To be honest, this is almost certainly unofficial, I’d be very surprised if this turned out to be legitimate - but, some websites are now showing a head model of Panthro as a possibility for the forthcoming CGI movie. Again, I’d emphasise that this is not official - but, I thought it might be worth showing to you guys!
Looks cool. Makes me think of Lynxo more then Panthro though. Just imagine the red bandana and it could work quite well.
The only thing that throws off the legit factor, is that the same site is showing a red Tcats logo that has been around for a while now.
The site http://www.thundercatsareloose.com uses it as the main logo. The site does not seem to contain anything, and I don’t think it is the possible “official” site of the new movie either, as the domain was registered on Oct of 2006, and expires Oct of this year.
Who knows though… Certainly is exciting to see some “possible” models for the new movie. Thanks for the post He-Fan!

To be honest, Chris, this model does make Panthro look more cat-like, and it works just as well for Alex’s example of Lynx-O. Granted, this particular model is not official, but who’s to say it won’t be later on? With CGI, the animators will undoubtedly experiment with different looks for the new Cats; for all we know, they may very well choose this one. We’ll have to wait and see. :bengali:
Its alright. But it seems like there would be a 4-foot tall body beneath that neck, grrrr to the producers of the film who are possibly reading this: THUNDERCATS SHOULD BE TALL!
Although not the actual model for the movie I like it and think it could work. It adds some cat like features while not completely destroying the humanoid appearance.
Personally I´m glad it ain´t real, for even though it had some reseblance to Panthro it looked far to agressiv for me. Reminded me of those Sleepwalker Creatures from Stephen Kings Movie.

Anyhow, that image spread like wildfire. Everyone and their moms is talking about the model like it’s official. It’s great to see so much interest in ThunderCats, but it’s bad that a fake image can easily be called official without any official confirmation.

How true, yet a sad fact is (talking from my parts of the fandom) Warner isn´t really giving away infos for free We´ve been trying to make contact with them more than once yet I guess beeing a foreign fansite they won´t even read our mails or glimps in our direction
So I can understand how everyone´s freaking out when something “new” is shown or told, even though it turns out fraud.
It has nothing to do with your website, King. Warner Brothers’s behavior is typical of how all movie studios behave when a new film or television show is in the works. Competition is cutthroat in the entertainment industry and the best way to keep an edge over the competition is to keep silent about upcoming projects. The penalties can be harsh if you break that silence. Violators can be slapped with fines equalling the cost of the entire production, which is why anybody – actors, producers, directors, anybody working either in front of the camera or behind the scenes – keeps their lips firmly zipped until the film is released. It’s stipulated in their contracts. :bengali:
I am such a b**ch and a doubting Thomas… I would like to know what your source is. I don’t know about everyone else but I like to hear names and such when it comes to official things. So far, you make posts about such things and have people take your word for it. I like to know sources and such. I waited a while before replying, hoping that others would ask but they didn’t. So now I will ask. Where do you get this information from? I want names and backgrounds. Or are you going to keep that a secret?
