretty ignored in the second season. Maybe they comforted each other after being so neglected!
There is actually a growing list of ways the reboot mirrors the WS comic.
Pumyra’s reaction to Lion-O is very much akin to Cheetara’s in the comic.
Tygra and Cheetara’s god awful pairing in the reboot is very much akin to Kit and her beau hooking up in the comics.
Doberlord and Dobo. Nuff said.
Mumm-Ra slipping into the Astral Plain to torment Lion-O and Tygra is very much akin to Mumm-Ra entering the BoO in the comics.
I won’t go on with the other 25+ examples.
And the real kick in the teeth is supposedly, the reboot wasn’t going to have anything to do with the comic yet more and more it becomes obvious it has a lot to do with it.

Lol, missed out on the Black Death and smallpox as well. Some things are just worth missing out on… Like a Lion dating a Puma that acts like the Lions adopted brother the Tiger.
I’m thinking something will happen in the finale that will bring Pumyra and Lion-O closer, and it won’t be Lion-O rescuing Pumyra. Maybe she’ll save him or something.
Or he confesses the depths of his feelings right before he goes off to fight Mumm-Ra for the stone. Maybe he even lays one on her before running off to battle, leaving her stunned and speechless (for once!).
Yeah, I expect him to confess his feelings no matter what happens. I would really like to see a nice, soft side to Pumyra too. I have a feeling her soft side is extremely mushy and caring.
Actually, I always got the impression in the old series that there was something between Cheetara and Tygra (just like in the NS); they were always together in missions, or just hanging around.
Please, don’t make me go there. I was so p***ed at them being abandoned (because there was no other way to put it… take care of the planet my ass) in Third Earth.
Same here, even the writers thought that the writers of the OS were quite neglecting them as well.

I’d like a list of those 25+ examples:D But the Crew of Omens tumblr said that the Doberlord had nothing to do with Dobo. Plus, who exactly is Kit’s boyfriend? He looks like a younger version of Lynx-O.
Just one of the many reasons I always saw Tygra and Pumyra as a better fit than Bengali and Pumyra or Lion-O and Pumyra.
OS Tygra had the whole architect background and Pumyra had the medic thing going for her so the fact they both built things in different ways just clicked. Plus the whole life on Third earth together…
Reboot Tygra and Pumyra also seem to have more that makes them click together as well.
They’ve got the military link, the snarkiness to a certain lion link, the “burdened” past link, and so on. (not trying to start a debate over who has what in common, just pointing out an observation)

With the OS, the same could be said for Lion-O and Cheetara. One thing the OS was good about was giving equal time to all the other Cats to bask in the greatness of Lion-O.
And if one goes by an episode count, Lion-O and Cheetara did actually get more screen time than Tygra and Cheetara. But, like I’ve always said, more screen time, more missions, and more hang out time does not a relationship build.
Meh, I wouldn’t call it abandoned. Only because at the time the decision was made, the show wasn’t getting the axe so there was potential to have many more episodes centering on the two of them. To me, it was a great set-up to have a spin off.
Tygra would have been awesome as a Lion-O fill in and Pumyra - like I said earlier - just fit as his Queen. I could have seen at least two or three seasons centering on T/P building up Third Earth even more. Different mutants, different locations, all new characters… it would have been great! Heck, they could have even had the SilverHawks and TigerSharks guest star.

Just because the CoO tumblr says something doesn’t make it so. Heck, Disney still insists that all the similarities between The Lion King and Kimba The White Lion are all coincidental.
Kits boyfriend is a young member of the royal guard she meets in passing just as Tygra was a young member of the royal guard Cheetara met in passing.
