I’m hoping they keep her round pupils (as opposed to the slitted pupils of the other cats) from the old show, it was one of the things that made her stand out.

I don’t know why but I have a feeling that the kittens mom might turn out to be Pumyra. I know they are supposed to introduce her next week but we never did the mom’s name in this weeks episode. I am probably wrong but that would be an interesting twist.
That’s definitely interesting. I doubt she will be. I always thought of her as more of Lion-O’s age, but definitely an interesting theory.
Well see, that’s the thing, in the original series, she was definitely older because she looks the same when Thundera is destroyed as she does when she is rescued. Of course, we don’t know how any of these characters age in this new series so it is hard to say.
Well, Panthro was about the same age as Tygra and Cheetara in the OS, but he’s much older than them in the NS.
Right, Pumyra and Bengali were probably closer to Lion-O’s age than any of the others.
Like I said, I am probably wrong but considering we can really only guess at the ages of any of the characters, it is still a probability.
Wilys aren’t Pumas, so neither was their mother. They’re Wildcats.

True but do we know how the “wildcats” in this world are created? Is there a clan of wildcats like there are with other cats or are wildcats simply the result of two cats from different clans mating?
As I have already said, I am most likely wrong but it is just something fin to think about. I will say that their mother and siblings will come into play at some point though.
It only seems logical that they would come back into the story. I’m thinking wildcat is just some name for a mixed breed.
I wouldn’t think about this too much. I mean let’s face it, we didn’t see that many lions did we, and the tiger clan wasn’t that big. To keep this racial purity up for so many generations.. they basically have to be inbreeding like crazy. (just think of human history where this happened, egyptian royal bloodlines, the Ashkenazi jews, etc) Meh, it’s a kids show afterall. For a more (brutally) realistic depiction, we have stuff like Game Of Thrones..
I see what you are saying, and some latitude can be given since it is a kids show essentially. But I think a rich mythos and developed ‘world’ really gives a lot of depth to a series like this.
wildcats aren’t just two different species of cats mating. they’re a species of their own (Felis silvestris). for instance a liger is not a wildcat.
I just had a thought. The crew said that the blacksmiths that made the Sword of Omens in Legacy were cougars ( http://crewofomens.tumblr.com/post/9890633150 ). Cougars and Pumas are different names for the same species. Think Pumyra could be descended from the clan that created the Sword of Omens?

Come to think of it, maybe the female of the two is giving us an idea what Pumyra will look like. She doesn’t look too bad, though i would probably change the eyes

This. This so much, it was one of the things from the old show that made her so special, none of the other cats had eyes like that. Maybe they could actually call attention to it this time.
