This thread is for talking about Pumyra in the past episodes. Fans can talk about signs of betrayal in past episodes. Also, talk about if Pumyra’s love was fake or not. In addition, was she all evil in the past episodes. Just anything in those episodes.
Be nice everyone and number one rule in this thread is NO TALKING ABOUT THUNDERCATS BEING CANCELED! I made this thread so fans can talk about something else than that.
OK…That scene where she picks up the baby winged-frog is more or less a sign of being gentle with all other creatures, but if she were as hellbent on revenge against Lion-O as she had shown, then she would have just stamped it to death and traumatized millions of viewers. Then again, she might have just been looking pretty for the camera. Also, that look on her face says volumes. She must have been running a lotta mixed thoughts in her head.
Kind of confused on why she loved that Lion-o kept defeating Mumm-ra. In addition, she said Lion-O is a good king because of his emotions. So, it’s like Pumyra on both sides.

she might have thinking of not doing Mumm-ra’s dirty work from time to time.
The OS Pumyra never wore any necklaces, so maybe when Mumm-Ra resurrected NS Pumyra, he put it on her as a reminder of where her real loyalties lie…Or was she wearing it when she died anyway? Don’t remember.
But we can argue that the Pumyra fan thread has gone waaay off-topic now. and besides, this is more relevant to how she acted in episodes, than just what we predict would happen in the next one.
Way off-topic is an understatement for that tread right now HAHA. Anyway… One of the scenes I think that show’s Pumyra true self is at the beginning of TCoR were the cat slave is getting whipped:(. If she was truly and fully under Mumm-Ra’s spell/control or what ever at that time. She would have agreed to go along with Lion-O’s plan of how to save the slaves, instead of trying to save the cat from being whipped.
Thank you for this thread. It’s been a while since I logged in and I’m behind on the actual Pumyra thread like 40 pages and it looks way off topic.
A couple of weeks ago, right after “Soul Sever” I totally gave up on the show. It was the most hideous, random episode yet and I had little intention of watching the finale afterwards. I kept delaying it until I read on tumblr that Pumyra was actually a villain!! WTF I said and rushed to watch the last 2 episodes and boy is the show back on track again (bit of a Star Wars rip off but that’s cool).
I’ve always felt Pumyra shared a lot of similarities with the character of Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Both had an edge, were impulsive but cool! Now, the final revelation totally supports my point for Faith too dwelled on the dark side at some point.
All I want from the show right now if there is ever gonna be a season 2 that they play with Pumyra’s situation and put her in the grey-zone. I’m all up for evil Pumyra (hell, throw in a catfight scene with Cheetara and it’s heaven) but what would be great is to have her eventually question her loyalties and slowly walk the hard road to redemption. That way she can be realistic character instead of a cardboard villain.
They can’t cancel it now that it’s got very interesting. But the writing seriously needs to get better and please no more lame filler episodes..
I agree with you that there should be better writing sometimes, but DN did say that these episodes do have purpose.
For one, the Cats got the Feliner from the Soul Sever’s lair, but it could also be that the Soul Sever does have another purpose to his part in the story than just to supply the cats a quick way to get up to Avista, and join the ‘We got some sense beaten into us by Lion-O’ club.
Hmmm, then what if I theorized that the simple one with the black stone that she wears now was given to her as a present/keep-her-under-my-spell-token from Mumm-Ra?

Agreed. But I don’t want her walk to redemption to take to long nor be to short. So I guess she could go though that road in the first 13 episodes or so. Which to me seems the right length. Cause it wont be dragged out thought the whole season. And when she does redeem her self it will leave enough for her to win back the trust of the other cats as will.
I’ll be honest, when she took the Sword of Plundarr from Lion-O and ran off in “Birth of the Blades” I thought “Yep, she’s with Mumm-Ra”, but then she was all tied up and I was like “Huh, guess not”
The idea was in the back of my head after that, but I thought that might be too gutsy of a move for the creators to do. It seemed like the possibility was there, but I thought “Would they really go there with one of the classic characters” and then “What Lies Above Part 2” rolls around and I’m like “Wow! They actually did it!” and best of all, they made it Pumyra was willingly serving Mumm-Ra, which again, is sure to stir controversy from fans of the classic series.
I love it though. This new Pumyra is infinitely more interesting than the original character ever was. In the OS, she was basically “The girl Thundercat that wasn’t Cheetara” and pretty much a blank slate. Here, she’s been made into one of the most important characters in Thundercats mythology, and I have to give them props for having the guts to actually do it and then do it so well.
just rewatched episode 23 and noticed mummra did attack her with a tail once and shot a blast in which liono saved her, She also threw a few pansy rocks with her cross bow thing. i tried to notice any facial expressions but she too didnt seem shady. Other than that, the ode to the classic intro was freaking awesome, loved that scene.
I think that scene in Mount Plundarr where Lion-o saves Pumyra and they have that whole tender moment I think that was real. I felt like that scene was her feeling guilty of working with Mumm-ra. The other moment they had in episode 24 where she hung on him and said,“orders my king” I think was her being manipulative to lead Lion-O into Mumm-ra’s trap.
Agreed. I guess another scene you can so was real (I kinda talked about this in another thread but cant remember which one) would be at the beginning of “BoTB” were she suggested they lead Mumm-Ra’s army in to the mines. Instead of following the cats they just saved. Cause she didn’t want to see the cats they just saved slaughtered. Cause I think if she was truly and fully under his control she would not have said anything.
agreed, but at the same time, there’s always a chance that she was trying to keep up with appearances, and one reason why she resented Lion-O, was because she thought he didn’t do anything for the cats who became slaves.
