It’s ok, I love both the OS and NS, but I agree with your point that this NS has a more over reaching story arch which is nice to see. Both shows are great for what each is if you ask me.
I voted for the OS it’s not even difficult to choose!
Third Earth was played out better in the OS.
While I still have a heart for the original show, but from a story prespective and a character one as well, the new series does everything better.
The thing what drags the original down is that it tends to fall to the usual cliches of 80’s cartoons, too much scenes of new toys that appear out of nowhere and villaisn getting beaten in every episode. Granted, Mumm-Ra is a threat and manages to stay his menacing self unlike dozens of other 80’s cartoon villains but even he suffered. I mean, his weakness is a reflection of himself? What’s the threat in that?
Hell, if I were to write a Doctor Who crossover with the original TCats series, I’d simply have the Seventh Doctor pull out a mirror and shove in front of the guy’s face in the end.
I mean sure, thew new series has its share of problems like the most recent episode, it could’ve been a two parter but at least it managed things done.
Speaking of, there’s a lot of interesting things going and its cliffhangers actually do make you wonder what will happen next and I say for the kids, it’s a great move for them to anticipate what happens in the next episode at least from a marketing standpoint.
Plus, it seemed like the writing and art staff took their time putting more effort into creating this new universe and how things work especially the characters, what makes them tick. It helps that one of the producers is an alumini of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I’ve loved cat aliens since I saw Lt. M’Ress from the animated Star Trek series. 
I love the NS better because this is great storytelling.

Interesting to see how evenly balanced the votes are between the three. 
I think you can’t really compare them, I like both.
They are both good but I prefer the new Thundercats.
The characters in the new series look better and I also prefer the new voices.
It would be evan better if the new series had a proper intro as well.
I’m still REALLY hoping they’ll include something on the season boxed set. I mean if they can make a 2 minute short about Snarf, why not a 2 minute (or however long it was) short as a homage to the old intro? They already have the rights to the song.

I’ve been thinking some more which ones i love better and i can’t really decide. They are so totatlly different and where made by different people in a different point in time. They are both good, people that compare them to much is just being dumb.

I totally agree, and that’s the NS’s first fault imo : they should have used the original artwork ! I find the new one just awful …

I’ve gone on at length previously about why I could never get fully on board with the OS (slightly too old for it, played down to the kids, unsubtle moralizing, etc.) This, however, I can fully get behind and be proud to be a fan of. Seeing my other two favorite shows are about a zombie apocalypse and a gang of outlaw bikers, to consider this new ThunderCats to be in the same league as those shows speaks to its level of quality!
The “unsubtle moralizing” was one of my favorite things.
Nothing will ever top the original ThunderCats for me… The animation, the voice acting, the music, the characters.. all done so well!
I like the new show a lot and the people behind it are doing a fantastic job, but I just prefer the OS..
As said i like them both. Larry Kenny as Lion-O will always be legendary but that does not mean the NS is bad.
Been watching the OS first 13 episodes and the NS first 13 episodes and they are on par if you ask me.
I like the new more then the original, the OS is still good but does not stand up well like many cartoons from that time even if I still like almost every show from my childhood.
I do think when you saw the OS and at what age will clearly influence how much you like NS. We are all trapped in our times to some degree or another.

I don’t think it really matters. I liked He-Man back then, I can’t stand to watch it now though. I think it depends on how much you liked a cartoon regardless of your age. I just discovered Avatar: The Last Airbender at the beginning of this year and loved it, it ranks up there for me with the original ThunderCats that I watched originally as an elementary aged kid. So I don’t think age matters, I think it just matters the level at which you liked a cartoon.
