Lion-O’s attraction to Cheetara was definitely more physical than anything else, you can tell the moment he see’s her, his voice cracks and his eyes go wide. He wants her but doesn’t really bother getting to know her so he doesn’t even know what he likes about her, just that she’s pretty and nice to him.
With Pumyra it’s the opposite, he doesn’t have the same reaction upon seeing her, in fact he doesn’t even begin to see her as beautiful until he’s gotten to know her a little bit and even then the reasons why he says he likes her have nothing to do with her appearance but her core personality.
And that’s what is going to make his relationship with Pumyra so much more meaningful. He truly wants to be with her because he feels he belongs with her, not that she has to be with him. Once she begins to realize his great love for her, I think she will really return the affections.
And the best thing about it is we know Pumyra likes him too, just not when he’s acting like a lovesick puppy. As soon as he’s back to acting like himself, kicking ass and acting like the cool, confident cat he’s grown to be she’s all “That’s my guy!”
I’m sure that she’ll grow more towards him now that he’s acting normal. It will definitely be shown in the next few episodes. I’d really love to see them officially hook up by the end of this season.
Nah, I think he is attracted to her physically but her abrasive personality is initially a turn off.
And while Lion-O did have his voice crack and eyes go wide when he sees Cheetara, I think that’s more to show that Lion-O is clueless when it comes to handling women. Remember this episode had Lion-O pretty much screwing up in his attempts to woo Pumyra.
Just because Tygra and Cheetara’s attraction is more physical than others doesn’t down grade their relationship or make it less meaningfull. Love is Love, and those two love each other passionately because they aren’t shy about it like Lion O and they don’t see showing emotion as a vulnerability like Pumyra.
I agree though with everyone, Lion Os attraction to Cheetara was physical…and was more of a competitive thing with his Bro ( at least in his eyes..Tygra genuinely loved her for her). I’m sure he also found her “supportive” nature towards him attractive as well.
No one said Tygra/Cheetara was less meaningful than Lion-O/Pumyra. They are both very different but Tygra and Cheetara’s is meaningful for different reasons than Lion-O and Pumyra’s. Plus, Cheetara sees past Tygra’s cynicism and to the fact that he really has a big heart. Both relationships go beyond physical attraction.

It’s two different relationships with the same solid outcome. Lion Os relationship with Pumyra is the kind that is fitting for his character and the heavy responsibility that he carries on his shoulders. He needs Pumyras strength…She has the makings of a great Queen..but thats jumping ahead lol.
Cheetara and Tygra have more freedom to have a more passionate affair.

Sort of, but Bolin isn’t the usual Bishounen character. It’s a title reserved for the “pretty boys” , or more feminine than masculine types. Tall, slender, beautiful , intelligent and graceful.
Sesshomaru from INUYASHA and Yue from CARDCAPTAR SAKURA are some popular examples .
Ya know Tygra is listed as a Bishounen in tv tropes and I’m not quite sure I agree, not by the original definition standards anyway, he’s no doubt good looking but lacks the adrongyny I would class that way.
Tygra is not a Bishou. He’s not pretty or adorable, he’s handsome. More like the rouge hyper masculine type. Lion-O would be bishou before Tygra. He’s more boyishly good looking, and assuming he grows his hair out like Leo, he’ll be even closer to that Bishou character criteria.
Not that I think he’ll ever fit it completely. Leo is really pretty, but even he isn’t the complete definition of the trope.
Yup I kept wondering how Tygra fit into the traditional class of that trope, and YES Tygra is handsome, Lion-O is the very definition of boyishly cute and Leo is just plain pretty, there’s a difference and even still none of these guys fit perfectly.
Anywho I think the question is no longer should Lion-O have a love interest but more of Should Pumyra tell him he’ll have to be the stay at home king for the wars and stuff when the cubs arrive, that girl is pretty boss!
