I never really watched or got into the Original Series to get to know the characters and there backgrounds, or the shows background for that matter. I only started to get into the Thundercats with New Series. (So I think I need to some research into the Original Series YEAH ME). So any why, To me Pumyra seems to have more energy then Cheetara and more vocal about her opinion’s. While Cheetara is more clam, collective and caring. So I choose Pumyra, I just like her more than Cheetara’s.

Well it is good that you are researching the OS. Pumyra is in the OS. However her character is very different in the OS than in the NS lol! And I think it easy to say Pumyra won this poll >

From the second I started this poll and casted the first vote, Chertara has failed to take the lead by even one vote. So ya, Pumyra won.
Pumyra is just a much more interesting and well designed character.
I actually think Cheetara is cool because we don’t know a lot about her. However, Pumyra will always be my favorite!
I don’t know about being better designed, but it does say something about her that in three episodes she’s managed to outshine Cheetara and (arguably) make a bigger impact than she has in twenty episodes. She’s still my favorite character and probably always will be.
Voted for Pumyra since Cheetara seems boring and kind of a flat character right now. Plus her development into becoming a cleric rubbed me the wrong way.
Her development into becoming a cleric didn’t bother me at all. I think the main thing that bothers me is that there is nothing really going on for her character other than the love triangle and now being Tygra’s hot girlfriend. The main thing is that I think the love triangle did more to butcher her character than it did to help it. It didn’t help the characterization of Lion-O and Tygra as well either in my opinion.
Cheetara has had more time/development since she and Tygra got together than she did prior to that happening.
She was a bit of a cipher for most of season one (though much of her personality could be inferred if you were paying attention) in order to serve the Lion-O/Cheetara red herring, so the majority of her major scenes involved her saying a few encouraging words to Lion-O here and there and not offering much of herself in order to better assist the projection of romantic interest in Lion-O onto her.
Part of that is also her personality because she’s obviously a naturally emotionally reserved person – characters of which type often get unfairly dismissed as being “flat” or “boring” – but she very clearly comes out of her shell, so to speak, as regards Tygra and that undercurrent of teasing humor and playfulness becomes much more clear. Not to mention that it was also through her connection with Tygra that we got the information about her backstory.
The assertion that the love triangle somehow negatively impacted her character is baseless. She isn’t any different. Her relationships with the other characters are different, which isn’t a bad thing. On top of that, we get to see her open up much, much more than we ever did before.
Does she need a few more episodes dedicated to her? Absolutely. I would love to see them.
But she is by no means just “Tygra’s hot girlfriend.”
But she definitely is Tygra’s hot girlfriend. Just not only his hot girlfriend.
I cant even fathom how the cheerleader thing is coming up in relation to her relationship with Tygra. She spent most of season 1 cheering Lion-O on. It’s why I was, and still am frustrated with her. It looked like her only purpose was to be a confidence booster when Lion-O needed someone to tell him everything was going to be ok. I feel like it pushed a lot of fans to stick her in the girlfriend role,and so now that she’s picked her boyfriend her character serves no purpose. Fans shouldn’t feel like her only value in this show is who she wants to be with romantically. She needs more story and development.
It’s why I disliked the L/C relationship. ALL of their interaction was about Lion-O needing confidence. We never got to see anything else from that relationship. Nada. She hasn’t done any cheering Tygra on. No, that was her relationship with Lion-O in season 1. If you feel like she’s Tygra’s cheerleader, then her character has not digressed, she has stayed the same. Just switched from Lion-O to Tygra.
If anything, Tygra was the one doing all of the cheering in COR.
Just so I’m clear, I see nothing wrong with being supportive of a someone you care about. My problem was that it was seemingly all she cared about. It wasn’t any fun for me:D Nor did it make her a better more interesting character.
As far as screen time goes I think it’s about the same,if not a little more. In season one her biggest showing was Journey to the Tower of Omens. Personally, I think she was more consequential to the plot of COR.
I agree. There are two important events in Cheetara’s past that have not been adequately explained yet:

Her life prior to arriving in Thundera. She said she had no clan and nowhere else to go, and no one else in her life. This is unusual. It’s like she appeared out of thin air. What happened to her family?

Her training under Jaga. At some point he must have pulled her aside and told her about Lion-O. We have no idea what that conversation was like or what was said. It might explain a lot of the strange signals that were sent.
I was ambivalent about Cheetara’s character after the whole love geometry thing because I felt her behavior in the first part of the series was strange, and her response to Lion-O when he confronted her sounded like a half-truth. I never really bought that Lion-O was just a teenage fool who read her wrongly, I always felt he read her correctly and there was just something she didn’t want to tell him.
As time has gone on, I think there is more to the story we have not been told yet, and that story would go a long way to explaining what makes her tick. I suspect there are a lot of different forces tugging at Cheetara and it is part of the reason she is quiet and reserved and doesn’t offer much to others. If there is a backstory, the writers are waiting a long time to introduce it, which means if it comes up in the next few episodes it should be significantly related to the endgame.
