I agree with Rizefall when it comes to the other characters.
Don’t confuss “character screentime” with “character action”. They indeed are there, but doing almost nothing. In the OS you had eps where the other TCs got in the scene first, and Lion-o appeared later. Now they are there, say something, got to flip the whip or use the bo staff (where are the nunchucks?), but we can’t say they do something properly.
Now see Pumyra. She has done a lot in only 3 eps, almost getting 50% of the ep.
Yeah, we have mentioned it before, the lack of actions scenes not merely by the rest of the Cats but Lioin-O himself is to be expected because of the variety of types of input, meaning a great deal of origin stories, many flashbacks,love stories included, character depth for good and bad guys as well.Add to that the sophistication and mature approach to the stories here is why the action is sacrificed in order to accentuate other parts.Th IS had a simplistic approach and primarily not a story arc developed, each episode was self-contained,especially in all Season 1, leaving room for many action moments to fill the 24 min.run time
I realized that last night when trying to find some Tygra scenes from the last couple of episodes for my nephew (who got an instant liking to him). I’m a Pumyra fan so the last few has been a blast but I’ll be majorly ****ed off if she is eventually ignored like the others, who by the way have been doing nothing but some talking, some walking and a lot of staring. They need a few cool fight scenes or something where they can shine individually while working as a team.
Exactly what I’m expecting.
The writers & animators should watch Korra to learn a trick or two; that show, especially the fight and pro-bending scenes, are beautifully choreographed.
While that is a great show, I don’t find the fights as entertaining as the original Avatar series. I think this was mentioned before, but ThunderCats isn’t meant to have insanely choreographed fights because it focuses more on magic and story.

Still, doesn’t mean fight sequences shouldn’t look cool.
But I loved Pumyra vs that giant robot thing and Pumyra vs Lion (even though he wasn’t really fighting). Those were cool!

Yeah those fight scenes in korra are really beautiful, they clearly put a lot of money and effort into getting them right.

I know it wasn’t the original poster’s intent, but after so many years in fandom (far too many years, you might say), I’ve grown awfully weary of the near constant debate as to which woman character of an inevitably limited pool of women characters is the better or preferable one, when it’s like: but there’s room for all sorts of women! Cheetara and Pumyra can be vastly different characters, as they are - Cheetara is calm, reserved, flirtatious and at times sly, with a dry wit and a great deal of empathy, while Pumyra is temperamental, impatient, overt in her attentions whether negative or positive, sarcastic rather than dry-witted, and prickly (both Cheetara and Pumyra are emotionally reserved in very distinctive ways; Cheetara simply keeps her feelings and desires close to herself, while Pumyra lashes out to protect herself emotionally) - but I don’t think that makes either of them objectively superior to the other. Both women are wonderfully complex in very different ways, and I’m terribly excited to see what the show intends to do with Cheetara and Pumyra. (And I really hope we’ll see them become friends!)
Of course, that isn’t what the poll’s meant for, haha; people will always have preferences with characters. I don’t really know precisely what I’m getting at, only that - well, having read a bit of the discussion in the early pages, I guess I felt like people were taking it in the direction of “ is a better woman than [y]!” when the reality of it is, there’s no wrong way to be a woman. I mean, it’s one thing to like Pumyra more than Cheetara, but it’s another thing entirely to say Cheetara’s a bad woman, you know?

And I agree with those who miss the battle scenes. In the OS they good, now they are quick and kinda lame.
I’m sorry, but I’ve wanted to say this for a LONG time.
I always found the battles in the OS way too long and drawn out. I sat there waiting 5 minutes for a conversation between characters that could easily be done in 20 seconds. Lion-O rarely used the sword as a sword, and most episodes it seems like most of the action was in the theme song. I respect the OS and enjoy several aspects of it, and I realize it was probably a lot better in it’s time, but to say the new action scenes aren’t as good is just not right in my opinion. In other words, the OS just seemed too slow-paced to have any engaging action scenes.
That being said, the NS has had a few disappointing action scenes (“Survival of the Fittest”, maybe “Curse of Ratilla” in the last part but I found it to be a good fight). I think the quickness of them just adds to it, because sometimes long action scenes can ruin movies/TV shows/books (see Transformers 2, even though that wasn’t the only thing that ruined it). Especially in the latest episode, there were several quick action scenes that led up to a lengthy battle at the end. I honestly thought Pumyra had a chance of dying, but I never felt anything like that on any episode in the OS.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the OS, but minus a few exciting episodes it doesn’t hold a candle when it comes to overall action to the NS.

Well said Two Lips and might I add I’m in love with your fics and I don’t read a whole lot of Thundercats fics, they often distract me from finishing my own, you should post your stuff here too there’s just not enough fanfic in the fanfiction section, I feel like I’m the only one writing anything over there! We hope you stick around, well speaking for me anyway!
What can I say? I liked the OS battle scenes.
And Lion-o rarely uses the sword as a sword in the NS as well. Haven’t seen him pinching or decapitating anyone 
The only episode I can recall him actually using the sword as one in the OS off the top of my head is Excalibur. In the NS, he doesn’t necessarily have full on sword fights every episode, but in the OS it was more of a laser gun and summoner than anything.
Doesn’t the Ns sword have lasers as well
