From what I understand he just takes the beating. He carries a shield (but apparently no weapon) but from what I’ve heard doesn’t really use it, She keeps beating the crap out of him and he just gets up for more. He’s determined to prove that he would never hurt her, but he won’t give up on her either.
Seriously, how could you not love him?
Lion-O is a beast. I think this will only be reinforced in the pit.

Meh, I don’t think a “death match” sounds too bad…they’ll end up liking each other, I know it.
I just don’t want them to rush it. If she is to be ‘the one’, then let it take time to grow. I don’t see her making it easy anyway and Lion-o has more to focus on than just that so there’s plenty of room build something slowly.
I agree. I think Pumyra will end up wanting to rush it, but Lion-O’s “past experience” will cause him to not want a relationship at first. So, that will cause for development.
Not knowing if he is over cheetara will start some thing.
I think he’s pretty much over not having Cheetara, but if Pumyra tries to start anything (which I think will be the most logical because she seems to be pretty strong-willed) Lion-O won’t know what to do right away because his first “relationship (at least he thought it was)” didn’t go well.
Honestly, I thing the writers are setting Pumyra up to be Lion-O’s actual love interest. The triangle is over and it’s time for him to move on and find a girl of his own, and who better than one who initially hates him? Their relationship can only go up!
I will give credit to the writers for messing with the fans expectations a little bit (Jaga not dying during the fall only to die later, the Wilytwins having a living family to go home to eventually, The Tiger clan essentially being dead from the moment we saw them) but they haven’t strayed too far from that little bag of tricks most writers use (one of those being that the hero loses the girl only to fall for one who is little to nothing like her).

This was the main thing that ****ed people off about “Gargoyles” (Other than the abysmal third season), the sheer number of times Brooklyn was set up for romance only for someone else to swoop in at the last minute (so to speak) and he’d never get the girl. You only do that once, not two or three times. First it’s cruel, second if he’s a really nice guy it can alienate your audience. Even Greg Wiseman admits that he regrets just how much he jerked Brooklyn around.
I remember that! That was awful! If that happens to Lion-O I’ll cry. I’m not kidding.
You’ll notice he’s tried very hard since then to avoid that. “Young Justice” is a perfect example (mainly since it wasn’t canceled before it could wrap up its romantic loose ends, but still)
Also a good example of how multiple relationships can be handled at once within a show (since some people think it’s impossible).
Has anyone actually said it’s “impossible”? I think it more has been said it would be hard for them to add new characters, but of course adding more of them and on top of that you add in more relationships.. Could be hard. At least what they have given us with the current cast so far. Not much at all. I remember how people talked about that before (not to long ago). all of the “new guys” for 2012 came along, and i agree we dont know that much about everybody with this “much into” the show. Mostly it has been about Tygra and Lion-O and everything has gone by so fast it seems like they can’t decide if they wanna do backstory or something else.
I’m glad to see Pumyra finally revealed and the episode looks promising. I really hope she becomes a valuable team member and love possibility for Lion-O.
However, and this is just my speculation and I hate to be pessimistic, but I do hope the love triangles fiasco ends, and Lion-O moves on from Cheetara, and I hope they don’t begin a “Cheetara suddenly sees Lion-O more mature and paying too much attention/spending time with Pumya and suddenly that buds her love for him.” scenario. Would not be fair for Cheetara’s character to be portrayed in such a way or Tygra’s.
Like the idea. A very cool idea at that. Your right though not good for her. Beside some people hats her for what she did to Lion-o.
